Really good spell of player for Rovers, which sees Kelly win a free kick high up the pitch.

I hope it's just a fitness issue but from the outside looking in it looks like bbm is preparing for a season without him

Maybe that's where this 7.8m has come from for the Norwegian midfielder?

Sell to buy

I think that could be the case with Lawlor otherwise where has this money suddenly come from

So we put in offer but we won't buy him unless we sell a player that as said is going nowhere? Great way to do buisness buy and we'll pay you sometime in future if sell player?
Sounds as daft as it looks!

I'm sure they wouldn't put it like that to the other club when negotiating a deal

Just saying it's strange we suddenly have 7.8m to spend on one player when last time in championship we didn't spend that all season

Everyone kept saying we couldn't spend big money because of ffp and now all of a sudden there's money to spend?

So what's changed?

Somebody in the thread said that FFP had changed & helped us but I don't know the details.

Yeah, I think we can spend more because of the new rules.

It's also worth pointing out that a transfer fee "up front" is not literally up front. Take this £6.2m initial fee, it would be spread over the length of the contract. So if we gave him a five year contract then spreading that fee over five years is not really a huge outlay.
