Which part are you finding difficult to understand?

Where his prior experience ties into his decline or stagnation when I put that list up. It seemed disconnected

Your list was players coming to play in this country for the first time and their resulting apparent decline/stagnation .

He doesn't fall into that category as he's already played well enough in this country to get a big money move to Germany.

I was mainly on about his second spell with you, and if Hoffenheim loaned him out he clearly wasnt performing to standard for them, they wouldnt have got rid of him otherwise.

Hoffenheim loaned him as he got injured the previous season and in the meantime, they changed managers and he brought his own players in. In 2010-11 he was named their player of the year.

He was player of the year for them...

Hernandez doesnt gt much of a look in but is no worse
Torres is excellent and always has been, Chelsea doesnt suit him
Forlan was awful when he arrived and improved with time
Shevchenko was always awful and has H
Berbatov has consistantly been excellent
Veron was always ribbish
Crespo was ok throughout
Hleb - probably your only valid one.#

so from your list is suggests he will stay the same or improve if we are looking at trends...

Its different ways of interpreting it

I see those players as having declined during their spell in england. You see them as stagnating generally. I cant convince you differently on that, and neither can you sway me. Just remember what I said. Don't expect to do better for you next season.

Not stagnating, the majority sugnifficantly improving. Ba was ok for West Ham and then incredible for Newcastle... Forlan was terrible when he first went to Utd and then started scoring cnsistantly after a while.. Berbatov has scored and played well whenever he has been given the chance likewise with Hernandez. Its not opinion - thats fact.

The rest of your examples arent examples at all. When was Veron ever good for Utd? When was Shevchenko ever good for Chelsea? let alone good for a period of months.

Its clear the vast majority of foreigners that have a good 6 month start to their career either carry on that form or improve. Not many decline. Hleb is the only one and he was hardly excellent when he first came, he was decent and turned average.

You are stating opinion as fact now. Don't.

ba has looked dodgy in front of goal every since he came back from the ACON, needs to be the main man or he is nowhere near as good
Forlan was the reverse I'll admit
Sheva and Veron both had good spells but weren't perfectly suiited to the english game, veron was uncomfortable but showed his playmaker promise in spells and Sheva scored a few key goals, most importantly his spurs goal
Berbatov - is a statpadder , he scored half his goals in 10-11 against 3 clubs FFS, and Hernandez had united fans raving last year, its not happening this year. fergie hasnt played them together this year and he knows far more about them than anyone here

Its not opinion its fact.

These examples were supposed to show players who set the league alight in their first 6 months ad then declined. Nobody comes under that bracket, yet you informed us that there were droves of examples to the point you felt it had become a trend and a pattern - one you feel was then reliable enough to predict future signings coming into the league.

Yet you havet supplied 1 example of this. thats odd.

Hernandez and Ba. I haven't made a snap judgement here, I have looked at foreigners coming in over a few years & feel they never seem to recapture their great original form.

Look Sigurddson isn't going to have the same impact he did within the first 6 months and that is how I have phrased it, doesn't have to be setting the league alight, it can be decent form ( Hleb ) and then stagnating/declining.

I seriously don't get why this has dragged on.

Very well, you've proved me wrong there I'll concede. But they still should have kept him if he was player of the year really

and gentlemen?

Sig bet.

If Sigurddson has a widely accepted better season than last, will change my sig to something of your choosing. If he has a worse or equal season, I win. Deal?

Why do Jacks always come on here pretending to be Cardiff fans?

There are quite a few, you're one of them.

Sig is a decent player but no world beater and as he is one of the few creative sparks in their side he will be watched closely by opponents. Doubt he will continue his impact next season.

Hi. I'm from Iceland, and would like to say a few things to "The Lad", I think.
First, "Gylfi" is the proper way to refer to him, no matter who you are and who you support. "Sigurðsson" isn't a surname, and no Icelander would refer to him as such. You should know this, having Aron playing for you.
Second, Gylfi transferred to Reading at 16 in 2005 and was with them until the start of the 2010/11 season and so isn't unfamiliar with English football. He then transferred to Hoffenheim and became an instant fan favorite, scoring 9 times in the league from about 15-16 starts or so (29 games in total), being named fan player of the season despite not starting more often. The manager consistently benched him, despite fans outrage, the first half of the 2011/12 season, and accepted a loan bid from Swansea in January. The owner of Hoffenheim publicly declared his surprise at the move and soon after the manager was fired and Markus Babbel brought in, who apparantly really wanted Gylfi back, saying so in the media almost every week, but Gylfi didn't want to go back to Hoffenheim, preferring the Premier League over the Bundesliga, and made no secret of that, and Hoffenheim seemingly have decided to allow him to go, because he wants to.
I know there's (obviously) a rivalry between Swansea and Cardiff, but I've had a soft spot for both clubs since I was a kid, liking the fact that there are Welsh clubs in the English leagues. I find it great there are now Icelanders at both clubs, and wish both clubs all the best. Your arguments however are stubborn, and (I hope not, though) kind of bitter, as you really want this signing to fail. Your luck must surely change soon, it would only be fair.
I don't think I forgot to mention anything, and surely mentioned way too much, in fact.
Cheers!
