That's not actually the case.

We introduced new inadmissible rule in 2021 meaning the the Home Office can declare an asylum claim inadmissible if a person has passed through a "safe third country" on their way to the UK. Allows us to send an illegal immigrqant anywhere we have an agreement with. Obviously France is the latest but that is pretty pointless politiking.

However, absolutely nothing to stop us sending anyone arriving on our shores to any country we have an agreement with. That was the whole point of the Rwanda plan. We've just never had the political backbone to do so.

When even Macron is pointing out we are too soft and offer too much, then that says it all.

Whilst in eu we couldn't do anything about what we give migrants because eu law said countries must give them same benefits as indigenous people... hence why they all wanted to come to uk because eu countries don't have such free and easy benefit systems as ours.. now charities and lawyers use various excuses to stop us deporting anyone even criminals but do it within 24hrs of it happening as to prevent gvmnt appealing to stop it... simple truth is France and other eu countries do not want migrants staying in their countries so they just let them pass through until get to calais area... is it that hard to stop a slow dinghy being stopped and prevent people getting on? Maritime law says any vessels unsea worthy can be prevented from leaving a country now 60 people on a boat for 10 is surely classed as overloaded and unsafe?
Yet are allowed to leave the shore!
Perhaps trump as right idea? :laughing6:
