Just for once though can we not bracket everyone as 'scum' because they support a certain team ?

Fair enough. I feel sorry for the fans of Celtic and Rangers who just want to get on with supporting a football team rather than some kind of political movement.

You're right, It is a 2 way street Llantrisant Blue. It doesn't make it right though when Celtic sing IRA songs.

I agree i've got Irish blood and my Dad was in the R.A.F so i couldn't give shit about that side of things but about irish people dying is disgusting and i can't see why people can say how thats fine but celtic's do and it's not fine and get blamed for being in the wrong when the minoirtys are BOTH in the wrong.

I dislike both clubs and (most of) their fans and I'm a pretty tolerant person. Too much hatred and bigotry. A few years ago The Bluebirds Downunder played a game against the Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club of Sydney and these blokes were certainly an angry bunch of men at what was supposed to be a friendly occasion. Much to their chagrin we gave them a footballing lesson and the BDU are now the permanent holders of the 'Tony Vidmar Cup' as we refuse to ever have anything else to do with them so they won't be getting a rematch!

On holiday in Majorca, my wife and I were taking part in a hotel quiz. It was just a light-hearted event over a few beers around the pool. There was a Rangers fan taking part and I could see he was sneakily googling the answers on his mobile. He got a bit of friendly abuse but denied he was cheating. We had the last laugh though - we teamed up with a brainy German guy who would have made Stephen Fry look like Alan Tait - and kicked the cheating get's arse with a record score. A massive jug of sangria never tasted sweeter...

Be careful now, you'll upset the posters on here with Rangers leanings.

Let me make it clear, he was a cheating b*stard and the fact he supported Rangers had nothing to do with it

Lmao ccfc-louis? Rangers fans have got me away with sing murdering songs about irish people..which alot irish people follow Celtic what you expect them to do? just take it.
Mon Feb 21, 2011 2:56 am
Its just what Ive heard and seen on the net , Youve gotta agree that all that poppy malarky is bang out of order ?
Fair enough Rangers may sing songs aswell but I dont know both bang out of order .

Some of our fans are as bad as the Jacks for latching onto this Rangers/Loyalist shit, those Celtic fans that protested against remembrance were scum and were rightly so identified and banned. I also read of the in house fighting between that group and ordinary Celtic fans who were ashamed.
Before some of ours go slatting other clubs/fans, our fans glorify in songs about a mass murderer in Dr. Shipman which ends as we all know in he kills the English. No doubt none on this board had sung it though.
Get off your high horses and preach your loyalist cause to those down west who care for that type of thing, CCFC are probably the most hate club in the country because of our anti-English views and songs.
I have utmost respect for our soldiers and I know a few serving Celtic soldiers(one a neighbour) who have done something to stop those at Celtic park in acting in a appalling way, more what can be said about us with our Anti-English.

First of all i dont care for politics in football. I cant stand Celtic or Rangers and i hated it when those scum disrespected our soldiers. But the point of the original post was the atmoshere that was created with this chant not the politics of Celtic fans and lets be fair it was impressive. And what would we have given for us lot to have created an atmosphere like that on Saturday ? The original poster never said i love Celtic fans or in any way defended there pathetic political views he was saying it from a footballing point of view.

Spot on, many are far too quick to jump on the loyalist cause and slate Celtic. I fear we'll never create that sort of atmosphere at CCS, maybe away but at home we seem to have too many divisions in the camp to unite as one.

well said richard.
It makes you wonder whether certain posters will always hate Celtic and call them scum because they have their own far right, loyalist agendas?

Which is blatantly obvious, I dont follow either and would be happy to see both disappear but as a Welshman/Celt Id always want to see Celtic win for that reason alone. Screw the politics, its the football that matters. I wonder if those Gers hate McPhail, Marschall, etc.

They seem like a sad bunch of fans.

Who knows?
I do know that there is a tiny minority of ccfc fans who'd like to see CCS swathed in union jacks, red hand of ulster flags and WDL/EDL paraphinalia.
Luckily most City fans would rather leave all of that stuff to the minority of bigots at Ibrox and the Liberty.

Why don't they turn up with a Union Jack/Red Hand Flag to a City game and see what happens to it? I can't believe the shit written on here trying to justify their support to either club. If you want to support a loyalist club then F**K off and support the Jacks who subscribe to that shit.
It is well known fact that Rangers fans on the whole don't support Scotland and would rather be seen in English or Northern Ireland tops I have never seen the Union flag with Cardiff City on it and long may that continue, A red hand flag appeared on the old Grange End fence a few yaers back and was removed very quickly.
I cannot understand why we are discussing this on what is supposed to be a Cardiff City board

I just want to get something clear, I do follow Rangers, but no way do I support the wdl/edl bollocks.

Good man Billy. Leave EDL/WDL well alone. Some jacks seem to have a love in with the racists and loyalists. Leave the morons to it.

Some major generalisation going on here. First and foremost I really admire the passion both sets of fans have for their clubs. The Old Firm atmosphere is always electrifying. As for the politics, I disagree with both sides. I think football and politics should always be kept separate.
I've known a host of Celtic and Rangers fans over the years and I have to say so far the favouritism for me goes to the Celtic fans, but that's just a person by person basis and I do have the odd Rangers fan now.
It's impossible to judge them all but to be fair, I am probably sounding a bit of a hypocrit because I find it hard to like Leeds fans because I've met a lot and they are all stubborn, arrogant and moral devoided individuals! So yeah, I guess I am a hypocrit actually!

fair enough Billy you follow them for football reasons not because of sectarian ones
Mon Feb 21, 2011 1:18 pm
I find it all a bit pathetic both sides. The majority of them are Scottish and yet one half parade with union jacks and the other with the Eire flag. Clearly its all political.

Same as me. Don't really think I count as sectarian, being Irish yet following Rangers. I'd want checking into Whitchurch if I was

Can't the same be said for the Celtic fans and there affinity to Ireland and marauding the flag around like it is their own?
