The Douce wrote:Gavin "couldnt hit a barn door" gordon, didn't he score 5 goals in one game!
Didn't he also score a screamer to take us to extra time against the jacks in the paint cup as well or was that someone else - actually I remember now it was Gary (?) Thompson

Carl Dale - not just the favourite ever striker in my time, but my favourite ever player. Carl was small in stature but full of guts, fight and spirit. He used to take a kicking from the centre backs, come back for more and eventually get the better of them and score. He had some dire players in the team with him until the Eddie May era began and his never say die attitude made him an instant favourite. I will never forget the season Phil Stant and Carl Dale both hit 28 goals each and fired us to the title. Steve White signed from Hereford also enjoyed a fantastic partnership with Carl. As already said, if Carl didn't have his bad knee, I'm certain he could have carried on firing in the goals further up the divisions.

Just thinking that ive been watching City since 1986 and my Fav Striker was Phil Stant. Who is yours ?

Tony Evans, Jeff Hemmerman, Jimmy Gilligan, Chris Pike, Carl Dale, Phil Stant, Kevin Nugent, Peter Thorne, Jay Bothroyd, Chopra, & Earnie
Loved the lot of them by my favourite would be Carl Dale scored goals in the worst City side of all time in 95-96 but apart from that he never stopped running, he loved the club & was full of commitment
