Tan won't sack anybody in October anymore. He was still hoping Riza could get us promoted in April when he sacked Riza. I actually think league one is so piss poor that Basil Fawlty should be able to get a tune out of this lot of players. But whilst we are on the sitcom theme, wasn't Brian Murphy forget the Barry, George from George and Mildred? Didn't George have a motorbike with a side car. Id suggest that Brian says he will take VT in his sidecar and dispatches him into the see on a coast road somewhere.
I was responding to pembroke allan who mentioned he would be gone then

Since then he's spent 3 years learning from one of the best managers around In pep so I am sure he's learnt a lot and is a far different manager from the one he was at Rochdale
And although not my first choice he does play an attacking high pressing style so I'm interested to see where he can take us

I think he may have deleted his post, my reply was supposed to be comedic, but it was lost.

It seems to me the board, vincent tan or anyone associated with cardiff city could do anything right, antonio conte, ruben amorim or pep guardiola could have had interviews and whoever out of the 3 who would land the job, every man and his dog would find negatives, pick holes and be fuming over the appointment.
Negativity breeds negativity.
Positivity breeds positivity.
When I first saw barry murphys name linked at the start i got excited and thought it could be a great forward modern thinking appointment for the team and club as a whole. Succeeding enzo maresca being boss of man citys academy and working in that environment close to pep and working with players like cole palmer, romeo lavia etc speaks volumes for me. Hes experienced being around a first team squad in the premier league and gaining invaluable experience working with ruud van nistelrooy and his wealth of football wisdom from his time in the game. He could have contacts in the game like pep,van nistlerooy, maresca etc, imagine how that could work out for the bluebirds? And imagine how his experience at man city academy can rub off and help mould the future of our academy and young talents and what that could do for the future of the club.
I for one can see this as a great appointment and he certainly has my backing if true.
Buckhingham could have been good too and would have had my backing.
But if barry Murphy is looking like the one I certainly see the positives and logic for the ones making the decisions to appoint a new manager
You really need to learn that working as a coach/assistant/youth manager is completely different to being a head manager of a professional football club - in the real world.
We've been down this route before with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who squandered a lot of money and got us relegated, despite having all these Man Utd contacts. It didn't end well. This appointment could be a complete and utter disaster.
You really need to learn that some managers got to start somewhere and dont just become amazing over night. Bit of learning for you from me fella, mourinho and zidane both worked as assistants before becoming a manager. Brendan rogers worked as head of academy before becoming a manager. All top managers.

Did you really just compare Barry-Murphy, who's only managerial stint has been getting relegated with Rochdale, to Mourinho and Zidane? Oh dear!

Same here Annis. It's a massive gamble, I can see potential, but we needed an experienced Manager who has done some team rebuilds and won a promotion or two.
Let's hope he can use his contacts to tighten up the gaps at the back, and add some pace and power. A decent keeper would be useful too.
