The Harris connection has baffled me from the start, the only reason as some have suggested would be money....... Probably a cheaper option. If he is the replacement, why has it taken so long as he was available straight away and in this day and age, some clubs appoint before the outgoing manager has left the car park.
I'm hoping this is a red herring and there is an unexpected announcement of somebody with much more about them.
Many of our signing over last couple of seasons have been totally by surprise. Here's hoping

If it is Harris it's not a great choice
But I'll give him till the end of next season to build a team capable of promotion and able to build on when we are there

Fortunately for Warnock his reputation allows him to get jobs relatively easily. I my opinion he had one of the top jobs in Scotland in his sights a few week back, he got the feelers out in a newspaper article and he us very media savvy.

Lets stop the hounded out bollocks. A few "Warnock sort it out" when he even agreed is not hounding him out and the internet is not real !!!!!!! So leave a few voices out of a 50K fan base (You don't have to turn up to be a fan or have an opinion) out he left.

Warnock left because he knows he messed up the recruitment and this lot are not going to do much, its a two season at least job to turn this around. Fortunately for Warnock his reputation allows him to get jobs relatively easily, its a loop.

Harris concerns me, yes he had relative success for Millwall, but they are a "special" club with a unique fan base and they turned on him as one of their own. There have been biggish jobs and he is not even mentioned until us.

All clubs have a delusion of grandeur but we do that especially well. Harris won't be a big enough name. I doubt he'd last to the start of next season when he will be hounded out as he'll be on the back foot straight away.

Still not sold on him being the one, jouno's leaking to an owner of a message board looks like distraction to me(hopefully)

To Clear up the Mark Hughes Assitant had he of been appointed as Cardiff manager, It wouldn’t of been Mark Bowen as he’s now managing. Hughes would of probably approached Bellamy to help out. Let’s wait and see what happens today.

Theory - Neil recommended Harris as it would make his last few months seem not that bad in the long run

Cannot believe VT would sanction this, such a crucial season or two for us. He obviously doesn’t care much about his investment here.....bizarre appointment. :banghead:

Again, why the hate on Slade, finished 8th in his only full season, better than both Ole and Trollope after him?

Cardiff City new manager Neil Harris favourite and announcement expected soon

Cardiff City will have a new manager soon

By John Doel

SATURDAY 16 NOV 2019

Cardiff City's managerial search could be becoming to an end imminently, with former Millwall boss Neil Harris favourite for the job.

Former Wales, Stoke City and Southampton boss Mark Hughes shot up the bookies' list on Thursday afternoon, at one stage being the favourite for the job.

But Harris still appears to be the frontrunner - according to our sources - with the other managerial candidate, Lee Bowyer, now drifting.

Bluebirds chiefs had initially wanted the new man to be in place within 72 hours of Neil Warnock leaving on Monday, but the search is carrying on for a little longer.

A decision could well come this weekend though, with the board keen to have a new man in place before next week.

Why the rush to get a new man in place?

What a great opportunity to bide our time, maybe get some football men in upstairs to improve decision making, put focus on grass roots and the academy, and to take time in interviewing candidates, because better men maybe come available between now and seasons end.

Neil Harris is a bland, uninspiring contradiction of an appointment. Fans are not being listened to. There is nothing on his CV or from Millwall fans comments that even warranted his name being mentioned. If it’s about money, then a Harris comes into the equation, but so could Bellamy, Nathan Jones, Ainsworth etc. Mehmet just address us,tell us your reasons and criteria please.

Dalman out. Fuming

Since when have any club choose the manager after listening to fans. It's a good job they dont listen to fans imo.

Also how can you say Dalman out when no one knows what is happening?

FFS whoever it may be, give the man a chance. We have a team to support, and a few good results would see us zoom up the table.

I want football men in that boardroom, no more appointments like Ole, Slade etc. Your right clubs don’t listen to fans, that’s why so many fall out of love with club football, it started with the appointment of Gary Speed and Jonathan Ford, and now we have the red wall, the one nation together thing worked. And I love it. If a small international nation can go from that pre Speed frustration to this communal like fan base of all ages then so can football clubs, but they won’t, it’s a business. A word that doesn’t belong in my footballing blue heart.

And yes, presumptuous of me saying Dalman out. When no appointment has been made yet! Fair play

However I stand by that, if Harris is appointed and based on his attacking 35 shots statement. If that wasn’t a tongue in cheek comment and was serious, We don’t need people like that making these huge footballing decisions for our club. Naieve and lacking in knowledge.

If appointed I hope Harris puts lots of egg on my face. Because unlike some posters on our forums I will be there.

What fans want is irrelevant as we would like pep or Josè but if they don't want to come they won't.... same as Houghton ect ect it's simple on fifa manager but real life deals with real people harder to deal with...so who knows which unemployed manager contacted city about vacancy ? We only get rumours from news .

The comment about 35 shots was a joke - he was asked what they are looking for in a new manager and he said ‘I could make a joke here about wanting a manager who will take 35 shots a game’. It was clearly a tongue in cheek comment, referencing Tan from a couple of years ago.

However, he did say that they want a change of direction and Harris is certainly not that.

Shocking decision by the board. Going backwards. There should have been a plan in place to replace Warnock. This is just about the worst outcome. Why does the club not look at what is happening around the leagues, teams lower down than us playing football we can only dream of. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: This should have been the point where the board looked for an up and coming manager with a 3/5 plan and backed him. I have supported the club all my and I’m 55 :old: I have supported the board since they took over, but this is trying my patients to the limit. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Not sure 28 years counts as fickle ? I would say that the club needs all the fans it can get and appointing a guy like Harris is only going to alienate current fans and hardly entice new fans to the club. I've endured the chore of watching Slade's team & I wont doing that again!!
