Gutting isn’t the word. I can’t remember a week hurting this much in the past 25 years I have supported City. Was so excited to see you scoring goals for us, but I was more excited to show you what we as a club, city and fanbase could have done for you. This is a special and unique club who have been through many ups and downs. This however, feels like we have all lost a family member. My thoughts and prayers are with you both, and they will be for a long, long time to come.

NOT a drum was heard, not a funeral note,
As his corse to the rampart we hurried;
Not a soldier discharged his farewell shot
O'er the grave where our hero we buried.

We buried him darkly at dead of night,
The sods with our bayonets turning,
By the struggling moonbeam's misty light
And the lanthorn dimly burning.

No useless coffin enclosed his breast,
Not in sheet or in shroud we wound him;
But he lay like a warrior taking his rest
With his martial cloak around him.

Few and short were the prayers we said,
And we spoke not a word of sorrow;
But we steadfastly gazed on the face that was dead,
And we bitterly thought of the morrow.

We thought, as we hollow'd his narrow bed
And smooth'd down his lonely pillow,
That the foe and the stranger would tread o'er his head,
And we far away on the billow!

Lightly they'll talk of the spirit that 's gone,
And o'er his cold ashes upbraid him—
But little he'll reck, if they let him sleep on
In the grave where a Briton has laid him.

But half of our heavy task was done
When the clock struck the hour for retiring;
And we heard the distant and random gun
That the foe was sullenly firing.

Slowly and sadly we laid him down,
From the field of his fame fresh and gory;
We carved not a line, and we raised not a stone,
But we left him alone with his glory.

Good evening Annis,

I just wanted to send an email from myself, a Luton Town supporter.

I would like to express my personal and heartfelt sympathy for what you guys and your club have been through in recent days. The dissapearance of Mr Sala and Mr Ibbotson is very, very sad and has really made many people, including myself rethink life. There have been players lost before, both through accidents and age but this has hit the football world so much more. Mr Sala had just realised a dream which is clearly evident in the photos of the day of the signing, and to have it taken away is heart breaking.

I would like to offer my deepest sympathies to Cardiff City FC, Nantes FC, All staff at both clubs aswell as their fans. I have been reading the CCFC forum since the news broke, and the banner that has been made for Mr Sala even brought a tear to me eye. Football is at times a very strange game with silly rivalries but this is has made me aswell as others, realise how fragile life is.

I will continue to pray for both men, and all the people associated with them. I have so much respect for you guys on the CCFC forum nd my thoughts are with you all. Please remember that all true football fans stand shoulder to shoulder with you in these sad times and are always here for you all. You have all been a shining light for your club, whatever you do - keep that light and make it even brighter.

If you can please post this on your forum it would be much appreciated.

Regards

Lee

A Luton Town FC fan - always in my thoughts and in the thoughts of countless others.
