It would take a one eyed optimist not to have noticed Whittingham being off the pace in recent matches,hes playing far to deep,his distribution is not as clinical as it should be,and his trademark deadball ability is not as threatening as it use to be,i think Mackay should consider resting him so he can re discover his undoubted ability,do anyone else on here think that the player is looking jaded,and needs to be rested so he can recharge his batteries ?

Not sure I would rest him..........but maybe play him in front of midfield at home. Opposition stuff 5 in there and he is faced with 'influencing' from in front of them. Give them something to consider. Play him behind their midfield and see how many keep a straight midfield line then! They would have to drop one or two back just to cover him! Hudson is capable of bringing the ball forward.

And if Whitts gets the ball there, he can slot balls for Helgursson and Belamy.

100 % agree with you purple,goes into his shell to often,certainly not captain material,only plays well when the team does, needs to stand up and be counted more often

Yes he is playing in a harder league but apart from passing with good accuracy he has done next to nothing for the team this season in an attacking sense. Any pro player should be able to do more than just pass in my opinion.

Britton is rubbish to be honest.

Brittons passes are short and easy, Mcphail could easily do his job.

It's quite clear that you two have absolutely no idea what Britton's role in the team is.

It's not to create chances and to score goals, it's to break up play and to always be available for the ball. The nearest type of player I can think of who played a similar role/style is Claude Makelele.
