Because of the damn stewards telling everyone to sit down through out the game, next to the away fans in the Ninian. It's because of that letter that was sent to season ticket holders in that block, it's made everyone sit down and it's killed the atmopshere. :( Though I can't see this working when we play Millwall, Leeds, Swansea and Bristol City.

:ayatollah:

Jon, I agree all this does not help, I think also to many new fans now who are not interested in singing or atmosphere, I know some of the players well and A GOOD ATMOSPHERE IN THE GROUND MEANS EVERYTHING TO THEM.

We need a simple chant with fast clapping in between. I think FC Basel do something of this nature and the whole crowd joins in....even toffy nosed gits who you would think may be too embarrassed to be seen chanting get right into it. Because of its simplicity everyone knows it and it can be kept going for a long time. There may even be some swaying. It's all done while sitting down so even the stewards are happy !!

If the club has to make us sit due to FL rules the fine but guys let's get some seated chants going.

If todays game bored you you can't like football much, the quality of play and passing on display was brilliant at times (other than 15 minutes in the 2nd half), away games are always better for atmosphere because of how densely packed the fans are, standing has nothing to do with it. Just enjoy the game if you can't do that without standing up and the lack of singing bothers you maybe you should try a different sport

My personal opinion is I did think it was a lucklustre affair saturday very boring at times , with a lack of urgency at times. Even the echo today reports mediocre game. Some are good some are not and this sadly was like watching paint dry

It was a satisfying win since we did it with a bunch of our best players missing.

Heard the team and thought we might scrape a draw, so delighted with the win, although apart from a few moments of skill from Burke and Whitts, some sound challenges from Oli and the two goals it was dire. They do say you've got to win when you're not at your best if you're going to have a good season and we did. I thought the effort was excellent throughout the team and when it comes to the crunch that is the important thing.

As for singing, the players love and respond to it, so you should all do it. It should be your duty to tear your vocal chords while shouting out "WHEN SKIES ARE GREY!", anybody who doesn't commit themselves 100% to the cause, whether standing or sitting, shame on you. If you're told to sit, don't sulk, bloody give it some 'til it gives you stomach cramps and then give it more and stay and give the players a standing ovation at the end, especially on Saturday when we could show some of the fringe players that we are not just there to support the superstar players but everyone that pulls on the City shirt.

Claude, I can sort of understand your stance on trouble, although you are far too quick to tar everyone in the vicinity with the same brush; but dissing fans who need a weekly supply of strepsils for giving their passionate backing to the team just goes to show what a jerk-off you are. You should be sued for dragging the name of a good boozer into disrepute.

Where do I "diss" fans who shout, scream and sing all game?!!

All I've said is that every fan has the right to support their team in whatever way they wish. Those of us who are slightly muted during the match are just as much supporters as the above bunch. We pay our money as much as you do, so there's no need for you to "diss" us.

That's fair enough Chief but you dont do much to rouse the team if they need it. Who helped us win that game against Leicester when we went down to ten men. We roared them on helped keep them going. Were you the only one still in there seat that famous night Chief

Far from it dear boy.

When the occasion suits I can be making as much supporting noise as the next supporter!!

However,I stick to my assertion that each fan has the right to support their team in whatever manner they decide. It doesn't make you a better fan if you sing, shout or scream for 90 minutes or just qiuetly sit and watch the match.

Although I've been supporting my club for 40 odd years I don't regard myself as a "better" fan than anyone else, including those who've just joined us this season. To me, all fans are welcome.

Sadly too many on here wish to tell people how they should support their club. The only prerequisite I put on a fan is that they attend as many matches as possible, dependant on physical and financial means.

Surely one cannot say fairer than that? :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Claude, The players themselves have told me, The crowd behind them and making a hostile atmosphere lifts them beyond and is Def a 12th man to them :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We need our fans to sing more.

What what, dear boy, whats all this twaddle you are spouting. You truly are a pompous old moaner, who seems to revel in causing an argument in just typing the opposite of someones opinion.

Annis, you are spot on, you are old school and realise the more passion and noise the more the players play, plus making a good atmosphere in the ground.

I have no problem if Claude Blue sits in his chair and sips his ovaltine through a straw the whole game as long as he allows the people (whatever the age) with passion still in their lives to sing and shout without the likes of Claude Blue asking us to sit down.

We are the famous Cardiff City and we wont be told to sit, Stand with me stand with me, were the famous Cardiff City and we wont be told to sit ! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I think shinyblue glue and Claude are kind of on the same page.

When I was younger I was singing and chanting with the best of them on the bob bank, with age, I'm more of a sit in the grandstand and focus on the game kind of guy.

I will not ever go along with people moaning that other fans should sit down, and I will never go along with the kind of numpty who spent 85minutes of the play off final with his back to the pitch yelling at everyone to make some noise.

It's the same at every football club. You get old/young, men/women, sitters/standers, singers/clappers. We need them all, and they should all be respected.

Yes, a loud atmosphere is going to help the team, it WASN'T great on Saturday and I think that's because:

1. Apart from a few great touches, it wasn't the most exciting game I've ever seen. You could use words like "Clinical", "Professional" and "Competent" to describe it, but never "Thrilling" or "Exciting".

2. All the noisy guys are in one place, the Canton stand, plus a few in the Ninian next to the away section.

3. A lot of new fans, either self concious, don't know the songs, or just not that into it yet.

It'll come

I do wonder if people on this MB can actually read!!!

Or perhaps certain members only read what they want to see?

Where have I said that I object to anyone shouting, singing, etc. in this thread?

That's pretty much what I said. Some like singing, some don't. Same at every ground in the country.

Re: " I THOUGHT IT WAS A RUBBISH GAME and OUR FANS

The fans need to be spread out more evenly around the ground. A few in the Canton stand need to move to the Ninian so that we may wake up a few who want to sing but are a little "shy".

Also a beer or 2 helps relax your inhibitions. We are all different and fair comment, however, Footballs roots are for a noisy atmosphere and some clubs do it bettr than others, Ninian was a noisy ground most of the time.
