I heard his missus is looking at properties in Tonyrefail, Ferndale and Porth but one of the main selling points to the player himself were the properties in Maerdy. :occasion5:

How much are we paying him if they can afford all those houses?

Cardiff win Moore battle

Cardiff City have won the race to sign Kieffer Moore from Wigan Athletic.

The Latics accepted multiple offers of £2.5million with Middlesbrough, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers also vying for his signature.

However, Cardiff will sign Moore to bolster Neil Harris' squad. WalesOnline understands the deal could be announced within the next 24 hours or Friday at the latest.

The Welsh club tried to sign him in January but due to Wigan's precarious financial situation, they have cashed in after being relegated to League One.

Not worried about him passing a medical test. If Issac Vassel can pass a medical test for us The Elephant Man and Quasimodo would be ok. Good signing in my view better than what we have got up front at the moment. I would rather get in a couple of good signings than three or four who would make not much difference. Reckon that Rhian Brewster who played for the Jacks on loan would be great up front with Moore.

If we signed Brewster on a season long loan with Sanderson from Wolves we should be challenging for automatic promotion.

I’d honestly be happy with a couple of decent free agents and loan players now. Let’s be honest, a full season with Harries at the helm, wouldn’t have put us too far off the autos, hopefully these little tweaks will help us push on :thumbright:

not sure what there is to learn Paul.. 4 clubs all had bids accepted by Wigan so whoever wants him the most ends up paying the most.. great position to be in if your the player..

Clearly we do !!

Paid £6m for Madine on similar wages !! The lower fee makes this well worth a punt on a player who has done well, albeit for a short time, on the international stage.

£22K per week?

I was all for him coming here (he will be an asset as I've said before) but honestly thought his wages would have been half of that.
Which is what I thought would have been the hold up. So he came for the money (no surprise there) but rumours he wanted to come to Cardiff to help his international opportunities are very wide of the mark. As with 99% of footballers, and most people, he went for the money. Can't blame him I suppose as I have just seen he is 28, so last big pay out?

Expensive for what he is and in the championship, but what I will say about that is he could’ve easily cost a fair few million more and would you have been surprised if we paid anywhere up to 4-5 million for him looking at the Pack/Flint transfers?

The fact he was only 2m could be the factor to why we slightly overpaid him in his wages. Still works out a reasonable transfer if true.

Rumours (again) Wigan wanted £4m last January. So to look on the bright side of it, he is working out about the same price with wages and transfer fee combined.

not sure what you expect mate...£ 2 million ish isnt exactly throwing money around.. and Pack and Flint were not top dollar either.

Bloody hell that's a lot of money for a bloke who's hardly prolific.

One way of looking at it is that with Danny Ward leaving (reportedly on £20,000 a week) then we've signed a replacement for only £2000 a week more. However Danny Ward must have a much better goals per minute played ratio than Moore.

Oh well - we must trust that Harris knows what he is doing, give credit to the board for backing him financially on this one and give the player the chance to show that he can be the 20 goal a season striker every club is looking for.

Don’t worry about his wages. If we sell him for £2m we’ve effectively covered transfer fee and salary. If we get promoted then it pays for itself

We paid 11m in total for both Pack and Flint. Both of which I don’t believe have any resale value, and both I absolutely detest at the club (purely for them as a footballer, not as a person)

If you don’t call that throwing money about then I don’t know what to say. We’re in the championship. 11m is a lot for dud transfers.

Like I said though, I’m happy with the Moore transfer if he was only 2m

Flint - £4mill plus 2mill in add-ons.
Pack - 750k-1mill up front plus and extra 3mill in installments. Apparently anyway after a quick search on google.

I only checked because I didn't believe we possibly blew £11mill on them. Shocking amounts of money if accurate!
