LETS HAVE A REALITY CHECK:
1) We're fourth in the league
2) We're in the Carling Cup Final
3) We lost 12 players in the summer
4) We have the lowest losses in the league campaign compared to other teams

YET PEOPLE STILL MOAN!

At the beginning of the season, people were happy to accept consolidation at mid table, considering the mass exodus of all the big players. But somehow Malky has surpassed all expectations.

The team is still rebuilding; we have brought in 13 players (including loans) since then, and the squad is relatively young with a bright future; with the likes of Ralls, Mason, Gestede, Gunnarson, and Turner

I may not know the whole poltics of the club, what is going on in terms of transfer money, wages and targets......but at the moment we have what we have and so work with it. At present, Malky has done an amazing job, and I do agree with Annis arguement dating back to October we'll need at least 2 to 3 players to push on for the play-offs, I will not dispute that.

But, I wouldnt be disappointed if they dont come, just watching some of the games thus far shows what is to come when the team is at full strength and recruit more in the summer.

In terms of why players are not coming here.....well my opinion is, originally Malky had very limited funds in the Jan window.....and I dont think the board were convinced to spend big....but the semi final win only convinced the Malaysians otherwise, and by then it was too late. Another factor, which I agree with Annis, is the type of players he wants- I'm sure this is a good thing, its important to have players with a good team ethic, who work hard, and have a lifestyle which benefits the team harmony. Not the big egos we have had in the past. It is quite pleasing to see our team working the full 90 minutes, even when we are losing, they're still trying hard- for me Portsmouth game was probably the best example, and to an extent the Borough and Brighton game.

But lets be honest, we shouldnt force the issue of signing players, if they dont fit, they simply dont fit at all, and could damage all the hard work that has been put in by the management and the team. Lets be honest, I couldnt see players like Bothroyd, JET and JLS playing in the current squad, despite their high potential.....I would always be grateful for the contribution of Bothroyd but some things are probably best to be left in the past.

But anyways, lets not lose the fact, that we're still in the top 6, and there is a long way to go before the end of the campaign. So lets back the boys on Tuesday night, they'll need us more than ever. :ayatollah:

Very good post! Some fans need to realise a lot of this before getting overly negative :ayatollah:

Not moaning, I have always stated we needed strengthening since Oct, if we are to go up as top 2 or to go up via the play offs.

Everyone knows we needed a squad with strength in numbers wise and quality within it but nows its to late i feel but Saying how it is annis like you have is moaning or being negative on here according to some people.I get it all the time along with other things thrown at me in threads for more or less saying the same things,so be greatfull you only get the "moaning" or "negative" replys off some people as i get alot worse :ayatollah:

Annis, you and I both know that money talks when it comes to transfers. We had £3 million accepted for Sordell and he prefered a move to Bolton to get a better pay packet. Noone was £1.5 million and the chairman blocked the move so not alot can be done there and Phillips we bid £1 million for and Blackpool turned it down because Holloway reckons he's worth 5 times that. Malky did say there were other players he looked at and enquired about but the clubs wanted way too much for the players or the players demanded way too much in wages. The only thing wrong with the transfer market for us was that players and clubs were being far too greedy

I agree, money talks and we should be signing quality players, something is wrong.

But if the Malaysians are propping up the club with £1m a month as has been reported on here, where is this extra money for quality players supposed to come from?

I thought you all wanted to be self sustainable rather than relying on rich benefactors?

Carling Cup worth up to £4 mill and we have just sold 9,000 season tickets.

The money for those season tickets is money for next season though, not this season.

How have you made £4m out of the Carling Cup? :? And even if you had, that wouldn't even cover the money the Malaysians have apparently put in this season to keep you running.

Earnshaw, a question everyone wants answering.

i ask this as its a plan b.you seem to have one way of playing.if you end up lumping balls in the last dregs of a game then you,d have to put that rudy fellow on and surely earnie would be in his element getting on the end of the bits.earnshaw is one of those forwards where one goal will set him on fire.he,s also won promotion so he knows how to get over the finishing line.he would be like a new singing.it must be frustrating for ccfc fans but like iv said maybe you,ve a manager and owners who want to make the club properly solvent.if malky is fussy then he has the clubs welfare at heart.annis both our clubs have been close to death so where both are in the league table is a miracle.i knew c.h would get us competing and had faith in him but he surpasses my optimistic hopes.malkys done great for you.i thought you,d spend the season sniffing around the play offs so to be right uo there is amazing i.m.o.plus wembley.

Re: " IS MALKY BEING TO PICKY ? "

the main key is strength in numbers.. we dont have this luxury.. we have a decent back bone, but so do many other teams....

work rate gets you the intensity for 90 mins great but you only need 1 min of quality to win you the match. something we are lacking deeply.

we are predictable, and i know we are building, but poor performances by some other teams and grinding out certain results has got us to wear we are today..

why throw it away and say theres always next yr??? you dont run 15-20 miles of a marathon just behind the leader to think , f**k it, ill drop out now and try again next yr...

£750,000 up to and incl Semi-final. £1m ill from gate receipts at least from the Final. Club shop will take up to £1.5 mill. It took £1.3 mill in 2008 in 3 4 weeks. TV money, sponsorship, increased season tick sales. We have already secured massive new sponsorship because of reaching the final, which will be revealed soon worth over £500,000.

Cheers. Don't forget though that the money taken in the club shop isn't pure profit.

And if the Malaysians have subbed you £1m a month all season, then it still doesn't even cover that.

NJ, I def knew that it was not all profit from shop, but the prices they charge for pure crap, they will make £700,000 from there.
Also, the Malaysians have covered our stadium in their adverts/flags etc etc. Our shirts are covered in their country, they have up to 9 of our staff from our wage bill out in malaysia helping them, not us. We are on TV over there all the time. They are well in with their Prime Minister and VT has been using City to promote himself with the top people. The exposure they get is beyond. They get by far their moneys worth.

annis, sorry mate but please dont tell me you are serious with this post!

Do you really believe VT needs cardiff city to promote himself in malaysia. The guy practically runs the country. He was allegedly behind the arrest of the opposition leader for "sodomy"!!!

I really dont understand your beef with them. They pay to advertise on our shirts so it's their right.
and if they want to put up malaysian flags so be it. nobody complained when braces bread covered the whole roof of the bob bank

Watch out in the year 2013, VT is about to become owner of some of the most richest land in Malaysia and big deals are happening with him and their Prime Minister. You do seem to be against them in a lot of your posts though (without expressly saying it). I couldn't be happier with the way they seem to be running things at present. you have got to admit the club is looking far more professional now than i ever remember it.

I am enjoying my football more than ever. DJ made a fool of the Malaysians in my opinion and theirs to, so Malky is suffering because of that, in my opinion. Do they know much about football, no. i think he is, its been plain to see whilst kenny will score goals we dont have anyone else to help take pressure off him! when we bring on rudy or mason we look more threatening, so i feel we need a goal scorer not just someone who fits malkies profile! billy sharp for exsample, not full energy maybe but scores at this level, and before anyone says we got ernie sorry heis not going to score any where near enough goals for us to small doesnt hold ball up, doesnt pass never has done! always offside!

The problem with DJ/Riddller was players were never properly scouted and huge contracts dished out to inconsistent players. Malky is being picky because he has a much smaller budget and it appears that his policy is to sign a mixture of young hungry players (Mason, Harris,Turner, Taylor) with a mixture of hard working journeymen (Cowie, Conway) to compliment the likes of Whitts, Hudson and McNaughton who have been regulars for past few seasons.

Re: " IS MALKY BEING TO PICKY ? "

I think malky had a crop of players he wanted but we couldnt afford them..........No one at the club expected us to be in this position.the whole season was meant to build a team of owned players(assets) secure championship football and have a good crack at it next season.....I think the malaysians have given malky a certain degree of financial backing but not enuff for the players malky wanted.....In all honesty i think the club are not too bothered if we dont go up this year....although im a little bit gutted on our recent run,i remain hopeful that we can secure a playoff place then who knows......but if we dont go up so be it.....next season will be different!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My opinion :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
