You don’t have to understand. You know this is an Internet forum don’t you? I’m not ACTUALLY here, my words are here. I’m sunning myself in 30 degree sunshine.

So you would never use the Internet if you lived in a nice place?![]()
This board and planetswans are constantly up in my work office ready to check in quiet moments for the latest bits of information on my team. Living in a wonderful place on the other side of the world has increased my thirst for football not dampened it.
I think it’s awfully sad and probably rather telling that you would drop interest in the club you claim to support so easily for no apparent reason other than it’s sunny

It wouldnt drop my interest in it, but i probably wouldnt be on here every day arguing about attendance figures with opposition supporters. Horses for courses i suppose. There are plenty of passionate fans that have never even looked at this MB or any other one for that matter. It's odd that you would make the leap from not being on here every waking hour to 'dropping interest'

I’m probably a more passionate supporter then, not a criticism, just an observation. Reading about my team, discussing my team or reading what people are making up about my team is a wonderful hobby that I very much enjoy, as most football fans in the world do.
On here every waking hour? Don’t be so daft. I check throughout the day, same with my emails and the stock market. Again it’s not a physical place, it’s a window on my phone or in the corner of my computer. Stop being so dramatic

My club based hobbies are going to games, watching games on tv, chatting with friends about fooball, reading the football news, listening to football podcasts. i doubt any of those would change (other than going to games obviously). I wouldnt really call this a hobby but again, we are all different.
but yes, before you decided to asses my level of passion for the club we were on the topic of away attendance. very encouraging for a wet tuesday game on sky dont you think?

... posting on this forum. Of course it’s a hobby: hobby - an activity done regularly in one's leisure time.
You think it matters if it’s raining?![]()
Both of our average away attendances seem to be around 1000-1500. Anything less is below average, anything above is above average. I don’t take weather into consideration.

And we are back to square one. By all means you can reel off a load of reasons why you believe it is a good turnout, I just made the simple point that if the shoe was on the other foot and this was a picture of our fans then not a single person would be saying how good the turnout was or reeling off excuses for us - it would be labelled as poor following.
Again, just an observation

i cant speak to the other posters but personally i wouldn't care what your away support was. But seeing as you seem to, its a bit silly to say that no variables whatsoever can affect away attendances. every single fan is affected by some thing or other and theres very few fans that consider away games in the first place (that goes for both clubs)

I think you should worry about your own crowds and why a team who were 3rd in the league, having their best start to a season in 40 years and had recently experienced their most successful period in their history cant even get 16,000 for a home match. Obviously that figure would have included tickets sold and not people who actually went so there probably wasn't even 15,000 there.
Do you mean 16,000 exactly? It’s pretty hard to get an exact number, unless you mean over 16,000? In which case we have. Birmingham City 17,277, Nottingham Forest 17,102, Reading 16,036, Stoke City 16,612. We also had double your attendance at our respective home Cup games with the your standard of opposition far higher.
In any case, why would I worry about it? That seems to be our normal Championship attendance. Swansea fans don’t seem be be deluded when it comes to our fanbase, we are perfectly comfortable in our own skin.
What I am pointing out is the reactions to pictures of both crowds when they can be relatively similar. When it’s us “it’s awful”, when it’s you “it’s great” and “must have been taken before everyone arrived” and adding a sneaky 10% on... it’s an accurate and amusing observation, no need to get so het up.
Brentford 15,875 despite the reasons I gave. probably closer to 15,000 as well with people who actually turned up even though You could have potentially gone top of the league. You clearly arnt that comfortably with your attendances as you feel the need to bring ours up whenever you can in what looks like a desperate attempt just to show when our support is similar. Laughable really that it clearly bothers you that much.
I don’t even know what pictures you’re so upset about you tart.
That probably suggests that league position doesn’t matter to our fanbase. We get roughly the same regardless. League matters but not really position, our attendances are fairly solid.
I’m very comfortable with our attendances, why do I care how many go? Do you care how many are in the cinema when you go and watch a movie? Me neither. I am just pointing out the hypocrisy in play here and the “extension of the truth” shall we say.
You don’t have to know what pictures I’m talking about; you joined the conversation and it wasn’t being put to you for review.

The thread was discussing the number of people there and when the picture was taken. I simply provided the original picture showing it was before kickoff and stated the number of fans the Millwall website gave. I didnt say whether it was good or bad support and I definitely don't recall seeing any of the many pictures of your away support that you claim are put on here. The post wasn't even directed at you either. You're the one who decided to use it as an opportunity to start talking about home attendances etc and getting upset and acting all hard done by about two pictures. Grow up like.
You can pretend attendances don't bother you as much as you like, your'e not fooling anyone on here. For someone who claims he is not bothered about them you spend a lot of time talking ours down and yours up whenever you can. Why bother if you don't care, like you make out? You can see how much it bothers as you referred to Annis saying there was 980 there a few times. I think you called him sneaky for adding 10% on? Who really gives a shit about a difference of 79? Apart from you of course. And you say you're not obsessed. You couldn't come across any more obsessed if you tried you tool

No it wasn’t, you cannot make up what the discussion was about to suit your own ends. This was a multi faceted discussion about how many were there, when the picture was taken and the reaction to said photo in comparison to other similar ones.
You are making the clear mistake of personalising the conversation which is probably why you are getting confused. You assume because you haven’t mentioned something then I shouldn’t be discussing it, you are almost viewing this as a 2 way conversation when in fact it’s a 10 way conversation. My responses are with regards to my points I have made on this thread, they aren’t solely directed at you and what you have said.
I’m not bothered about attendances in the slightest, I find this boards obsession with them funny though. I especially find it amusing from a psychological point of view when I see how protective this board is over the notion of its attendances and the reactions they get. Often vastly overhyped, defended to the hilt and completely irrational thought processes. Pointing out the inaccuracy of the 980 figure and also the excuses of when the pic was taken (one said everyone was at the bar for half time) are important points to demonstrate that.
You can pretend I am obsessed all you like if it helps you feel better. But you have now been defending your attendance of 900 odd for 3 pages now, all because I factually pointed out the difference in reactions between photos on here - it wasn’t a complaint either, just an amusing observation. I made that clear several times, surely you didn’t miss it?

Just ensuring the facts are out there
By the way , our average away following this season has been 1700, including Blackburn, Wigan, Hull .. all horrendous trip, evening games at Millwall, Derby ( on Tv where we took 30% more then you did for a 3pm Sat ko first game of the season), and sell outs at our other aways.
Our away support has been superb this season so far.
