Cardiff will have to be better to beat the Swans

Historically, City haven't really enjoyed visits to the Potteries, having previously not won here for 15 years.

For around an hour or so that record showed very little sign of changing.

Cardiff sorely lacked the imagination, creativity and sense of urgency that we've seen in recent weeks.

To come back and claim victory then showed tremendous character - arguably the sort needed to gain promotion - particularly at a ground where even the great Lionel Messi would, according to some of the darker corners of footballing punditry, struggle to cope.

Neil Harris talked up the "confidence and the belief to come from behind, against a team that are in top form".

He's bang on, but let's be clear here. Cardiff simply cannot afford to start like this against their big rivals this weekend.

Yes, there won't be any fans, and it may well be a strange atmosphere, but the cut-throat spirit of a Cardiff-Swansea derby is highly likely to remain.

Having failed to beat Steve Cooper's men last season, and with Cardiff looking to make up ground, it's perhaps the Bluebirds who will be feeling most of the pressure heading into this weekend.

Bad performances are often punished in derby matches, and Harris will need his side to step up their game.

Who wants Harris out?

For me Harris has without a doubt earned the right to stay on as our manager :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

f**k me Annis, that's a change in stance and I welcome it! :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Jim,

You would have to be a mad man to want any manager to quit or sack him after 4 consecutive victories and long May he prove myself and the majority wrong :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird:

Agreed, I was calling for his head after Coventry and I really thought he had lost the dressing room.

I was clearly wrong because a lost dressing room does not win 4 on the bounce, particularly away to teams like Watford and Stoke.

I'm not totally sold on him being the answer but as long as we keep improving and grinding out results we have to stick with him. The Jacks will be a real test but if we can avoid losing that one then the January window might get quite interesting !!

With you all the way and The board have said he will be backed if in top 6 and rightly so, our squad needs extra players / strength in depth if we want promotion. :bluebird: :bluebird:

So far Harris has actually spent nothing as we have brought more money in than what’s gone out and done brilliant with loans :thumbright: :bluebird:

In fairness I had my doubts when we hit the doldrums, and it looked like players just couldn't be bothered to play for NH. But you are only as good as your last game, and Neil now has 4 in the bank.

It's easy for us mere fans to jump on managers but I think we can knee jerk very easily and maybe should take a longer view of things. :bluebird:

I’m convinced that if we beat the jacks 1-0 in a scrappy game 5 victories in a row 1 goal conceded albeit a unfortunate own goal
Some on here would still be unhappy

Jim,

The poll was 95% wanted him sacked and a poll on Twitter 97% , the board were ready as well.
The change around is remarkable and of course only good for our club, if things go wrong next time we must give Harris more slack :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
