Other than the obvious 10 points deduction, one of the main reasons why they are down the bottom end of the table is also associated to their financial situation, in that they haven't been able to afford to bring any Championship standard players in!

An example of this, is to have a look at the bench they've put out against some of their opponents in the league this season, as they haven't even been able to put their full allocation of 5 subs on the bench and recently only had 3 subs on the bench!

Pompey administrator Andrew Andronikou told creditors that the club's huge Premier League wage bills had contributed to debts of around £130m.

Andronikou pledged to put in place a £10,000 a week wage limit following relegation and an agreement to pay creditors at the rate of 20p in the pound owed.
But Andronikou said: "We have had to push out the boat for Kitson and Lawrence.
"Their wages are £19,000 and £20,000 but it was something we are comfortable with.

"Gone are the days when extraordinary pay packets put the club in financial trouble.''

John Utaka, David Nugent and five other players remain at Fratton Park on Premier League wages while experienced Kanu and Ricardo Rocha rejoined last week."

reminds me very much of the kav wigan situation in 2005 here, from our point of view this is great, strength on the wing means we can move cowie into the centre which imo is his best position

im happy with the signing but to be honest i dont really give a shit about portsmouth ,the simple reason no one gave a shit about us when we were fucked and having to sell our players ,they were trying to get em all on the cheap...unfortunately it happens so if we can get some deals from those clubs then lets do it.

Good championship player on 20 grand a week but lacks pace and is injury prone. a Pompey legend . Just hope it helps our club survive by offloading him.
