Did the club a massive massive favour by getting everyone United again. And with the promotion to go with it. Will go down as 1 of city's all time greatest. But I do feel it was the right time to go. Just hope we can get a decent replacement in.

When you first came to the Club whilst many fans were happy I was unsure, whilst I had no doubt you had the obvious ability and credentials to do a job for us I was worried your best days had gone, I was wrong.

I never subscribed to the idea that we were a team that was heading for relegation and that bad and I think you would agree, I think the foundations were there and we needed someone like yourself to come in and and get us back on track, you achieved that and then some more.

You re-united the fan base and gave us an identity, the pride you have in what you do gave us the pride to believe in our Football Club again.

You gave us some fantastic moments and memories that we will never forget but above all that the one thing that stands out for me is the love that you seem to have for the Club, the fans and the area that we live in which for me, supercedes anything to have a Manager that was 'one of us'.

I wish you and your family nothing but the best, enjoy the rest of your lives and I will leave you with this.

'We'll keep a welcome in the hillsides'

'We'll keep a welcome in the vales'

'This land you knew will still be singing'

'When you come home again to Wales'.

Thank you Neil for the past 3 or so seasons.
I cannot imagine how difficult it has been since January to try and deal with the emotions of what happened that fateful night and since.

I wish you success in whatever you and Mrs Warnock choose to do and wish your family all the best in the future.
Hope you enjoy a rare family Christmas at home.

I have been a Bluebird fan for nearly 70 years and I can't think of any of our previous managers who would have had the same impact on our club. He has been a real legend in that time and thank him for bringing the club together in a very difficult time. Without him we would be languishing in the lower divisions and I hope that all of his detractors hold their heads in shame for the job he has done in the most difficult of times. Thank you Neil you will never be forgotten. Have a long and happy retirement, but please don't forget us.You will always be remembered at our club and be welcomed back at CCS at any time.

We'll always be thankful for the promotion and making a good fight of it last season.

But this was the right time for you to move on and glad you've come to the correct conclusion.

I bet your fun on Christmas Day !

I spoke to Neil Warnock in Halfords Bridgend, a couple of months after he took over.
I thanked him for saving our club, he said "I've not done nothing yet"

Neil you certainly changed our club, reunited it made it more successful,in such a short space of time .
I've supported the city since the sixties, and in my humble opinion your the best manager we have had in that time.

Thank you Neil .
You,Sharon and your children enjoy your retirement.
You will always be a bluebird.

Neil you are an absolute legend at this club and I thank you so much for the great job you did! I think a lot of people fell in love with Cardiff again during your time and that promotion season was one of the best football achievements in a long time. Good luck and best wishes for whatever you decide to do next, if it is another football job then I will have a new 2nd team but if it is retirement then you can finish on a real high with what you did at this club. Thank You! :bluescarf:

Definitely one of the best managers I've had the privilege to witness managing the city, I think it was the best decision to leave but we all appreciate what you done for us not only on the pitch but off :thumbright: you saved us and got us to the premier league the next year that's legendary status if you ask me :bluescarf:

A massive thank you for everything you have done for my beloved Cardiff City. You performed a miracle to get us promoted and almost performed another to keep us up...and I think you would have done it too if it wasn't for the tragedy that struck last January. It must have been a tough decision for you to leave the Club but it was probably the right one. Good luck and much happiness to you and your family. You will always be welcome back at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Thank You Neil and all your back room staff for all your hard work yo done and what we all achieved together.I personally wanted you to see your current contract out but it wasn’t to be.
Some people seemed to think you failed this season but they don’t understand the transition in coming down to this league, not that many teams do that well first season back.

Our football club will move on and so will you and I’m sure we will both never forget the memories.
More importantly there’s more to life than football and I wish you and your family good health and good luck in your future.

Thank You.

If VAR had been in last season, we would probably still be a Premier League club. Perhaps I'm wrong because the way the powers that be are implementing it, who knows?
We were cheated at home versus Chelsea. After all it's the English Premier League with English officials. Are they racist????

Couldn’t thank Warnock enough for what he has done with the club. Stabling us first, uniting us all back together, gaining promotion and giving it one hell of a good go when we went up. Will forever be thankful for what he has done at the club, and am gutted to see him go. Still think we should have give him till the rest of the season as he was retiring anyway then had a good look over the summer for a good appointment of manager. As now we seem to be rushing to appoint someone.

Neil,

Come back!

Quickly before it's too late!

We're sorry we didn't appreciate you enough when you were here but looking at the names being bandied around as your successor we obviously don't know what we had until you left.

Seriously though, good luck, good health to you and your family and thanks for some brilliant memories.

The game at Hull in the promotion year was one of the best atmospheres I have experienced in 50 years of following Cardiff and if you'd told me that during my lifetime I'd see a Cardiff side win 2-0 at Old Trafford and thoroughly deserve that victory I would never have believed it.

Posted in another thread but it still holds true....

It is so sad to see Neil go, but I guess all good things come to an end at some stage.

Great OP as I feel that Sharon was pivotal in Neil coming to us, thank you so much Sharon.

Definitely the best Manager in my 40+ years of supporting the boys, and that takes some doing when you think of the likes of Eddie and Frankie.

We were sinking faster than a lead balloon, divided, disjointed, rudderless and fighting amongst ourselves. Then up steps the messiah, totally out of the BLUE. From Day 1 he understood the club, he understood the fans and he knew how to get the best out of the Senior Management and players. He nailed it from top to bottom.

Sir Neil, you are one of the very few people who deserves the title "Legend in their own lifetime". Thank you so much for all that you have done for us......the appreciation goes beyond words. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Mr. Warnock
Let me be one of the many who thanks this man has done at our club.
When he took over, we were 23rd after the Trollope incident. Staring potential relegation in the face. He immediately utilised his contracts to bring in 4 players within 24 hours. Some may not have worked, Chamakh and Richardson, but some are the type of player I could tell my kids about. Sol Bamba, being his main incredible signing. To some this has gone over there heads. They complain about the signings of Madine/Murphy/Reid for large sums of money, but the signings of that summer between the 16/17 and 17/18 season were incredible.
Etheridge, Paterson, Mendez-Laing all from Scotland and League One, all for nominal fees, all come into their own under the management of the veteran manager. Let’s not forget that he spent a whopping 5 million in that Summer. Every player in that squad contributed, even Feeney!

But he brought the club together, up and in the right direction. Those beatings of Villa home, Leeds and Wolves away were vintage Warnock rolling back the years to mastermind these victories. And even though we may not have played well, we’d still grind results out with a (what ended up to be a vital) draw against Fulham and Reading. Seeing the CCS buzzing like it was on that incredible day, Reading 0-0, was a joy to watch. Those few days were insane, but also on a personal level. I was studying for my GCSEs and instead of waking up at 2am worrying about a biology exam, I was worrying about if Cardiff would go up. That meant I was worried at all about any of these exams. Changing my life.

In the top flight, we were ruled out from the start. Half the wage budget of the second lowest, Huddersfield, and only buying championship players we looked like the obvious relegation favourites. He somehow got loans of Arter and Camarasa when he was attending a friendly! Two deals in 90 minutes! Only Neil Warnock. But we fought like a dog. Cynics will say Cardiff came up and were relegated as expected but the incredible memories that all Cardiff fans made that year will last a lifetime. The reason I adore supporting Cardiff as all successes are made even more special by the failures along the way. We had an insane season, my personal highlights include: Hoilett’s goal against Wolverhampton; Fulham victory; Zohore’s last minute winner and that Leicester victory. However it was all contrasted by the death of Sala and the almost death of our captain Morrison. The year was a long slog, physically and emotionally for the players and when we came down it hasn’t gone that well.

Bobby Reid jumped ship early on, Warnock hasn’t pulled out the usual results and Warnockball without Warnockball results caused unhappiness within some fans. The particular losses to Swansea and Bristol City sealed his fate. But we are in a better position than when he took charge.

Whatever your opinion on the man, he changed our club for the better. From the decade I have watched so far, he has easily been the best manager I’ve ever watched. And we should feel really lucky if we see another manager like him. Maybe people don’t like his style but if he is effective.

Thanks for everything you have done for Cardiff (and me :ayatollah: )

Also thank you Mrs. Warnock, for allowing the legendary football manager to take this job in the first place and change the club for the better.

Thankyou Mr and Mrs Warnock, you may be aware of where the club was when you came here but you cant imagine how bad it was. Your skill and enthusiasm picked us up from our knees. For that everyone agrees that you are one of, if not the best manager we've ever had.

A great manager a true straight talking person who I had great respect for.

I don't think it was the right time to go and fed up of people who seem to think they know what is best for this club and I will thank them if my club goes down as Warnock at least would have got something out of this lot even if it was not top 6.

This league is wide open we maybe 14th but could be 6th by xmas it is that close.

But my main issue here is that Warnock should have gone at the next home game so the supporters could at least give
him a good send off not in this back door escape way its so sad to go like that.

We have no money we have the Sala issue what decent manager going to come here?

I had the pleasure of listening to Neil last Thursday at the Butchers in Rhiwbina, he was on top form but I sensed there was something underlying with him. I consider myself fortunate to have been there that evening and the man is an absolute legend. I have been following City all the way back to the Jimmy Scoular days and the man is number one in my book. Thank you Mrs Warnock for getting him out of the house 3 years ago

Class manager ...without him we could have been un League 1 last season not the PL...did a fantastic job but the Sala stuff was the beginning of the end....best manager we have had in decades but time fir a change ....Scotland will suit him as the standard is more basic .
Has left us in a far better place than the day he arrived ... and
