Supported city since 1968, and in that time have put up with some bollocks on and off the pitch. If this proposed change goes ahead it will kill the passion of this great club. There are too many plastic fans who think the sun shines out of the Malaysians arse, and will simply follow what they say. I AM TOTALLY AGAINST this shocking and disgusting idea, we must fight these proposed ridiculous ideas, and take positive action if they are implemented, we must stand up and be counted united we must stand to protect the club, its identity and its fans. :old: :old: :old:

littlebluebird wrote:To the Board of Directors of Cardiff City Football Club,

RE: The Planned Rebranding of Cardiff City Football Club.

I am writing to you on behalf of the many supporters of Cardiff City Football Club. We collectively feel disgusted, disappointed and betrayed by the Board of Directors of our football club for considering plans to ‘rebrand’ Cardiff City Football Club. The changes that have been proposed include:

    a) The change of the Club colours from blue to red, including changing the existing stadium colour scheme to red;

    b) The change of our home kit to red, and the relegation of a blue kit to become an away kit;

    c) The removal of the ‘Bluebirds’ branding and ideal, which has historically been a part of our club since 1910, to make way for a dragon emblem.

We, as a group of supporters, feel that if these abhorrent changes were to go ahead, it would make a mockery of our Club’s history and identity, which has been present for over 100 years. We feel betrayed that our Club’s history and identity has been treated with such disregard to even consider these ridiculous changes.

The change implemented to introduce a white away kit for the 2011/2012 season was laughable enough, when this has been the colours of our most bitter rivals, Swansea City Football Club since their existence. The change of the home kit, and team colours, to red from the traditional blue would be a further insult. Cardiff City Football Club have played in blue and had blue as the traditional colour since 1908, making it 104 years of having blue as our Club’s colour. We, as a group of fans, are very happy to remain blue, and to remain Bluebirds, and do not welcome these proposed changes in any way. All of the information referenced above appears proudly on the Cardiff City Football Club website, suggesting that the Board of Directors are proud of and want to disseminate the Club’s history and identity. Therefore, we would like to pose the question to you, why do you want to make these ridiculous changes to our wonderful Club?

These changes will undoubtedly have a massive financial cost to our Club to implement. We find this difficult to accept as this money could be better spent in many ways, for example, to strengthen our squad and to give us the best chance of getting promoted in the automatic spots, and possibly even be promoted as Champions. Would this not be a better idea than wasting money on a complete overhaul and rebranding, being left with little money to invest in the team itself? Had we strengthened and invested in the team in the January transfer window, then we may well have been promoted to the Premier League this season.

If these changes go ahead, we believe that this will destroy Cardiff City Football Club, not only in terms of history and identity, but also financially and as a business. Many fans posting on social networking sites and forums are stating that should these changes go ahead, their support for the club in that capacity will cease, with the cancellation of season tickets being the main topic of discussion. Also, you as business men, have no idea of the dynamics and interests of football supporters if you believe that these changes would be well accepted. The sense of unity that has been created by the current branding of the Club will not be emulated should these changes occur.

We hope that you can understand the points that we have raised in this letter, and we hope that you decide not to advance with these proposed changes. Please find below a list of signatures in petition of the proposed changes.

It's simple, if these changes are made then Cardiff City football club no longer exist. I am a Cardiff City fan, If it goes....I go. If not immediately then slowly but surely my passion will fade away.

Cardiff Dragons! I still yet to believe a man would have the bollocks to try it.

This won't happen ffs.

I don't care if we bought the best players in the world during the summer, we'd be playing in front of our record low attendance on the first game of the season.

We are who we are....and I'm pretty proud of that

Cardiff is blue

I can see cardiff being a 2 team city if this fucks up
Ala FC United and Wimbledon FC.

If you want to create a buzz -get some signings and put some standing in.
I hate the CCS - gets worse every time I go.

Drop some ticket prices and use the millions u were going to miss spend on branding more wisely.
Get the away kit red and the TV rights for away games VT.
(We're usually better and noisier at away games!)

100% against it
the fact that cardiff city had an identity and passionate support was what attracted me to the club when i moved from england 3 years ago,ive now been to 102 consecutive games home and away and would rather go to peterborough in the famous blue than man city in red
