We had 16 shots today and 10 were on target and those 10 were nearly all goals but for some special saves by their goalie, who said we were boring. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Not the "Run the club sustainably and within set budgets are see where you end up" camp.

who mentioned running up debt.. with a few more players leaving on loan and some possibly perm, it frees up the wages, thus meaning we can bring in 2 or 3 on loan without altering the wage budget... :ayatollah:

Who is funding the transfer fees?

if its a loan, there wont be a transfer fee... just a contribution of the players wages...

The Malaysians have the money, they have the right manager, we are up there, we need strengthening. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Whilst I am keen for the board to support Malky, who by the way deserves 110% backing from the fans and the board for what hes done so far, for the first time in years, I actually enjoy watching our team play, and grind out results.

if i'm not mistaken, dont the Malaysians only own 50% of the club.

I'm not attacking the Malaysians or the board in anyway.....but say if I had a joint interest in some company, and only one party was investing continiously e.g. Malaysians for Cardiff and the other party e.g. PMG investing bugger all, wouldn't you be bit annoyed if you were the only ones. So why should we expect the Malaysians to put money in, if the other parties are not getting involved.

Apart from the 750k in prize money which Malky has earned in his own right through the cup competition, do we really expect more money to be given.

I may be wrong on how it all works, dont know much about the politics of the club, and I hope someone corrects me.......

I really hope we get at least 2-3 players, because instead of consolidating a championship position which everyone would have been happy with given the circumstances at the end of our last seasons campaign, I believe we can make a big push for the top 6 this season.

not unless the parent club demand it... it depends on the terms of the loan. at this stage of the season some teams are happy to get players off the wage bill, others are happy for them to get 1st team football..

Got to agree with this, it's not just up to the malyasians. At the end of the day they are business men and why should they throw money into something that they only own half off when the other half do nothing?

Anyway i'd be more than happy with one good permanent signing as i feel this side is good enough to do it as it is! I don't think we need more than 2

Re: " PURE CLASS TODAY and NOW ALL MALKY NEEDS "

At this point in the season we're lying 3rd and 2 points off top spot so the current squad must be doing something right, people are asking for 3 or 4 new signings/loans, is this request for players who will go straight in the starting 11 or players to boost squad numbers or a combination of both? Watching today's performance who would be replaced by these new players? Boosting squad numbers is a bit of a myth isn't it as people are suggesting get rid of Gyepes, Parkin and Earnie etc to free up wages for the new guys so realistically the squad numbers would remain virtually static but maybe there would possibly be a little more quality to call upon. Any loan signings would possibly come with the proviso from there parent club that they actually play in games and are not used solely for bench warming thus creating it's own problems, it's all well and good asking the board to finance 3/4 new players but will they give us anymore than the 14 that played today? A speedy winger would certainly be welcome but too many changes to the matchday squad could upset the balance and team ethic that the current players have between themselves, my philosophy always is "If it's not broken don't change it"

Malky has no doubt got funds available, he's admitted as much before, how he plans to spend them is a completely different matter.

He has already said on numerous ocassions that he will not bring a player into the football club that is of detriment to the football club. He's clarified this as being both in terms of attitude, but also whether the deal is financially sound for the club. He has said that he will not pay over the odds for a player, no matter who it is.

If we do not have a influx of player's over the next few weeks, it does not mean automatically that Malky isn't being backed. The right players have got to be available at the right price, or Malky will not do business.

He's building a squad here and spending a transfer budget, just because he has one, is not the way it would appear that he wants to do business.

I agree.....two quality wingers eg Kebe, Anderson and a Prem quality target man to give us a Plan B and we'll do it for sure. I think our first eleven is a match for anyone in this league but a bit of electric pace out wide and a target man with a goal scoring/making knack will give Malky a chance to change things when needed.

He's also said on numerous occasions that the deal has to be the right one, mentally, technically and financially. He's building a long-term squad here and will not pay over-inflated transfer fees just because cash is made available.

He's got his targets and if the deal is the right one he will bring them into the football club. If not, he will look elsewhere.

He's building a squad with a foundation and structure, the way he spoke earlier in the season, suggests that he holds any transfer budget as a personal budget and something that he intends to use wisely.

Re: " PURE CLASS TODAY and NOW ALL MALKY NEEDS "

Mon Jan 02, 2012 11:10 pm

"Anyone we bring in needs to fit into three charecteristics, have the right personality, technically be worth bringing into the group and be financially worthwhile aswell. Any player will need a combination of these 3 things. I am aware that we need to strenghten the group but it wont be to the detremint of them aspects. If we have to wait for situations to develop then we will."

That's from today's press conference, on CC Player. He'll only bring in the right player on the right deal. He won't spend a budget for the sake of spending.

A little tinkering is needed but too many changes could do the opposite to what we all want...a winning team that play for each other and look out for each other, would hate to see any of the current matchday squad drop out of contention to make way for newcomers, Kebe for Conway may be the exception to that but would his attitude fit in with "The Malky Regime"?

I think I would look for young hungry players for the future more than anything. Players like Mason. Would be brill as cover for anyone injured. :ayatollah:

Congrats on a good win for you today, we had a great win too.

I just looked at the table and there's one thing I don't get- you have w12 d8 l4 and a semi final, why the at least 3 players? You all seem to say you have great team spirit, why rock the boat by bringing in new players. Unless you need squad players.

I dont think it would help team spirit if you brought in big players who would walk into your team.

We need a winger, another striker for cover and a Midfield player.
We have no strength in depth, even Malky has asked for more players.

If i was malky (and thank f**k for cardiff city i'm not) if i was gonna strengthen now i'd be looking for 2/3 young players from lower leagues or abroad in the mould of mason or rudy who can step in if needs be but will certainly benefit the club in the future :ayatollah:

Best thing about recent events is the positivity from everyone at the club. Management, players, fans, drummer???!!!

I'm not sure if we need to rock the boat with new signings. I would take a chance with the players we have and hope for the best with injuries. Worked for QPR last season.

Especially with Southampton in free fall and the Hammers not pulling up tree's.

Of course, this is assuming we keep ALL our players in the transfer window.

Keep up the rabble-rousing Annis. You and Carl doing a great job.

Yeah we arent good enough. Two points away from the top. more than half way through the season. We are just lucky. In every match. I hope the Malaysians f#%k off. We are dooomed. Bring back Sam.

Come on guys. Leave Malky alone. And the Malaysians. We are doing fine. If the experts at the club believe we need new blood then we will get it.

If we dont strengthen and start losing then have a moan. Until then enjoy it. We you all really there when we were shit? ;-)
