With the global market now a way of life don't you think that it's about time we all learned to speak a prominent language?
Instead of learning welsh, shouldn't we teach our children to learn say, chinese, spanish and english?
Surely that would benefit them better than some old gobbedly gook from ancient times?
We have to let go of this romantic bullshit of heritage and living in the past and teach our children for the future.

Well. I tried to stay reasonable. But...
firstly, over half a million people in Wales (your country) speak Welsh. More than a few eh?
Secondly. The hatred of the Welsh language is a residual effect of all things English and Norman
that hit Wales many centuries ago. Divide and rule. Check it out mate. His name is Longshanks.
Its how the English defeated the Welsh.
I am Welsh speaking, my whole family is/was... to the extent that my grandfather was forced
out of school for speaking his native tongue back at the turn of the last century (how dare he eh!!)
In fact, how VERY dare he stand up to the English, my Great Grandfather should have just took it
up the arse from the English and bowed down. Yeh, thats what he should have done!!!
Now me, personally, I dont give a f**k if someone speaks Welsh or not. I'd love more to, but hey-ho...
Non-Welsh speaking lads travel the world watching Wales play Rugby and Football, spending a fortune
to do so. So would i class these people as less Welsh than me?? Would I f**k.
But truth be told... I dont give a f**k how 'Welsh' people say they are/think they are...
When they call the language useless...
Its Centuries of English talking.
YES... The administration of everything bi-lingual is a waste of money. Not enough Welsh people
have EVER been that clever at reading and writing in Welsh... guess why, oh yeh... the English
tried to ban the written word.
but f**k me, do you not think that over the border, millions of English people feel the same at
the ridiculous amounts of money spent providing all things under the sun in HUNDREDS of different
languages for the 'new english'...
At least the money wasted (and it is, mostly!!!) translating all government documents into Welsh
is technically for the indigenous population
The Welsh language useless? not in Wales it isn't, and thats where I choose to live AND BREED!!!

The sad thing nowadays is.. the only real ignorance regarding the Welsh language comes from
plastic English 'Welshmen'... too thick to realise they are singing the same tune of successive
Kings of England who wanted to drive the Welsh language into the ground, because with it, the
Welsh would ALWAYS have a banner to flock to in times of trouble. It why we are still Welsh!!
you got your head screwed on. you live in an area where your own language is now seriously being
undermined. you understand.
English visitors to Wales appreciate the language nowadays.
A minority of my 'countrymen' embarrass me at times. Like I say... not ONE of them would say the Welsh National
Anthem is 'embarrasing and useless'... of course they wouldn't.

STRANGE post, given that the OP obviously has a resentment towards the language.
Take it from me, after watching Wales and Cardiff City all over Europe, there is NO
resentment, bitterness or "im better than you are" from Welsh speakers to non-welsh speakers.
But you say 'Most"... There IS a clique.. of actors, luvvies and media daaarlinks...
Not many of them outside of Cardiff!
In fact, the Welsh speaking areas are generally the poorest areas in Wales.

What a f*cking inane load of drivel.
600,000 people in Wales speak the language every day, so what it does is help people communicate!!
Somebody can go to their local shop and order bread or milk, they can feed their kids, you know, shit

Thats the way of the world mate and always will be. Theres nothing wrong with being proud of where you are from and who you are. You forget about it and you lose apart of yourself.
The "human race" will always be divided purely because everyone is so different. Theres too much bad blood between people to ever be united. You shouldnt worry about such things.
