At least Willock crossed ball Tanner failed all night and couldn't even beat a player when he tried to... its not wonder salech fails most games given city players are like dracula hate crosses
Tanner delivered 8 crosses last night according to OPTA - one should have been a goal from Ashford and one late on was fizzed across the 6 yard box but no CF there to finish it. Tbh if we had escaped with a 2-2 draw it would have been the biggest smash'n'grab in history.
I don't deny Tanner had a poor game for him but he got more assists than any other player in L1 last year on a pro rata basis per game played. I think he was almost double the next best. Frustrating to watch at times yes but I think that's probably because he's always trying to make something happen, i.e. get past his man - who last night was the very impressive and diminutive Lamptey. If Ashford scores that 1st half header Tanner gets 2 assists. His vision for a pass is probably the best in the team. If he had the full package in his locker - he wouldn't be at Cardiff!
Agree with another poster, that Moylan, Salech and Rubin looked off the pace, all giving the ball away far too often. Moylan's only poor game thus far. One thing I did notice last night was the overlaps Moylan got from Scanlan and Ashford always giving him an option. Tanner gets less help from Ng and seems to be a bit more isolated, probably explains why he always has no option but to try and beat his man, prob with only something like a 50/50 success rate.

On the other wing if Bagan is playing left back he always gives an overlap outside. Ng comes inside every single time
