this may well be true, but as we get bigger crowds than you,do you not think that we also contribute a similar amount,,why would being in the premier league make any difference, its about bums on seats surely

Why would being in the pl make any difference, are you jokingsky money simple as that.

I think its you who is missing the point, without sky money do you think the swans would be able to employ 400 people. without sky money there would not be £58 million for the local economy, yes more merchandise, is sold, bigger crowds etc, but thats all small fry compared to the sky money. The best supported team in the championship, will have a smaller turnover than the the pl worst supported team.Carpe Diem wrote:kidwelly jack wrote:krabb wrote:kidwelly jack wrote:What swansea city fc were worth to the local economy, in theryre first season in th pl

Errr, you've missed the point I'm afraid. Your thread was about contribution to the local economy, not club turnover. The 2 aren't necessarily related

So tell me then who do you employ just because you have sky money? What staff that aren't related to the size of your crowd or stadium?

now are we talking turnover that's what money club generates in sales of shirts, tickets ect ect, or money from sky which is income? ever so slightly different! and have you employed 400 more staff at club? seems a bit extreme considering nothing is bigger in premier except your crowds by 5k on champ ones! and I understood it was region which benefited with extra jobs hotels ect ect no wonder swans fans confused by having to much money they don't know whats income or turnover!
even radio wales confused as they say welsh economy benefited by 58 mil? or has Swansea now become a country??![]()

Im sure some of these jobs are part time, i know there is a lot of students that work at the liberty on match day's, but some of the jobs will be full time and well paid, look your talking rubbish how can you say regardless what league your in. Would swansea city fc be spending millions on building projects if they were in a lower league and i dont mean stadium expansion. What you dont seem to understand is forget fans coming into swansea and spending money, the biggest source of cash which is recycled from the club into the local economy comes from sky..And dont get to cocky our average attendance when we went up, was about the same as yours the year you got to the fa cup final.Carpe Diem wrote:kidwelly jack wrote:Swansea's turnover in the champioship was about £15 million, turnover in first pl season about £64 million so without a doubt is matters what league you are in. How many? Most will no doubt be part time match day staff so for you I can see now your crowds have increased based on your piss poor previous attendances that you now need more. But that's still no more than other clubs your size regardless of league. Yeah your turnover shoots up on the prem, but then so do wages and transfer fees etc. It doesn't all flow into the local economy.
