That's not a criticism as it was winning football but it's ironic as its why the fans aren't supporting now however we had big crowds under Malky.

I'll stick my neck out and say Slade would take us up if he had a 12 million pound budget.

Lets see if Slade gets us to a major cup final and play off position first.

Ian, well said :thumbright:

Neil, lets see what Slade achieves? he's been here now well over a year and brought in 15 players.

Neil, out of curiosity, you keep slating Malky 24/7, how many actual live games did you actually watch of his? as his record speaks for itself :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Also under Malky crowds off 20,000-27,000 during his time.

Under Slade gone down from 22,000 to 13,000.

I hardly slate him 24/7. I'm pointing out that people thought his football was dire. I know the crowds were higher that's my point mate. As we were winning the crowds were up despite the dire football. Plus Malky benefitted from follow on from playoff finals, cup finals which helped sell season tickets.

Nei, Why your obssesion against him then? No matter what anyone says, you have to be honest his record/facts speaks for itself in what he achieved in 3 years, no other City manager has ever achieved so much in the last 52 years. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

I'm not obsessed. I just hate disparity. You won't give DJ credit yet he got to the FA cup final and took us into unchartered territory (play offs) all the while playing excellent football despite having to sell his best player year after year. He did this with a small budget.

Yes Malky only had 11 players when he arrived but they were a class 11 players goalkeeper, centre midfielder and centre back formed the basis of our championshio winning team the next year all signed for half of Maynard or Brayford.

Slade took us over in a worse position than Malky did. 40 odd players is far tougher than 11 players. The main criticism is that the football is dire and no plan b which as this thread shows people thought about Malky. That's why I think the slating Slade gets is unfair. You also regularly mention Slade's signings to which I point out Malky's poor signings with a budget 25 times what Slade has. Peltier and Malone have been class signings. No player Malky signed for 200k were as good.

I'll always be grateful for what Malky did but the wax lyrical about Malky I think is too much when the other two managers get stick.

I gave DJ credit the first 4 years, but then his last 2 years his arrogance shone through and Unrealised by the end he was exactly a nearly man, 6 years and we won nothing and it really was time for DJ to go, the players were drinking/partying and it was showing on the pitch.
