Re: MY VIEW: A VERY POOR & DIRE GAME OVER ALL & ENDED IN

Been going nearly 50 years, I can't remember many worse performances by a City team than yesterday. Like many others I wished I'd stayed in the Pub, it shows the very poor quality in the division that we are amazingly not in a relegation fight.

If you want to see good football, try Pontcanna :sad7:

Pembroke Allan stop trying to find positives in that game. There was no ‘revolution’ in our play as Harris wants to describe it - we showed no confidence and every player bar Tomlin maybe and Ward when he came on looked scared of the football.

Allan likes to give an alternative view to everybody else on most subjects. He likes to try to be different but inevitably is always wrong.
I couldn’t see any positives in yesterday’s game except a point and not a loss.

You’ve left out Bacuna from your short list list. I thought he was always seeking out the ball and played well considering all he had around him.

Let’s hope there’s a big improvement on Boxing Day!

True, I’d forgot about Bacuna. It says it all that the only way our team ever progresses through the field is if a player runs with the ball for 40 yards. Our passing yesterday was nothing short of embarrassing.

Yes it was and I saw no improvement in yesterday’s game, however, I believe Harris needs time to work with the squad, get rid of a number of them and hopefully bring in the players he wants to improve and play with a different and more effective style.

I say ‘Hopefully’!!

Well we’ll see how they shape up against a different type of team on Boxing Day. Expect it to be a much more open game with more space on the pitch.

Sounds like stats for forest game? Will say listening to the game they lacked creativity but we lacked enthusiasm to go forward? Going to be an up & down season that's for sure.. :old:

Allan, We totally lacked creativity.

For me Harris is not the right man, theres a quality squad there :bluebird:

Agree about quality squad not sure about Harris st moment think part of problem is certain players not performing at all? Laing as been next to useless for awhile Murphy not much better, us players out long term being pushed in last minute like today and what we have is an unbalanced team unable to get time together to form partnerships! Need to hope his buying players is good because we need something in January to alter things. :old:

How can you say we have a quality squad when for the best part of 2-3 seasons we have hardly been ably to string more than a couple of passes together ?

You only have to go back a few seasons to see how it should be done, with the likes of Mutch, Whitts, Kimbo, McPhail etc. I accept that in general terms they were no more successful than today's crop but I fear if we persist with this brand of 'football' our decline will be much quicker than people think.

Yes a squad that is 3 points off playoffs our so called brand as been ridiculed by own fans yet it got us promotion and competitive in nearly all our games bar 1 this season, you need take look at stats before resiseding over our demise above average in relevant ones except away wins and only 12 goals less scored than top team ! Football is about more than pretty possession football! Yes our style is hard on the eye and peseved as crap but take away blinkers of how other teams play and we are more than competitive with anyone..

I accept what you say Allan but how long can we keep this competitive, hard to beat thing going. It only takes a change in attitude for this way of playing to be undermined and then what are we left with ? Players lacking in technique with no pace and lacking the will to win. We really do need to start looking for players who have more to their game than a roll up your sleeves and at 'em attitude. That can be instilled into technically good players by the manager.

Problem is nothing will change until tan Dalman and ken leave? It will continue as long as we play it! It's no different from teams being competitive by playing 50% of balls inside own half Even that fails eventually in championship...We are not far short of getting it right but have doubts as to being able to get players in to change way we play because of the men at top who hold purse strings..
