Great update, very informative its good to know what is going on behind the scenes as it were.

Just a quick note regarding Burke, I know for a fact that his son is now living in Cardiff and is settled in a local nursery. Does anyone know if he has another son still living in Scotland? If not then I would see this as a massive positive in Burke staying certainly until the summer but hopefully signing a new contract :ayatollah:

So who told you that he was worried about his child in Scotland?

I thought it was common knowledge that the reason Burke was on temporary International retirement was so he could use these International breaks to see his son. Carl probably read this in the paper like the rest of us, he can't be 'psychic' about everything!

His son being in Cardiff nowadays may be further backed up by the fact that Burke's back in the Scotland squad?! All good news really!

All I know is that his son is in Cardiff, and his wife or ex wife is on the scene also so this suggests he is settled or at least trying to sort things out. I would be of the opinion that talks have been on going for a while, and sorting out his private/family life is an integral part of the contract negotiations. Perhaps the family move is on a trial basis, maybe DJ will not offer a new contract until until he is sure Burke is settled for the long term?

The only other suggestion is that Perhaps Burkes agent is in his ear due to him being out of contract and has potential offers for him up North and closer to home, even back in Scotland hence why talks have broken down. Either way, I would personally be gutted to lose Burke!!! top player with a great attitude on the pitch......sadly missed against Jacks & Forest

carlccfc wrote:Firstly let me start with what I put in my last update regarding the injured players, I said that all 3 ( Blake, Burke and Naylor ) would be fit to play against Forest. I had this information from a source I do not usually use for team news but he does give me plenty of other info on club matters, in fairness I spoke with someone within the club this morning and I was told that Naylor had a late fitness test and he could have been risked but DJ decided to give him the extra time, Naylor had a groin strain.

Burke on the other hand is suffering with a thigh/hip problem and I have been told that he will be fit for QPR. Ultimately I decide what I write and I take the knocks for getting it wrong.

Chopra was taken off yesterday at half time for tactical reasons and there is no injury concern over him.

The players trained this week and they worked on many areas of Forest's game and one of the dangers that was spoken of and worked on was not to let Lewis McGugan get the ball on to his right foot within shooting distance, unfortunately Darcy Blake allowed it to happen and the coaching staff were not best pleased.

Behind the scenes tensions have been running high and there have been crossed words on the training pitch and in the changing room, as I said previously certain players were not happy with the team formation against Swansea and 2 of them let their feelings known.

My concern is, particularly at home, we seem to be playing more of a system that try's to stop the opposing team rather than play to our own strengths. Is Dave Jones feeling the pressure of assembling a quality squad and finding it difficult to accommodate everyone of his stars in it ?

Dave has been suffering with laryngitis this week and that was the reason that Terry Burton done the post match interviews, another who has been ill is Steve McPhail he has been suffering from tonsillitis. The reserve match against Swansea City has been cancelled because of the illness' to both.

I am hearing again this weekend that Jay Bothroyd is telling fellow players and staff at the club that he is willing to stay until his contact expires and will then decide on his future in the summer, it remains to be seen what the club's stance will be.

Chris Burke is another who is considering his options, I understand that Burke misses his son who lives in Scotland and will wait to see what options are open to him or if he can come to an agreement with his ex-wife over his son.

Gavin Rae has turned down loan moves recently as they have been to far away from his current home and I am told that unless it is a club local to us, such as Bristol then he will not be moving out on loan as he feels he will have to uproot his wife and young twins for a short term loan and then look for a permanent club again in the summer.

I mentioned a while ago that back in February of this year Adam Matthews was offered a contract that he was " in the main " happy with but with all the goings on the contract was never finalised, I am told know that both Adam and his agent, Lee Robinson, are increasingly upset at the lack of communication with the club over his contract. Matthews' current contract entitled him to a new and improved offer once he reached 25 appearances he has gone way beyond that and yet he is no closer to accepting an offer and the word is that Robinson actually doesn't know who is in control of such issues at the club. Very damming to say the least and it is another worry of mine that if DJ is in total control of such matters, as I believe and am told he is, then we as a club are in a very dangerous position, what would happen if DJ receives an offer to manage at another club and he accepts, where would that leave us ?

Most will know I am a fan of DJ but I am increasingly concerned at the apparent control he has over most issues at the club, never have I known a manager to be involved in so many issues and the worry is there is no infrastructure in place, as far as I can see, in case of certain eventualities. Maybe VT is looking at this and could this be the reason for U-Juin taking a more prominent role in future months. Also I have to say it, but when we suffer defeats and more importantly performances like against Swansea and yesterday against Forest, who questions DJ, who does he answer to ? In the past we know that PR will have called him in and even had rows in away changing rooms, as much as we despise PR at least he did ask the questions.

Dave Jones has told Vincent Tan that the squad needs reinforcements in January if they are to realise their target of a top 2 finish. It is my understanding that DJ has highlighted 3 positions down the spine of the team and he has been told that there will be money available for him to recruit.

The Malaysians are astutely aware of the season ticket fiasco of last Christmas and the club has previously stated it's intention to sell season tickets in the normal time frames as every other club but I can tell you that in fact the club will be putting 21,000 season tickets on sell in February of 2011, of which those who are platinum ambassadors will receive the first of the five year price freeze. I am told that the club are avoiding selling them before February so they are not seen to be heading down the same route as Peter Ridsdale. If they did sell the season tickets in December/January and didn't manage to get our desired transfer targets then the Chairman could possibly face criticism, which they wish to avoid.

The club has not finalised the way in which the fans will pay for the season tickets but I know they are looking at all the options.

Even though Premier seats are being sold all year round there has only been 950 sold and the club recognise this as a huge cock up from a commercial point of view and certainly a missed opportunity, in February there will be another drive to push the remaining 1550 premier seats and there will be a rebranding of the levels.

The away section holds 2018 for those who wish to know or even care.

I have mentioned Peter Ridsdale and again it seems he is taking his spin to other clubs, as I said last week, the latest in line is Oldham and he has made some big promises to them, he claims the American backers will buy the club and invest in the squad and stadium but I have it on good authority that in fact these Americans have no money but in fact will be borrowing money to buy the club then will pass the debt straight on to the club itself.

It seems that each club PR is targeting all have stadium in need off development and this is where he sees himself and others making money, I wonder if he will convince PMG to join him ?

The club is making positive strides off and on the pitch and it is clear to see but there are still issues especially in the commercial department where there has been redundancies recently, I am hearing that sales for the Centenary dinner on December 3rd have been very slow and in fact less than half have been taken, now I hope that the event takes place because of what it is and with the postponement of the Halloween dinner where only 11 tickets were sold and the end of year player awards cancelled in April for the first time since 1972, the club could do without having to cancel this event, which I am told is a consideration they are talking about at present, there will be a big drive throughout next week to attempt to sell more seats.

One of the staff made redundant was Suzanne Twamley and she has been employed by the FAW, I don't like to hear of anyone losing their job so congratulations to Suzanne for finding employment so soon.

Vincent Tan is looking to spend more and more time around the club so much so that some of his siblings are to be educated at a private boarding school in Brecon.

Carl,

Lee Robinson is not a football Agent mate, he's a football consultant for Base, Baldwin like Ledley will be the Agent involved.

Steve, Lee Robinson is working for on Adam's behalf and he does not know who in the club is going to deal with Adam's contract.
