This topic is about Harris and his comments why bring in your pathetic agenda into it?

Not often I agree with you but I do on this occasion.

Your back Paul, once again

So why is it not to do with just Neil Harris?

So does not the blame go to the top? or is it just to do with the manager?

Who employs him?

What is our committee about?

Please explain :thumbright:

Quite simply I agreed with allans post because the topic was about the supposed comments that Harris said.

I started the topic just on Harris, but then the buck stops at the top in walks of life if you were honest about it, that is the truth.

Lucky for Harris there were no fans present today, he would have had dogs abuse.

Not sure sacking him will be the right decision though, as I don’t believe the club hierarchy can be trusted to get anyone better and I don’t think many managers better than Harris would want to work under the Tan regime.

I think it’s best to stick with Harris and hope he turns things around.

Not pathetic actually sadly the truth, as posters like Neil is going on every topic twisting it.

Yes i agree this is about todays match, but the bigger picture is, the future is very bleak under this current board.

Out of interest in what way is it bleak ?

Can't say they are not spending money on players or transfers because they do every window

Can't say we are financially in trouble as the club is stable

The manager is a big issue but get rid of him and make the correct appointment and all will be Rosey. Keep him and we will tread water comfortably in the championship with no threat of relegation of financial issues

Where are we in the Championship?

Realistically have we a good chance of top 2?

How are we compared to 11 yrs yrs ago in the Championship?

How are our Under 23's doing ?

How are our Under 18's doing?

Our debt what is it?

Straight answers please Thomas :thumbright:

A win today and we would have been 2 points off the play offs , that's how tight this league is and another winning streak like last month would move us comfortably into those play off places. The season is not even half way through yet . I wouldnt have said we would be top two at the start either but play offs are a minimum for this squad .

11 years ago we were in a huge financial mess off the pitch so we are light years ahead of that position now, we are in a similar position table wise but with a vastly superior squad worth a lot more money which is a huge plus. Football for a club like ours is full of ups and down. Did you ask that question 2 years ago when we were in the premier league ?
Our problem at the moment is a very negative manager.

Our u23s have undergone a huge transition with a lot of players being released and replaced with a very good under 18s team who incidently won there respective league 1.5 years ago . That transition hS left us with a very young inexperienced squad which is why they have understandably struggled. That will change in the coming year or so as they progress under a new management structure.

The debt to third parties i believe stands at around £65 million which is very serviceable for a club our size . Most football clubs run a loss, ours is jnder control thanks to Vincent tan personally writing off over £100 million himself.

But we never won, 3 defeats in last 4 games against footballing sides, thats facts.

We are still in debt, but even more than 11yrs yrs ago a fact.

Under 23's every 2 yrs keeps going undergoing huge transformations

Our Under 18's are struggling big time.

No point anyone saying we player younger kids, as the other clubs do as well and we play a lot of League 1/2 and Championship clubs.

So after 11 yrs, still in debt, still midd table, our Academies produced nothing thats Sadly the facts.

When a club like Barnsley are above us thats not good.

When your manager says we cant compete with small clubs like Watford, Bournemouth, Brentford and Norwich thats worrying.

But you have to look at everything in perspective

11 years ago our transfer record was £2.5Million for Peter Thorne.
That has been broken 23 times in the following decade Tan has been at the club. In fact out of the top 35 biggest signings this club has ever made Vincent Tan has sanctioned 33 of them going back to Graham Kavanagh.

The club is in a very different place now to a decade ago. The world has changed massively in the time we are talking about so of course debts will be higher.

11 years ago what were the winnings for getting to the premier league and what were the TV incomings ?
What was the average wage of a championship player compared to today ?

Every club goes through transition periods at under 23 level. That is just the nature of it. To find who is good enough to move to the first team and who isn't, Swansea spent fortune on there academy and are currently bottom of our league . Sometimes you get it right sometimes you get it wrong. Can you name a south wales based player who we have missed in the last decade who has made a big impact at a level above we play at another club ?

What the manager has said and our current position i fully agree with you on. Harris lost this game today before it started and is too defensive. He is the real problem at the club this season. The Bkard now have to do the right thing this week, if they don't sack him and he's allowed to go through January without spending then they deserve criticism. But they have already backed him this season so they may have to stick by him for a whilst which will be a mistake. Time will tell on that one but I think personally if we don't beat Wycombe he should be gone at full time .

Asked if playing the west Londoners will be like facing Norwich, Harris said: "Yes, a well-rounded team, Brentford, how they progressed over the last three or four years, they've been a good footballing side.

"A team that are on a long unbeaten run at the moment, in good form for getting through to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.

"We’re mindful of that and we have to be at our best, we have to be better than we were at Norwich.

"I think Norwich, from what I saw the other day, are a cut above in the league this year. I thought they were better than Leeds last year. The praise that Leeds took last year was immense - I think Norwich are better from what I’ve seen, watching them at the weekend but also watching their previous five games.

As you can see above he clearly says they are a footballing side like Norwich.

Then in a separate part says.

I don't think you can compare us to Norwich," he said. "I think it’s unfair to compare anybody in the division to Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth, we just can’t compete with their budgets and squads.”

That isn’t the same as saying we can’t compete with Brentford. Not in any way, shape or form.

Free transfers on big wages which increased in the Prem.

I was amazed Norwich kept Cantwell and Pukki. I think that’s pandemic more than other reasons.

But yeah three years ago we were above Norwich so it shows how well their manager has done.

I’m not arguing it was a silly comment. However he did not say it about Brentford and for that to be said is blatantly bollocks.

Spent a bit more than that this summer and the premier league preseason but less than we did when we went up second time which wasn’t a lot.
