So am I delusional when I say there are ST holders at the Liberty selling their seats for about £15?
It muat haave been a mirage when I got offered that for the Swansea Bolton game....no it could have not been as a mirage only happens in the desert.
Not at all. There are bound to be some plastics. The difference is though, there will always be someone to buy that ticket as every game is sold out with only 1,500 match day tickets available which go within hours of going on sale.
Therefore a moot point.
Glad you admit to that. However from 8,000 to 16,000 ST holders I think its a bit naive to say there will be some plastics about. lets see if you can hold onto them like we have since our FA cup final appearance.
The only way to guarantee a seat for this season was to get a season ticket. Previously fans could just buy on a match by match basis. That's almost impossible now. And with with 90% of ST's being sold prior to the play off final, the number of plastics is minimal.
Minimal, we will see.
For every plastic who has bought a ST, there is a very long queue of people who would be happy to purchase that ticket off him.

I guess the question is who in the premier league could we be a big us under the right circumstances, Everton (ave 33k), Newcastle (ave 48k) or just Fulham (25k). Obvioulsy we would get more than our current ave 22k.
Personally I think we could fill 35k every week in the premier league (Ave 34.5k) providing travelling in and out was easier.

Given that we were in League Two when that was built, yes.

Shame it wasn't a little more amitious though. like 27,000 whats that 6500 tickets at say £25 a pop only £ 162,500 per game, what was your last home gate in league 2 ??Ignore your fans at your cost. I'd be pointing the finger at your board and not ours.

It's a good point though, when the Liberty was built, no-one could have predicted that we would rise up the leagues like we did. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
As for yourselves, would expanding your stadium go in stages of say 5,000 at a time? Or is it a lot cheaper to lump an extra say 15,000 or 20,000 in one go?
Amazes to think back to when I was a kid and the attendances that both teams used to get compared to now.

scotsjack wrote:Not disagreeing with you, its very frustrating now. But, the plans for the Liberty were approved a few years prior, and at the time, 20,000 probably seemed over the top.
Plus, as many on here are more than happy to point out, the Council built it. As I said, I agree and find it very frustrating right now, and I also agree that you have a much better set up with regards expansion. But it is what it is.
Back to the original post, if you can expand by 5,000 seats at a time then that's the way forward, build the stadium as the club grows, don't go jumping the gun and put in thousands of extra seats until you know you're going to fill them.

My point was you had about 19k toward the end of your league 2 season in repsonse to NJ yet you built a 20.5k stadium.
Surely Championship would have brought that 19k back and some? He was quick to mock our ambition but I'd rather have ambtion and planning (and were only talking about planning) than to er on the side of caution and build a ground too small capping your revenue like yours is now. You planned to fail where as we planned to succeed cant see anything wrong or funny about that do you?

I will say it again, I believe eventually if we were successful enough in the Premier league, we could fill it for at least 8 games a season, plus other games of 45,000 plus. I am not on about Swansea, your max is 25,000 incl 5,000 away fans.![]()

You talk about bitterness?
You joined this forum in July of last year, you comment on a thread that had nothing to do with you, on a forum that has nothing to do with you.
I put it to you sir that you are bitter.
And a c**t.
