Didn’t some Swansea fans on Twitter last year make a reference to Sala swimming away from Cardiff once the news broke? I know the swim away chant has been around since they chased those kids into the sea (even if they weren’t kids, how weird is it that a large group are proud of chasing a handful of people into the sea?) but they managed to put two and two together and make some sick joke about it

Going out to the ill informed the Jack Army chased young teenagers not children or kids into Swansea Bay Fact. The fact its a 30 year victory speaks volumes!

they were not all kids but some were under 16 which means children in my eyes no matter what a bloke who calls himself casual but wasn't one says..

Didn’t quite catch what they were singing along with it, but extremely insensitive seeing as we’re coming up on the 1st anniversary of Sala’s death

I’m sure it had nothing to do with Sala as they’ve done it for many years after allegedly chasing a few Cardiff fans into the sea.

As for the incident in 1993, I do vividly remember them throwing seats into the Grandstand and Family Stand of Ninian Park, areas commonly occupied by both children and the older generation. A few were returned as well. Aged 14, I got called a “bloody hooligan” by my Grandfather for chanting “Blue Army” from the Bob Bank. ;)

A few were returned?

You are saying Cardiff fans threw chairs at Swansea kids?

Anyway this thread is equally hilarious as it is tragic (in more than one way) and shows the victim hood mentality of Cardiff fans these days.

As soon as a derby is over and they don’t win, they trawl the Internet looking for everything and anything that can be brought up to tar a whole fanbase with, if they can’t find anything then they will make it up. This time we had the proof that we are “pure scum” because both sets of fans threw some coins at eachother (only one side being counted though) and the swim away is now a jibe about a player you disowned and are refusing to pay a single penny for...

All that after changing every story in history that hadn’t gone your way to “they were kids, you attacked our kids”.

Horrifically embarrassing.

I predicted it last week as well, I knew they would be making these kinds of threads.

From all accounts our fans behaved fantastically, sang well and respected that minutes applause with respect. Shame the opposite can’t be said about this lot when it comes to respecting our dead

No, I said a few were returned. This was indeed from the Cardiff end though. There is the chance that some could have hit children (or another human being for that matter), hence the reason I don’t condone such spineless cowardly behaviour, irrespective of what football team people support. Having said that, in an ideal situation, people wouldn’t be put into a predicament where they are angered by the initial throwing of seats at them or their loved ones and feel that their only action from a self-defence perspective is to retaliate and have no other viable options.

I have been in situations where I have witnessed acts of bravery, and football hooliganism certainly doesn’t fall into that category.

So thrown back into a section with children in then?

Hardly self defence is it. The chances of throwing that chair back and hitting the person that threw it rendering him unconscious preventing him from throwing it again is astronomical. It wasn’t thrown back with the intention of hurting the perpetrator, it was thrown with the hope it would hit anyone - many of which would have been children.
