They've had excellent and could say perfect opportunities to score 3 goals but lacked composure.. be lucky to get away with it now..

Just as many as us. Ayew could have had 2, so could Brewster.

Clear penalty denied there too.

What Brewster? Ref 2yds away looking straight down at it Brewster no complaints .. or if mean fraction before that swans player slipped cant have that much poor refereeing decisions for you... :D

Yes, keeper took his legs clearly. That was a clear pen.

Unlucky not to get that.

Sorry he didn't take his legs because
they didnt move he just fell over as players do in pen area..... otherwise ref would seen it (from 2yards away); and Brewster and players would have complained vociferously which they didn't

The ref wasn’t two yards away, he was about 15 yards away. Everyone appealed including Brewster, because it was a clear pen.

Well the sky camera showed ref looking straight at it unobstructed view looked very close to action think I will take his view as no pen ... as for appealing it was half hearted at best I've just looked at it again... anyway it was not a pen as it wasn't given

Nope wasn’t half hearted. If I knew how to post photos on here you would see every single Swans player in the picture with their arms in the air shouting for the obvious pen to be given. I also have a photo of the keeper taking Brewsters legs.

This time I have come armed to combat the predicted “they were lucky” cries :laughing6:

But you are right, it wasn’t given - very unlucky.

Refs technically not human but will just about pass the test

It was on Kayo, which is a streaming service over here, the match can be re-watched and screenshots taken at any given point. As for the reason I took them, that’s because you have a selective and hazy memory when it comes to all things Swansea to continually push your predictable “lucky” rhetoric that you have been pushing for a decade. :laughing6:

All players appealed for a penalty, what more do you want? Them stripping off and doing a dance in protest?

We won. You will need to live with it Al.

Don’t think it matters if ball was touched while he was committing a foul, just like the sending off in that respect.

It won’t get appealed or overturned, yet won the ball technically.

They have already said it will be appealed and VAR should be used which I agree with.

Good win for Swansea regardless of circumstances

I think if VAR was used we would have had 2 penalties and the red would have stood although the on field decision could have gone either way, I also don’t think it will be overturned. I guess they have nothing to lose by appealing though.

But yes, a good unexpected win that gives us a fighting chance in the next leg. I’d still be slightly favouring Brentford though.

Styles make games , Swansea were struggling tonight with Brentford running at them but were strong in the air both in defence and attack.
Fulham don't really run directly at team's and instead tend to use the wingers to put balls into Mitrovic and look for knock downs.

Cardiff are very direct both running and passing so should in theory be the tougher game for a team like Swansea, Fulham's style should suit Swansea more.

Add the fact it's a derby and anything could happen in that game

They didn’t have one sitter let alone 3 for one player.

His run that you are talking about was an excellent chance but far from a sitter, hence why he blazed it over.

But don’t kid yourself that you don’t care, you seem to spend your life talking about Swansea in the most bitter of ways, Al.

We have 4 points vs Cardiff this year and 0 vs Fulham.

We would without any shadow of a doubt prefer to play Cardiff be that for style or any other reason.

But of course we would need to get there first which is still one hell of a task to defend a 1-0 lead at Griffin Park.

This is a very different Cardiff team to the one you have faced early season. You should hope Fulham win as Cardiff are on form , playing well and confident. I don't think it matters anyway as the winner of the play offs is coming from the Fulham v Cardiff game

Form isn’t something I really worry too much about. It’s not as if once you win a few then you can’t lose again. We have won 3 on the bounce and would be amazed if we won the next for example.

Cardiff are the weaker side that’s all there is to it really, there is a reason Fulham finished 8 points above you and 11 above us. I just can’t see anybody preferring to play Fulham.

Not slagging you off, just being realistic.

Absolutely, but Brentford are clearly the more talented side. I’m not saying we have no chance to beat Fulham, just more of a chance to beat you than we do Fulham, the better the team the tougher the game generally speaking. I just don’t see why anyone would really prefer to play Fulham in a Final when our recent derby record is great, have beaten you and drawn with you already this year and lost both matches against Fulham.

Form may well play a part but I would prefer to go up against a lesser team off the back of a few wins than a better side off the back of a few defeats any day. Form is only temporary.

By that I assume you mean “frustratingly sensible”?

It was reckless and dangerous, whether he got the ball is irrelevant. It was 100% a yellow and probably a red 50% of the time. They will be very unlikely to win any appeal so I guess we will see what the FA and referees association make of it.

You may think it’s lucky to hit the inside of the post, miss a penalty and get denied another clear cut one - but I’ll assume you are just being bitter. :laughing6:

Fair enough that new angle shows it taps off Brewsters toe not Jansens.
They didn't show that one on tv.

All other angles show the ball changing direction as the tackle is made.
