F**k Me

Having worked in marketing for the last 20 years,i can only applaud the use of management waffle and would like him to expand my 4 slide powerpoint presentation for tomorrow up to 15 so I can spin it out longer.

Nothing we dont know and dressed up as as exciting news also reaks of double accounting in regards to the 100mil as well.

Personally and this is my first and only comment on rebranding . I will always support the team(long term season ticket) will not buy any merchandise in red or with that poxy badge on it.

Your absolutely right he owns a Sports TV station he wants to attempt to sell the clubs games but who the hell would want to watch.

£100m tells me he thinks people will.

But anyway, yes, this is just platitudinous drivel. Nothing new, just trying to present it positively. They'll turn even reds against them if they continue to talk BS.

Wish they'd tell us the truth, but then you''d have the morons on here going into meltdown so it is a juggling act.

If people are pissed off at all it should be at having to pay Scam $10m after all the Langston bullshit over the years

So I would!? And how the hell would you know that?

Iv said in a previous post that I think he's living in dreamland but I don't know shit.

I don't have to go into detail about how many years Iv had a ST for or how many away games Iv been too to warrant the fact that I am a "Die Hard" or a "Real Fan" if I didn't care about the club I wouldn't be posting here and letting my feelings be known.

So stop trying to belittle me and try picking holes with someone else.

Have you ever considered that perhaps it IS the truth?

If not, perhaps you could tell us what you think the truth of the matter really is.

Re: " Vincent Tan Statement "

There is simply no way that is the truth, everyone has recognised if for a spin

I won't pretend I know what the truth is, but I'm 99% certain it isn't that

I agree here, but I might have put it a little nicer :D

The reason I don't personally post on the rebranding/investment issues is because I'm just waiting to see what the results are when the transfer window shuts and the season has kicked off.

When the window is shut we will have seen players come in (hopefully...) and i'm sure there will be statements released throughout the year on the financial progression of the club.

Some fans are in an uproar about the whole situation, and I really don't blame them at all (Even though I am all for the rebranding) But the more people shout and scream, the more annoyed off they will get. It seem VT and TG are trying the handle this the best they can, and all they can do at the moment is release the same information over and over, whether it be through statements from MM, VT, TG or whoever! Everyone in the club is spouting the same information.

So I would urge season ticket holders to keep their hands onto them untill something more substantial is said. I'm positive that further information will be released when it is available. I'm watching out for the following milestones

Langston Debt paid off - confirmed
Malkie's first signing - confirmed (i'm talking about money spent - not including Joe Lewis here)
Stadium plans confirmed
Training facilites location & plans started - confirmed
and the rest of the transfers.

I always check sky sports news for any further news on the club before I come here, and I just think that we have a major investor who has the best intentions of the club at heart, and plans to use it to make alot of money for us, and himself in the long term.

I think your underestimating the pull of npower championship a little bit! Its no ordinary second tier football division, in fact I'm sure I've read a few times that its one of the biggest leagues in the world 5th or 6th biggest and most supported if I'm not mistaken. He wants to put everything in place now and not wait until we get to the premier league going by his statement.

£10 mill goes to sam/langston leaving £25 mil

from that £25mil we are currently using £1.2mil per month (£14.4mil anually) on running costs and wages so up to next year...
^^^^current players and costs
so that leaves us just over £10 mil war chest for this year, including wages and agent fees etc.
^^^^ new signings wages and fees
now thats exciting and great that Tan cleared it up

Apart from the fact you have included wages twice, you have also left out the fact that club generates £20m p/a itself from Season Tickets/TV Revenues/Sponsorhsip etc.

Money the club generates? you gotta be taking the piss its LOSING £1.2 million a month thats after its income is taken into account

Someone needs to check their maths

Was'nt expecting anything new or earth shattering to be honest.being a city fan for 40 years has lead to low expectations and if we have to go red (not convinced myself) to survive, so be it but I did find the overall tone a little bit patronising and having worked for asian companies for the last twenty years or so i know that local market means diddly squat to them and they are always right despite what the man on the ground tells them. Not having a pop just clarifying my point.

Annis any chance of spell check on the site, some of us can't bludy tip wiv owt it

Agreed. But are we guaranteed premiership football? And could he have waited to rebrand when we did make the prem!? Atleast then we would have had more time to give our thoughts on the badge and strip.

Re: " Vincent Tan Statement "

Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:16 pm

Can't argue about the investment, but still don't think that we needed to change the 'primary colours'. By all means have a red away kit (again), but stick to blue at home.

The statement says nothing about red being 'lucky' or anything like that, but seems to say more about the badge. Tan seems to feel that the dragon is 'understated' on the current badge. We may represent the capital city of Wales, and large areas around Cardiff, but we are not the national team. Foreigners don't seem to get this. We are a club side, A Welsh one yes, but a club side. Most of us already support a team that plays in red with a dragon on the badge; the Wales national side. We are like LUFC to Yorkshire, or CFC or WHU to London. That's all.

Reading between the lines, the Malaysians, and the local directors, realise that they have gone too far here. Surely its not too late. Just stick to blue as a primary colour, and get a revamped badge drawn up (by a proper designer, please), which incorporates the Bluebird and Dragon. We can lose the daffodil, perhaps, from the old badge.

This whole fiasco has caused more trouble than I can remember at our club. The investment is welcome. All kits are 're-branded' to some extent, every new season. Just don't throw out the baby with the bathwater!

What the Hell was I thinking opposing the colour and badge change before hearing him out, and now that I have.... WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS HE CHANGING THE COLOUR AND THE BADGE FOR????

The only thing that message actually tells me is that VT can waffle for Wales... or New Malaysia as he'd like it to be called.... how can a message of such length contain absolutely no relevant or useful information.....

Happy with the statement, lets see what Malky now has to spend. There is no option to " Stay as we are"
