As me and a couple of the lads said,
'Best loss' in our History...

The lads gave EVERYTHING and more.
I've never walked out of a ground on a losing side
being so proud

Not only did we show the UK what we are about but
the whole World had eyes on that game

The players were An absolute credit to the Club, to us, to Wales and to Malky.
And to Malky, you have transformed this club and brought back our Idendity as one Unit
with no divides

Long may that continue

Up the Celts

Lads, the way you played, your attitude and the dignity that it was done you should all walk tall with your heads held up high. As I personally can not remeber feeling as proud as I did yesterday when all was done. We went toe to toe with one of the giants of world football and took them all the way. Anthony Gerrard you have nothing to be sorry for...keep your chin up.

Now lets go and make the premier league!

My proudest moment in 51 years of supporting our club. Each and everyone of you were heroes yesterday, along with you Malky Mckay - the most passionate manager I've ever seen at CCFC. Lets not forget the supberb backroom staff and the players who played in the earlier rounds.
A VERY PROUD DAY FOR EVERYBODY ASSOCIATED WITH CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL CLUB

Re: " Official Tributes Thread "

I have never shouted so loud
and suffered for it today, by my efforts were miniscule to yours yesterday.
you made every Cardiff fan proud
if there were such a thing as 110% yesterday I witnessed it.
yes I cried, i cried for the effort you ALL put in
to be robbed so cruelly at the end.

WELL DONE TO ONE AND ALL :ayatollah:

Thank you very much, nips

As fans, we can only ever demand 100% and yesterday everyone involved gave us that and then some.

For that I thank you all. I ask that you get your heads up and give us another 14 performances like that and you'll be on that stage every week next season.

CraigCCFC said it would be nice to do something to show the lads we care and appreciate their efforts yesterday. So one of the things I thought we could do would be to do a tributes thread where you all post up something positive (any ridiculous negativity to be deleted please!) to the players and then maybe Carl or Annis could print it off and pass it on to the players so they can read this out.

It might be a good way for them to realise how highly we think of them. It will let Miller know that his late miss was unlucky because he did outstandingly well to get into that position and create the chance. It will let Rudy know he performed much better than a £35m rated target man. It will let Gunnarsson, Cowie, Whittingham and Mason know that they matched a Premiership midfield. It will let Super Kev and Taylor know that they held tight and stopped dangerous wide men from putting decent crosses in. It will let Turner and Hudson know that we respect how much they put their bodies on the line. It will let Heaton know that even though we lost the shoot out, his save was one of the best penalty saves ever. It will let Blake and Kiss know that their brutality made sure Liverpool did not settle. It will let Tony G know that know matter what he thinks, it's the fact he stepped up that matters to us, not that he missed. Like I said, anyone can miss a penalty but not anyone can have the balls to step up to the plate. It will also let Malky and his staff know that they have evolved this club for the better and that there is a job to finish here with a legacy to be made that could last for decades.

So lads, give your thoughts here and if I could ask Carl or Annis or anyone close to the team to print these posts off and pass them onto the players. :ayatollah:

Sorry i do not agree i believe the only way to show our appreciation is to fill the ground with our supporters to the rafters and from the first whistle put as much effort and noise suporting them as the effort they put in trying to win the cup for us.

Sorry thought 6this was a forum message board my mistake :D

Watched my first game in December 1964, watched that famous victory over real madrid, have followed the city all over Britain and europe, have seen the ups and the downs, got up at 6am yesterday morning, caught the 8.07 train from Neath and got back at 1am this morning, getting to sleep by around about 2am, was up for morning training at 4.30am, just 2.5 hours sleep, just got home after work and am falling to sleep whilst eating my food, and all for what? The proudest day I have spent following the city during all that time.
Malkey mackay and our team did us proud and I feel proud and privileged to have witnessed it.
Just one more thing would put the icing on the cake for me and that would be the first song on Sunday from everyone in the ground to sing exactly as we did at wembley loud and proud. " there's only 1 gerrard" because if any city player is hurting, it's him, and it is all for real, he needs a lift and we can provide that come Sunday.
Last but not least chaps, all those who were there yesterday, you did our club proud, great effort. Now I know why I support the city :ayatollah:

What is there left to add other than " You did us so Proud" i cannot begin to express how much passion and true grit you all showed, you did not lose the game of football, in fact you could say you won the football, but yes okay not the penalties or the trophy, but you gave the City, the country of Wales and the clubs entire fan base world wide, the true meaning of being a Bluebird, you should be so proud of what you all have contributed to, from Malky and all the back room staff, the players and the owners, you all have showed us fans that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, there is a road to glory.

I can honestly say that I have never been so proud of the way you played and fought to try to bring home the silver ware, we are a family at the CCS we all love to live a dream and now we have the right people in our family to live that dream.

May we have many years together as one...... BLUEBIRDS :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Pride, passion and determination on every single player who stepped on that field was 100%. We couldn't ask for any more from our team. Something I've always stuck by a saying from the good old firm "Goonies never say die!"

Never been more proud of our team and management for the effort they give from the 1st minute until the end. :ayatollah:

Never felt so proud being a City fan, the jubilation when Big Ben scored our equaliser is unrivalled, hugging other City fans I've never met sharing the same pride in our team's colossal effort, never forget that moment.
The club, the team and the fans (who I thought were brilliant) can be equally proud of their showing yesterday in front of a worldwide audience.
We made many more admirers yesterday which can only further our development and improving our image in the game. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Stand tall every one of you, you gave your all and wore your hearts on your sleeves. We are all so proud of all of you, the football world witnessed a performance of guts and determination and the name of Cardiff City has found new respect because of what you guys did in that final against opposition that cost/are worth hundreds of millions. I've always been a proud Bluebird but that performance has shown the doubters that this team fight till the end. :ayatollah:

Well done lads, a truly magnificent effort of which we can all be proud. If ever there was such a thing as glory in defeat then yesterday displayed that. Now let's go and achieve the MAIN OBJECTIVE, promotion to the premier league so we can play sides like Liverpool every week! :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Re: " Official Tributes Thread "

Mon Feb 27, 2012 9:55 pm

Ever since I was introduced to Cardiff City FC back in 1980 I witnessed many highs and lows, at the end of the game I was to experience another low, but this was soon turned into a high to have seen such a fantastic performance by a team that resembled the Gladiators.

From the days of 1 of 2,500 standing under the floodlight on the Bob Bank to standing side by side with 30,000 + City fans to see one of the best games that we must remember ended 2-2.

Well done lads and well done City fans for giving our boys the support there performance deserved.

You are all WINNERS

My 7 year old boy said to me on the bus on the way home "Dad, Cardiff City are the best football club in the world - I am so glad we support them"

We will remmeber the 2012 Carling Cup final for the rest of our lives!

Been a City fan since 1971 since my late father took me down as a 7 year old :old:

I'm now a season ticket holder with 2 of my daughters

In May last year I felt I was losing my passion after our collapse in May. I feared I would never get that back.

Well Malky and your magnificent players; you have restored that passion that I thought was gone forever. I have seen City win some unbelievable games over the years but that performance tops the lot. Every single member of the squad displayed a commitment that goes way beyond anything I've seen before.

We can't repay you for the pride you have given to this old club and it's supporters, because whatever we do won't last the lifetime that the memories you gave us will. However, I, and my daughters, will scream support for every minute of the last 14 games and if you give us what you did on Sunday then you will etch your names in the history of this club even deeper than it already is.

THANK YOU, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
