But the way he's explaining it seems like you both mean something different. How ever now we're 3 games ahead of them. I think according to his logic. :?

Because that weasel is looking at it in the short term, and I am looking at it to the end of the season, which is what counts does it not?

We have to drop points in at least FOUR of the remaining 13 games to give Hull any chance of finishing above us. Thats assuming they win all of their games, which is unlikely, so for every game they lose / drop points its one more game we can afford to.

Thats not opinion, its FACT. You cannot argue with mathmatics unless of course you are Sepp Blatter and can decide perhaps Hull will get 4 points for a win and we will still only get 3.

We can lose three games, they can win them all but we still finish above them if we win all bar three games.

Therefore it is a FOUR game cushion not 3.

Honestly, my daughter is 8 and she has more brains than some of you lot.

Right, so you were on about different scenarios, never mind then.

Do you think Peter Swan was talking about wether they could catch us at some point in the season, or at the finish?

Polo is right. We have a 4 game cushion. I don't see how its so difficult to work out. :?

As soon as Hull catch us they will stop the season right there and only have one team promoted for the season. It's a conspiracy, they don't want two welsh clubs in the top league you know!

No, you are wrong. They are 8 points behind. That means in 3 games time they could be 1 point ahead of us. That means they would have caught us and by the very definition we would then be chasing them.

The fact we have an extra game to do it in doesn't mean it's a 1 game cushion as we may lose it or even drawing it won't allow us to overtake them. You are suggesting that if we were 1 point behind Hull in second with a game in hand, we have a 1 game cushion at the top of the league, which isn't how it works, although I admire your optimism.

They can catch is in 3 games, that's all there is to it.

Well there we go then Simon, that's pretty freaky in itself

I've been banned 3 times all in one day in a horrible case of mistaken identity. Good to be back.

lyndipops wrote:AFTER closing the gap between themselves and leaders Cardiff to five points, Hull City fans will be wondering if the Bluebirds can be caught.

In my opinion, yes they can, and with the two sides meeting on the final day of the season at the KC Stadium, what a game it could be to end the season – a title decider, perhaps.

Cardiff do have a game in hand on the Tigers but there is no guarantee they will win

Hull Aero ClubView Details
The leaders haven’t really had a dodgy period, but after losing 2-0 at home to Brighton on Tuesday night, it could be the start of their shaky spell.

I believe Cardiff hit the woodwork four times, so it obviously wasn’t their night.

A lot will depend on how they respond to that defeat now, and Malky Mackay will hope they will get back on track with a win at Wolves, not an easy game by any stretch of the imagination.

City are certainly turning the heat up on the Welsh side and I can see Cardiff bottling it a bit in the next few games.

Of course, whilst looking up at Cardiff and hoping for a slip-up. City have to make sure they don’t slip themselves.

It doesn’t do any harm checking on the teams behind you in the table to see who is closing you down, and when City look over their shoulders, there are some good teams on their tails.

Despite their loss on Tuesday, Nigel Pearson’s Leicester will stay in the hunt, as will Crystal Palace, with Ian Holloway no stranger to promotion campaigns,

Then there is Watford, who have won five of their last seven, and look a real threat under Gianfranco Zola.

It means there is no margin for error, but I think the Tigers have shown by the way they played against Blackburn that they can match any side in the league.

City just need to focus on their own game, and if they do that, I think they can hold off the chasing pack and even overtake Cardiff.

I have said all season that I don’t think Cardiff are as good a team as their league position has suggested.

If they do struggle during the next few weeks, I expect City to take advantage and blow the title race open.
