I know other 6ft4 center halfs who can head/tackle better than him and thats sunday league stuff as thats all hudson can do :ayatollah:

How thick are you?

It does not make me think these are facts and how it is,So your pittfull non contructive half hearted come back sentence makes you the thick one

If, as you say, everyone 'with two eyes and a brain' knows that Hudson is a 'cart horse', then why is nearly everything posted in this thread constructive/positive towards him?

And learn how to spell and punctuate. It makes a great difference.

The determining factor, for any player, should be "Are they Premiership Quality?"

If yes - keep them or sign them

If no - Sorry it's a tough world and our standards are getting higher every month

Only thing is Paul, what is "Premiership Quality?" I mean, who could have foreseen that Ashley Williams, Gower, Allen and Britton (to name but a few) would have been Premiership Quality. I certainly wouldn't. That's not meant to be a dig at the Jacks either.

I guess that is why I'm not managing a Championship club.

Agreed on some of the jack players who have really suprised me as have the Norwich boys. Both Norwich and Swansea had a policy of signing young hungry players on relatively low wages from lower league clubs/abroad and bringing youngsters through (Williams, Rangel, Allen to name but a few) as well as keeping a core of long serving players which enabled a footballing philosophy to be developed. Both clubs were well managed, coached and organised.

Dave Jones' way of getting promoted was to sign players on big wages and loan big names. It failed miserably! Hudson appeared a liability when he started and was much maligned (i was a big critic). However dave jones was tactically naive and used the zonal marking system ineffectively which lead to the defence looking poorly organised.

Under Malky we are well organised and the players know their roles and responsibilities. Defensively we are much stronger and Hudson has played a key role in this. The arrival of turner has helped as hudson and gerrard are very similar players.

Personally i think Malky will look for further defensive options before deciding on what to do with Hudsons contract. If no defenders are brought in during January Hudson will be offered a new deal.
