What does my head in is people saying 'Loans are pointless and we dont need them' because that is utter horse s**t.
Just because we had JET and JLS mainly but people didnt realise they hadnt played bugger all for their teams they play for (arsenal and bolton). Kiss has worked wonders and i think is a great player.

I can put up with the team we have now but a fresh face is needed. We can stay in the mix and it dosent take much to do that! :ayatollah:

Along with Middlesbrough huh ? ;) . I just hope we play better again Leicester than we did last time in the league at home, where were were truly awful.

Brilliant in both the palace games IMO.
We have has some hard games.

People think brum getting a draw at St Andrews against Soton is a good result for them.

Yet we have no praise for our team going to St Mary's and getting a draw despite there amazing home form.

Getting a draw away from home is always a plus, but it was the dire performance that was the worry .Yet again we really should have been out of sight in the 1st half and then the 2nd half display was one of the worst I can ever remember - I can't even remember us having the ball at all in the 2nd half in Southampton (and yes I went down there) . I'll not count cup games, they're always a lotto and for some teams an escape from their dire league form , not to overlook the brilliant job the team have done

Let just hope the team has a reaction and comes out with a great performance and make up for the shitfeast this weekend, where it looked for all the world the team were thinking of Wembley

I keep on reminding myself of certain pre season posts on this mb, stating that our owners wanted to "consolidate" this season????
If true, then they must be pretty much happy with the way things are going, so far!

I said on Friday Annis that I had a bad feeling about this game as historically Blackpool have a very good record against Cardiff in Cardiff, Blackpool have now won 10,drawn 13 and lost only 10 of the 33 league games in Cardiff whilst at Blackpool they have won 22, drawn 7 and we have won only 4.

Those stats are historical fact so yes I would say they have the sign over us.

Another interesting Stat is the the last 4 games where Keith Stroud has been the referee were Cardiff 1 Blackpool 3, Cardiff 1 Brighton 3, Cardiff 0 Barnsley 2 and Preston 6 Cardiff 0. Not saying he had much to do with the result yesterday but it is now a fact that he has overtaken Steve Tanner in the list of referees we always seem to get poor results with.

We have a fairly decent record at the CCS but have lost every game Mr Stroud has been referee of. Not to Football League cut us some slack and send him somewhere else for the rest of this season, and next and the one after. THANK YOU.

Still some way to go to beat Andre Marriner though :o :o :o :o

I totally agree Annis. The only reason i can think of in not doing so is a set budget & financial constraints, after all, the Malaysians are still not in overall charge, & langston, PMG, & Ranson still need settling, don't they???

Gary,

Those stats don't look good for us, I remember always going to Blackpool and feeling that we would struggle to win at their place, never knew we struggled so bad at home to them as well. As to the Ref, please we dont want him anymore with those stats.

i agree 100% with the original post by Annis.Players HAVE been needed and in my opinion it was OBVIOUS that these players who have been doing well would would get tired or just burn out .At least 3 players have been needed to see the season throughThis not just a reaction to yesterdays result as somewhere along the line it HAD to happen

why would anyone not think at point at saints is,nt a good result?our point at home to them yesterday was a decent one.i believe on a green not white pitch we would have beat them.all in all conditions wise i have to be happy.i,d say if any ccfc fan feels a point at southampton is,nt a good one they need to look at their expectations .my point about the carling cup final and players was proven last year.lads who played in that final must have been patched up for weeks as after it they fell like stones.if ccfc are patching players up after the final it will be apparent.thats why you need like for like players to drop in.they need to match fit and ready to go.whatever the the result at wembley the final could take a lot out of your players mentally.all the things above need to be considersed.im talking through experience .winning the final dosn,t mean you,ll go on a roll .check bcfc out last season

Jacks managed last year without many signings in Jan and utilising a small squad.

a very good point.did they have bad injuries though?i take it they bowed out the cups early as well?a tight squad is good,he problem is if a few get knocks, lose form etc.at birmingham we,ve played 40games already.we,ve no left footed proper wide man now as we sold jb to wigan.we,ll be ok with what we have for play offs but c.h knows we need a few bodies.im just saying in the case of ccfc a few new faces to freshen up wouldn,t go a miss.don,t forget you play a high tempo pressing game.you need to be fit and injury free to continue that.i hope you do well as long as it is not at our exspense :D the final ,win or lose can either boost or drain you.last year we went downhill.hope you win it though

Neil, But a team does that once in every 10=20 years. You never know we might, but I honestly believe it will hurt us in the long run, that we have not strengthened.

the answer to this is in the maccydee quote.key words WITHOUT MANY SIGNINGS.they did sign some.think that cements the debate that a few new loan singings wouldn,t go a miss at ccs .nor at st andews

Got slated for saying something similar.

There's no doubt we lack some quality in attacking options. While we are a hard working team when some players are jaded they just can't keep performing.. It’s physically impossible. As they don't have the quality to fall back on that's when we struggle. Take Cowie for example, who typifies our team. Works his socks off but when he's jaded what else can he offer if he's not as industrious as usual? Little I'd say. So we need more quality and bigger squad.

We should have boosted the squad in October in order to have more options and to keep the squad fresher. Unless we get some players in soon I'm worried that performances like Saturday will be more frequent.

Let's be perfectly honest though. The Jacks had something we do not... pace and some guile... in Borini, sinclair and dyer they had some match winners. Hurts to say but their pace and counter-attack was key to the end of season run-in.

Re: " LETS PLEASE BE HONEST "

Mon Feb 06, 2012 12:27 pm

Let's be honest...but not too honest because you get shot down for speaking too much truth.

Cardiff should have strengthened the team MONTHS ago !!

3 mill bid for Snoredell??? should have had Matt Phillips for that and he could have done the business for us instead of those Tangerine tosspots because lets be honest, they are an average team at best without both Phillips !!.

I'd like to believe that Saturday was a one off, but the last few games (Crystal Palace aside) we looked tired and jaded and lets be honest... Kenny Miller shoud be hitting the target more than he has been... but having a ball lumped up from the back isnt going to get you many goals !!

Malky had better do something quick or we are going to slide down the table, just as his Watford team did last year !!!!.

Absolutely spot on post there, Conway and Cowie are too slow to play effectively on the wing, our counter attacking game away from home falls to bits because of the lack of pace on the break...hence all the draws we have managed away from home !!!

Didn't Blackpool (where I think Ian brought in 1 new player) and Burnley do the same just a few years back and most prob all 3 teams had a lower wage bill that us too

Like I said on this board , be careful what you wish for, because sometimes it comes true .

So many on here wanted City to run a tight ship and will with in its means (which we are doing) but now want old Vincent to slash the cash the Club simply hasn't got
