Barry, the theme that I have repeatedly emphasised to you is change.

Don't go putting words in other people's mouths.

Please answer me. How is a club changing a name or a colour alone "moving forward"? I've asked 3 times now.

What a load of bollocks.
I don't fear change, unless of course that change is for the worse.
This and our rebrand falls into that category for me and many others.
Anyway, I don't fear it, I loathe it.

Plus, how are BU "killing" CCFC?

Its not Barry. You and I know that and so do the Tan apologists.

BU killing CCFC, stupid statement from someone losing the argument. Lets turn this around. Thanks to BU we still have the Bluebird in blue.

Ian I believe the reaction of fans last season shortly after the re-brand was confirmed by VT together with the representation of the small group of fans called to meetings with the club ensured the "Bluebird" remained on the club crest. That happened long before BU was ever thought of so, in my opinion, it cannot be claimed that thier existance has had anything to do with that.

I agree however that nothing BU are doing is likely to kill our club, absolute nonsense, but in a way the announcement this morning by the owners of Hull City does raise questions, again, regarding the "Official" statement on thier Facebook page. The statement says "We want to see Cardiff City (Bluebirds) in the Premiership and NOT the Premiership in Cardiff City".

What has happened with Hull City this morning is, in my opinion, the very worst example of how sport is being marketed nowadays. Rugby League, County Cricket and Welsh regional rugby clubs have ALL adopted this concept of rebranding by adding what I think are silly additions to thier names.

BU need to drop this Cardiff City Bluebirds nonsense because that in itself is a re-brand and concentrate on developing means of getting the maximum number of our fans on board with showinf respect to our traditional colours. Wearing blue to home games is the best and encouraging fans to sing "We're Cardiff City We'll Always Be Blue" during our matches. Make no mistake VT, like everyone else at the Charlton game, heard it load and clear.

I'm no VT apologist and I never accepted his freebie red scarf and for me the tpping pointwill always be changing the name of our club. I support Cardiff City FC not Cardiff Dragons and not Cardiff City Bluebirds. In my opinion BU should stop this Cardiff City Bluebirds nonsense and concentrate on Cardiff City FC - The Bluebirds or I fear it will not be to long before we will face an announcement about Cardiff Dragons.

And as I have always said that will be the tipping point for me, Premier League or not.

Nice post CB.

Can the club remove the name Cardiff? I know they can't relocate thanks to the Wimbledon saga but what about changing the name radically like removing the word Cardiff.

Well, well, well...

a year ago I heard from so many reluctant reds "its just the colour and the badge, our identity is still there, Tan can't change the name, league rules forbid that..."

Hull City --> Hull City Tigers
Cardiff City --> Cardiff City Dragons???

Thanks but no thanks

I would fight the same fight, if we were still in blue with our crest and the name would change to "Cardiff Dragons" or something...

NAME, COLOURS, CREST and NICKNAME... these things are the identity, the heritage and the tradition of a club, and noone, no matter how much money he spends into it, has the right to change that.

Because in the eyes of the "OWNER" it makes the club more marketable in the areas they wish to target, advertising, sponsorship, investment, surely the owners take these decisions based on their business aims in the areas they know.

Perhaps if we had supported the club which means so much to so many apparently, we wouldn't have been stripped of our identity, raped and pillaged, had a dagger through the heart lost our soul etc etc.

If all these people had actually turned up season after season when we were shit, we would not have needed foreign investment and help, we could have done it off our own backs.

What is the saying, we reap what we sow. Perhaps our history of bad behavior has prevented any investor wanting to touch us, and also put many families off coming into what was almost a war zone at times. :old:

that's the American way, clubs become franchises, trade and re-locate?

So you're telling me, New Model Army were right?

"Look out of your windows, watch the skies
Read all the instructions with bright blue eyes
We're W.A.S.Ps, proud American sons
We know how to clean our teeth and how to strip down a gun

We're the 51st state of America

Our star-spangled Union Jack flutters so proud
Over the dancing heads of the merry patriotic crowd
Tip your hat to the Yankee conqueror
We've got no reds under the bed with guns under our pillows

We're the 51st state of America

Here in the land of opportunity, watch us revel in our liberty
You can say what you like but it doesn't change anything
Because the corridors of power are an ocean away

We're the 51st state of America"

A NAME CHANGE is far more worse than the colour of shirt you wear for me. CARDIFF CITY won promotion to the PL, CARDIFF CITY won the FA Cup in 1927 and CARDIFF CITY beat Real Madrid at Ninian Park. The name is the center and soul place of every football club.

There are some utter pricks on here who revel in the rebrand . You only have to read the bbc forum on the matter to get a pretty decent general consensus from fans around the country . Most are taking the piss , many others pass on sympathy . Our situation also features regularly . They should put Mickey Mouse on the front of out ground

Give me Hull's situation over ours any day of the week.

Being called Cardiff City bluebirds and playing in blue sounds far better than what we have.

Your name determines who you are, nothing else. Michael Jackson went from black to white and he was still called Michael Jackson.

See, I don't want our name changed, cause then it wouldn't be Cardiff City FC. Like I now see Hull as a new club. We still have our identity, but I honestly think Hull have lost theirs.

and ur picture underlines that you are in favour of american sports, which explains why you have no bond to traditions, identity...

your sporting team is just a franchise, its logos, colours, name can be changed to suit commercial demands and of course the franchise can be moved to another town, which is ok as another franchise could be re-located to where you live. The club isnt important then, just the fact you can watch sports and of course success on the pitch...

That's the new breed... ;)

Crest, shirt, nickname are only for the fans ! Club identity is name! it is only thing recognised by fa, euafa ect
But the others things are as important to fans, so unless we change name we officially cannot lose identity no matter what some say on here.
