Absolute disgrace.

Just like Roy Keane said, it needs to be stopped in it's tracks.

If it isn't, they should all be thrown out of their domestic competitions or relegated.

PSG should be given the Champions League title this season.

Roma should play Villarreal in the Europa League final.

The likelihood is that the Premier League expel the six this season. As they have broken Premier League Rules. Hopefully the same would apply to the Italian and Spanish Leagues.

UEFA should be able to debar the six (plus the Spanish and Italian sides) from both the remaining UEFA competitions.

This would then leave the current 12 isolated (hooray!) and without the support of National Associations or UEFA, i am not clear what would happen to player registrations. Could players simply walk away with no issue?

Interesting times.

Ned In the statement ESP are saying will hold talks with UEFA and FIFA that can only mean a compromise undoubtedly will be found to benefit the 12 clubs like said earlier its about getting more ££££££s from UEFA.. let's se if authorities got the balls to carry out their threat? I seriously doubt it as UEFA stands to lose mega millions if this league starts.

European Super League will start THIS summer.

FIFA have said all European Super League players will be banned from playing at the 2022 World Cup.

UEFA have said all 12 teams will be excluded from next season's Champions League and Europa League.

The problem I have with banning the players so soon is that they are not the ones who decided to join a breakaway league, their clubs did and unless they want to stop playing football they don't really get a choice but to play. The clubs are the ones who should be punished by dropping them down or out of the league and make them work their way back up.

I guess one workaround to avoid punishing the players is for the remainder of their current contract they can continue to play for their national teams. But any new player that signs or any player that signs a new contract for a Super League team is then barred.

yes.. but wouldnt the whole point to be to stop the super league being super.....

It depends how harshly FIFA/UEFA decide to punish the players and National Teams that ultimately had no say in the decision. Assuming most of the players only have 2-3 years on their contracts left and a lot of players might be reluctant to join the Super League teams with such restrictions in place, you'd only be waiting a few seasons for restrictions like that to potentially have a negative impact.

Alternatively FIFA/UEFA might think the harsher option is the most likely to have an impact if they think enough players will jump ship to play for their country. I could see players like Bale or Ramsey leave the Super League for a chance to play in a World Cup with Wales.

Whatever happens, it's gonna be very interesting to see how this pans out over the next few weeks. Although I think a Crystal Palace v Real Valladolid Champions League final could be quite fun if it comes to that.

They believe the Asian market will sustain the league... why else would a company invest 4billion in it? but really its about screwing eufa for more money because this as been going on for years along with fifa that clubs wanting a bigger share of the cake as the recent idea from our big 6 regarding premier league
showed..... ...they want talks with UEFA and fifa to come to some sort of understanding or whatever ! That can only mean give us more £££££s and we'll drop the idea kind of meeting.

This is it, this really is the fight. Globalist elites vs fat lazy corrupt officials vs the fans

This isn't going to end well. They are betting the lazy corruptable officials will buckle at the thought of losing them from their domestic league, but they have to be very publically knocked down and watch their stock price wilt. They need to be removed from Eufa and domestic competitions ASAP and let them go totally alone.

Do they need 3 franchises in London with 2 in Machester and Madrid ?

Man united and Real are the most global and easiest to sell in Asia. Does anyone care about Citeh ? They barely fill their stadium now.

If Klopp says he is leaving the Fenway stock diminishes. The attending Man u fans hate the glaziers so any "real" man u fan will not subscribe to the new super league as it is not Man U......

Hopefully this is the battle the fans didn't start but end up picking the winners....

They won't be playing in their stadiums. In 10 years their 'home' games will be in Asia and America.

Absolutely, If Jacksonville are finding a reason to head to London in the NFL there is no reason why United and real are not the hharlem globetrotter in the exhibition league

They couldn't give a f**k about their supporters. For every supporter they lose in the UK, they'll probably gain 1000s by playing somewhere in Asia. I think that's what they are banking on to be honest.

If I was the governing bodies, I'd dock them a significant amount of points this season and kick any teams out of current cups just for considering it. And if they decide to join the league id kick them out of the league completely. They need to take a firm stance now.

What an arrogant bunch of greedy sods

Could ESL players be banned from international football?

World governing body Fifa had previously said it would not recognise such a competition, and any players involved could be denied the chance to play at a World Cup.

Uefa, Europe's governing body, reiterated that warning on Sunday when it said players involved would be banned from all other competitions at domestic, European or world level and could be prevented from representing their national teams.

After the ESL was announced, Fifa expressed its "disapproval" of the proposed competition and called on "all parties involved in heated discussions to engage in calm, constructive and balanced dialogue for the good of the game".

The ESL has sent a letter to Fifa president Gianni Infantino and Uefa boss Aleksander Ceferin issuing notice of legal proceedings in European courts designed to block any sanctions the two governing bodies may try enforce over the formation of the ESL.

In a statement, the ESL said: "Going forward, the founding clubs look forward to holding discussions with Uefa and Fifa to work together in partnership to deliver the best outcomes for the new league and for football as a whole."

yes its harsh but the best way to stop something is at its outset.... its not like the players will be destitute or have no choice because as we have seen many times when players really want to move they will....personally id love to see them go and not be part of our domestic game anymore as the financial gap between the haves and have nots in the top division is already too big without it increasing...or worse they treat the cups and the premier league itself as a secondary competition , the cups have already suffered at the hands of these ..would be nice to get promoted and have some sort of chance and acxyually look forward to cup draws again hoping to draw a team thats likely to play their best 11....

Soon there will be 1 year contract for players who clubs will bid for at auctions ...bringing out their new marquee signing wearing next seasons shirt. The players will be paid well as their agents will tie up shirt sales deals and % of fee on top of their salaries.

It will be like NBA with worldwide fans who follow players not clubs so Salah goes to Madrid , Messi goes to Man City ... they just ditch old Liverpool and Barcelona shirts and but new ones with players name on the back .......just like NBA and LeBron James shirts.

And you are not telling me Bein Sports,NBC,etc aren't lining up to secure the TV rights along with with the various club owned TV subscription channels
I'm free to be

Even if they walk away from this now, the damage has been done.

Their own fans hate them for it.

Serie A and La Liga have called emergency meetings, with the clubs involved not to be included in these meetings.

Premier League likely to follow suit.

Let them go and don’t allow them to play in other competitions and if they want to come back make them start at the bottom
Football will survive without them I enjoyed football when players only got £1k and less a week i think more than when players are getting 100k and more a week That is the thing with football you can enjoy football at any levels You will have your hero’s in Div 2 level as well My boys hero’s were all players that only played with us below premier league level and most of them a div 1 level

I quite like the idea of the 'big 6' playing in another competition as we'd be a top teir club without doing much to get there
.

Let them charge the mugs £70 a ticket or ppv games on they're channels. A new league without them could be more affordable and more in tune with reality.

Honestly couldn't give a monkeys if I never watched them live. They'll be on tv every wednesday :thumbright:

The idea is for them to make this league without leaving the prem though. All that extra revenue would just make the gap at the top of the prem even bigger. I agree though, if though do go ahead with it they should be kicked out the league with no way of coming back. Unless under a new name and from the bottom.

A bit hypocritical of UEFA and FIFA to go on about this when they are as corrupt and as greedy as them...Qatar being a casing point.

There is a rule in premier league think its L 29 I heared that says need their permission to enter another competition ... so presume premier league wont give that so the clubs involved would have to resign from league .....
In the bigger picture maybe this is required to curtail players wages? No big 6 reduced tv money should drive wages down ... at end day other clubs fans couldn't give a toss about top 6 clubs as long as their club have chance to get to top division thats all that matters.

Admittedly I haven’t read all the above. A major reason voting in support of Brexit was my disagreement of Brussels having an undue influence on how the UK is run. Similarly I don’t feel that football club owners dwelling overseas with interests only in profit and not in the history of the clubs they own should potentially decimate the beautiful game without a thought to the generations who do and have followed their teams - all just because they are in search of ever more money.

These people can go and do one - using vulgarity which I apologise for.
