Relegation, some right dodgy decisions and the Sala tragedy must have affected the squad and Neil. I genuinely believed the day we beat Man U should have been this announcement.

We required a rebuild. Gunnar, Bruno, Camarasa and Arter were always going to be big misses. Bobby Reid must have been a situation he was used to, but if your not 100%, professional sport can be ruthless.

We probably needed a two year Malky plan for this season, but we added squad players. How many of us thought we'd bounce straight back up, it was a minor miracle we were promoted in the first place.

It was starting to feel like Slades season and I wouldn't wish that on anyone

I think hes had enough and given everything for our club but it's not enough by his standards so he's left on his terms as befitting his status ..... a legend of club and football in general

I doubt if he has been influenced by fans comments on social media. I expect he knows that a large percentage of those never attend a game. I have always believed that he would know when his time was up and that he would decide when it was time to walk. As far as I am concerned, he united the club and the fans at a difficult time, kept us in the Championship when relegation looked a possibility, and took us to the top flight for only the second time in half a century. I thought we could finish in the top ten at the start of the season, we could either way now and the wrong replacement could just as easily take us towards the relegation zone as get us higher up the table. I remember a similar situation many years ago when we lost a manager who had worked well here, he went as did a couple after him, and the outcome was that we spent years playing the likes of Darlington, Hartlepool, Wrexham etc.

It's a sad day for Cardiff City

Calling fans halfwits is not right. We have had 3 poor transfer windows. Wasted vast money on players and were told we were going to be like Burnley and buy quality and get back up. I will always respect Neil but I lost faith after the negative way we played against Fulham away in the premership. We only got going when we were 1 nil down. Strongly believe if we had won that game we had a great chance to stay up.

Not arguing anymore as its pointless you said he ignored fans when he didn't! Past records are not a basis to keep a manager never have been! Yet you obviously think it's relevant and this season's results/performances are not a basis for him leaving ? Hes gone on his terms as it should be .... as for watching playing out back and smile on face time will tell but cant be any worse than watching Morrison playing the ball into row zz everytime he got ball! I actually said Sunday losing the will to travel 200+miles by watching same tactics week in week out home and away with same result..anyway that's that.

He says as much in the interview, he himself has said,he thinks the squad could do better with a new voice,his words not mine, sad that he has gone,but the lack of him ranting lately,showed something has changed,I believe what happened to poor Emiliano affected him a lot more than he shows to us fans,I did post after the defeat at Swansea, stating I thought he should leave,before the fans starting turning on him in larger and larger numbers,and he has nothing to be ashamed of,has turned the club around,and we are indebted to him for that no doubt,hope he retires and enjoys time with his wife and kids.GOOD LUCK NEIL & THANK YOU VERY MUCH

The performances have been awful. Yes we were unlucky yesterday, but it comes back to not building a squad capable and of challenging. We are 2 or 3 quality players short.

However, and more importantly after Sala I just don’t think he had the passion or fight for it. I don’t think this is a club decision, I’d be fairly confident that this is his decision supported by the club. I guess he is looking forward to more important things in life than football.

He has gone at the right time for him. And, he will go a legend no matter whatever anyone else’s differences on this are. He’s still been one of the best managers in my lifetime, up there with Eddie May, all good things come to an end.

Taking this hard butt by the seem of it. It was on the cards...he knew it was coming. It's ended amicably....could have been a lot nastier if it had gone on much longer. He praised the fans...no afterthought it was in his parting statement. This has been a tough season for Warnock, the Sala tragedy really took it out of him. I'm saddened by this but it's probably for the good...for all parties.
