I don't have ''a site'', I post on whichever site has the most interesting topics.

Why would I want to try telling people on a forum I don't post on? From experience they have about much sense as the folk on here when it comes to football or financial knowledge, but at least this one is entertainment value

Of course it isn't a disaster, we are going to have the same academy status as Newcastle United. Hardly a travesty, many clubs don't even have an academy.

Finally, what is meant by ''the Yanks never put any money in''? Into what? We broke our transfer record under the ownership of the Americans. Do you mean they don't put any of their own money into the club? If so, then of course they don't, and we wouldn't want them to, that means debt. None of our owners have ever put their own money in - clubs are supposed to spend what they generate not what they can borrow.

No, ''how much of a model club they are'' is something you have added.

What was said was it was far more important spending money on an academy than buying a stadium we already had a 100 year lease on. That remains correct.

Category 1 status allowed us to bring in the likes of McBurnie, Dan James, Cian Harris and Ben Cabango. Not to mention develop the likes of Ben Davies and Conor Roberts.

I don't know what you mean by Swansea have ''no academy'' now? The academy is staying, it is being downgraded from category 1 - something not many clubs outside the Premier League can afford.

But now you won’t be able to steal players like James and Cabango off other clubs

Even at the category 3 status we are going to be at, we will have been able to get Cabango. You don't need category 1 status to sign players from other academies, just a higher status than the one they are in. Not sure about Dan James, what category do Hull have, not very high I wouldn't have thought? Every chance we still would have got him too.

What is the correlation between a category 1 status academy and Swansea buying McBurnie?
By no academy, I meant no category 1 academy. Not literally no academy.
Whilst you are right in saying not many clubs outside the Premier League have category 1 academies, almost all in the Championship have at least category 2.

Anyway, you had better hope you get promoted this year.
Otherwise you will be left with little assets of value and owners who are willing to sell anything they can to make money.

I doubt hull were cat 1 which is how you obtained him isn’t it? It’s how Man City pinched matondo off us and then sold him for 10 million a year later was it? Bit of a shiiity unfair system

Not sure what the corralation is with Mothercare but I'll humour you, :? at least theres value in what they maybe selling , and with a return of 34 million on three players recently sold and still in with a chance of the playoffs thats not too shabby wouldn't you agree ?

Your up shite creek mate!!! You have to get promoted this season with the sort of wages ayew etc are on. £80000 a week I think. Lower parachute payments next season. Selling everything in site then your attendances drop. Then hopefully your team drops a division or two.

We dont have to make the playoffs....you do!!

Its all speculation as we all know so just go with the flow , but one point I will make if Cardiff don't go up I suspect then the attendances will drop to their "normal " levels and if your Chairman is being truthful about paying the 15 million to Nantes would create a risk of “bankruptcy” for the Club then that cannot be good news.

And mgt fees for accounting purposes anyway
Levin has to satisfy the 28 hedge funders he promised would get a return on their investment, based on the assumption the club isn’t worth anywhere near what they paid for it, he could be in a spot of bother without player sales propping it up.

Do you see it as a bad thing that you don’t have category 1 status then? Or is it a case that it isn’t really a bad thing because it’s an unrealistic aim for the club with championship income?

You don’t have category 1 status either you know... or most of the championship for that matter.

I’d rather have their youth policy than ours.

Daniel James, Connor Roberts etc etc and that young defender Kabanga who went to school in Fairwater and played a blinder when they played down here recently.

How long ago was it Ledley & Ramsey came through?

That quote has been taken out of context. We get parachute payments this year and next year and will have made £20mill+ in transfer fees in that time as well. The Sala transfer will not bankrupt the club.

Please could you explain the context because I’ve only read snippets of the Chairmans comment. Another point I believe your parachute payments are to be used as the same as ours to compensate for the higher wages ? And as seems to be the tone of this thread we sell players the same as you but we’re in the shit for doing it and you’re not

We never had a 80 million wage bill, you did. I dont think ours ever got over 45! Then back down with relegation clauses, something you clearly didn’t have with Ayew and baston etc, that’s why you are in trouble plus the fact the hedge fund have no money.
