I considered posting the apologies on this thread but decided against doing so as I did not post the offending remarks originally and thought it would be unfair and that I would be seen to be belittling the posters concerned.

Well, Carl, if you accept the apologies, that's your decision.

Personally, I'd expect the apologies were made seeing the strength of people's feelings about their comments; hence more out of perceived self-preservation than anything else. After all, there was zero reason to bring your daughter into things, and certainly they can't claim they were in the middle of a blazing row with you, making the comments in the heat of the moment.

Absolutely agree and I believe without this thread there would not have been any apologies forthcoming. I deliberately set out to name the 3 posters involved so it was about what they had done and not where they had done it. Which even with hindsight proved to be the correct decision and despite battling my own thoughts as to whether I will or won't post this thread, I believed that in doing so may prevent this happening further down the line to someone else. Judging by the reaction on this board then I think my decision has been vindicated and the fact I have received an apology from two of the posters has had it's desired effect.

Im sure we've all had disagreements in our postings but to involve the innocence of children into into the equation is simply unforgivable, the 3 involved should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves and a full written apology to yourself, your wife and your daughter should be the least these posters can do to redeem themselves if that is possible.

However, Mike's board has gone downhill over the past couple of years, in my opinion, due to a clique of (clearly) young blokes who think they are incredibly funny, comment on everything as if they are the Oracle, and post patronising rubbish to people who have followed the City longer than they've been born. They are smart arses who hijack good threads posting banal shite, which clearly, they all think is hilarious. I think it's pathetic the majority of the time. Someone will post something interesting, and then they'll all be chipping in with utter crap, to the point where the OP is forgotten. It's very annoying.

The three mentioned are, in my opinion, part of this group, and have gone WAY TOO FAR, when bringing family, and especially kids into the mix. They are young blokes (I think) which doesn't excuse their behaviour. If they had kids themselves, they'd realise that they've gone well beyond the line. I've got two daughters, and if anyone brought them into it, they'd know about it. I think you've dealt with the situation very well, Carl, and good on you for it. Keep the moral high ground.

You WERE right to name them. It's good to hear they've apologised. Hopefully, they've been taken down a significant number of pegs after this, and will think before they post their shite on messageboards.

Today I was told of a particular thread that was posted on CCMB and that there was mentions on there about myself and my daughter.

Now before I start to explain the reason for this post, firstly I will say I thought long before deciding whether or not to post this particular thread as it could and probably will create more angst between both message boards, but given the reasons behind it I have decided to make my feelings known on this board to hopefully curtail a situation or at best to stop it happening to anyone else.

I know more than most that when I post information on this board then I am accepting criticism or credit in equal measure and from all readers who wish to read it. I have never reacted to any comments made against me, despite some of them being insulting and out of order but the way I see it I am fair game and it is the nature of the beast.

But today in a thread on CCMB regarding job losses at Media Wales brought about posts by the users WJ99, Dom D'Orgeval and Alex and between the 3 of them they decided that my daughter, who is 10 years old, is also part of the game too.
Don't know what these people said about your daughter but even if it was nothing of any big deal they were still totally out of order. Your daughter nor any other member of your famliy should be brought into anything that you post on here as a Cardiff City supporter. Being a City fan and posting updates on here have nothing to do with your daughter or other members of your family. As you say these 3 people are now fair game and fully deserve everything they get from now on.

I have spoken with Mike Morris this afternoon and he removed the posts upon request but the more I have been thinking about it the more it has bothered me. I am not tarnishing every poster on CCMB with the same brush and I hope that no one else does either as there are many good people on CCMB and like any message board there are a few that will let the side down.

There is a moral issue to this post and that is this message board, and after speaking again to Mike Morris in the last 20 mins, and CCMB will not tolerate people's families and in particular children being brought into postings. It is neither necessary nor welcomed and I will warn anyone on this message board that if any poster chooses to go down that route on this board then you will be banned without warning.

In the past six months I have had disgusting posts removed regarding my daughter on a Swansea message board and though these latest posts are not of the same nature they are still immoral and I will not accept them.

I will reiterate I am fair game like the posters above are but mine and their families are not.

However Dom is usually a pretty good poster on CCMB and his comments seem to suggest that nothing malicious was intended.

Mike Morris has backed this up.

For those who for whatever reason refuse to go on to CCMB Dom said

If the above quote by Dom is correct then yes he and the othere were silly but to call then scum and vile and some of the other unsavoury epithets that have been bandied around this is to my mind considerably over the top.

I now also feel that to name the posters on this occasion perhaps didn't nelp the matter, unless what was said is worse that Mike Morris and Dom imply.

It should perhaps have been left to Mike as he has done to warn those involved and anyon else that any future transgressions would meet with severe comnsequences including naming and shaming.

The genie is perhaps regretttably out of the bottle now on that one

Got to agree with this, keeping this thread open is not helping the situation one bit!

Also to the person who who said get the police involved come on that's over the top. And everyone seems to be forgetting the incident with baker when his mother was sent abusive messages on Facebook from posters on here. But there was no mention of this being wrong or the people who sent them being called scum. This is one big over reaction im sorry. I can understand why Carl is angry but other posters are taking this way over the top. Apologies have been made, delete the thread and move on.

and to add to this any remarks that are typed can be deemed to to legal action and sued quite easily and very cheaply, i am sure any judge sitting would look upon an innocent child being attacked on a message board as a very grave act
