Great work from Cardiff. Nkounkou flies down the left before cutting the ball inside to Watters, who took the ball on the half turn before smacking a brilliant low shot, which was saved well by Horvath.

Trry looking next time rather than just blindly complaining.

Rather blindly complain about a striker who is out of his depth and costing us points than blindly support him. He’s getting laid a handsome amount of money for little return and I don’t see one goal being the start of some deluge I’m afraid

Pathetic response.

Its all Luton again.

We have 62% possession but have done nothing with it. Are we just Swansea in disguise?! Just seems like we are playing hoping for a miracle to actually score with two forwards who are allergic to scoring goals. Call me negative but it’s frustrating that we are in a position with having the play with these two up front it’s like welsh league standard

Romeo bursts upfield on a mazy run and does well to earn Cardiff a corner. Great work from the right-back.

You may not like my opinion (which is backed up by fact) that Watters is a failure up front for us. You may blindly think that one goal will suddenly mean the monkey is off the back and he will go on to score a hatful… but I think we all know that won’t happen. He is about as useful as Gary marine and probably less effective

Nkounkou hits a low cross into the box, but Horvath collects.

Re: MATCH THREAD: ‘ CARDIFF CITY v LUTON ‘ MATCH THREAD

I appreciate there’s a feeling we should just support him until he comes good… but I’m afraid my support has run out as it’s clear he is not good enough and to me doesn’t do enough to help himself either. If we all had to support everything without being critical and challenging then we would be sat here supporting the Redbirds

Done nothing with it...????

Are you watching a different game? This side is developing well and our ball play is a vast improvement on last season and several before

One goal and we (maybe not you?) would be waxing lyrical against a very useful Luton team

If you're going to be deliberately negative, at least know what you're babbling on about...

It's a good game why not speak about that instead of blindly complaining about two players who are not getting the sevice they want.... who missed a chance from 2yds why not complain about him? It's a good game which either side could win...

I never said any of that I was just pointing out that you're happily moaning about something that was obviously wrong. It's simpler to just say you were wrong about him not being mentioned and move on with your bitching and whining about him which you're entitled to do just as much as others are entitled to do the opposite but at least be honest when you state something as factual which plainly wasn't.

Re: MATCH THREAD: ‘ CARDIFF CITY v LUTON ‘ MATCH THREAD

It’s also an important game and possibly one which either makes our start to season very good or quite disappointing. For momentum and belief 3 points would be important and I think after Bristol city Morison knows that too. Unfortunately Watters is playing for reasons other than his ability and playing a second goal shy striker to give the impression of a more attacking team is a falsity. I’d have rather colwill play in behind and we would at least have a player up top with a chance of scoring

Decent game - nothing between the teams. Ojo and Rinamota have been very good. Most players involved including Harris. ( No wish to pick on Watters but once again pretty anonomous- barely in the game). :bluebird:
Come on City- give us a goal!!

I got it wrong but I don’t think it negates the point I was making about him letting another half pass him by with little input. I don’t want to argue here but this is a high stakes game which for many supporters will make our start look good, mediocre or disappointing depending on the outcome and so I am frustrated by what is a vast improvement as Sven alludes to but almost in vain if we can not score and lose 1-0

Re: MATCH THREAD: ‘ CARDIFF CITY v LUTON ‘ MATCH THREAD

The point is Watters has no support in the box. Lost count of the times he was the only one in the box to aim for and competing on his own against 3 centre backs.

Equally he doesn’t get in the box when he needs to just doesn’t seem to have those natural strikers instincts

It's a team game and the others have a responsibility to score aswell... it's easy to blame the scapegoat of the team but do it when hes missed hatfull of chances in this game.... and upto now he wasn't in fact only one chance 1st half and we missed from 2yrds? Oh dear bet it was his fault they've scored!

0-1

Onyedinma, two minutes after his introduction, beats Nkounkou and whips in a vicious cross. Freeman ghosts into the box and hammers ome a first-time volley.

Thats it im afraid.

One down, and unable to score..... its getting annoying that we seem to play half decent but the regime refuse to sanction a striker of note.

Transfer committee?? What a absolute farce!

Re: MATCH THREAD: ‘ CARDIFF CITY v LUTON ‘ MATCH THREAD

The decision making in the final third by every City player is abysmal, 20 new strikers won't help with that.
