Cardiff City winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is facing up to three months out with a knee injury.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury in a tackle with Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Ben Hamer during Saturday's 0-0 Premier League draw.

Cardiff were already without fellow winger Junior Hoilett due to a groin injury, albeit less severe.

"He's [Mendez-Laing] done his posterior cruciate, which is good news my physio says," said Cardiff boss Neil Warnock.

"Because if he'd done his anterior [cruciate ligament] that's all season, whereas he'll probably be back in December. Three months, something like that."

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, the Bluebirds winger injured at Huddersfield, could be out for six months.

That is a major blow for the player and Cardiff City after scans showed the damage sustained in a collision with Huddersfield’s goalkeeper.

Mendez-Laing is in a leg brace and has damaged ligaments in his left knee. He will be out for between three and six months.

Ages behind you pal.

Neil, I believe he got it from here in the first place

Wonder if he will post a story about Cardiff signing a free agent to replace NML in the squad after reading IGov’s bullshite ha?

And who the f**k are you to say what I have stated is not correct, it is you who know piss all, perhaps when it is black and white you can apologize, though i will not hold my breath

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will miss at least three months

Sky Sports

Cardiff winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing faces three months on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury.

Mendez-Laing was carried off during the Premier League draw against Huddersfield three days ago, and City manager Neil Warnock confirmed – after a 3-1 Carabao Cup second-round loss to Norwich – the extent of his injury.

"He has done his posterior cruciate ligament, which is good news, my physio says, because if he had done his anterior that’s all season," Warnock said.

I posted the rules. Granted they were a funny colour and not black and white but they did show we couldn’t sign and register someone signed outside of the transfer window. It was pretty clear. It’s further re-inforced by the fact none of the 20 teams have signed a free agent.

The bit that isn’t clear is whether current members of the squad not in our 25 can be named in the 25. Again we will see Saturday if any team makes any changes to their original 25. That wouldn’t prove conclusive either Way however.

You have posted numerous aggressive posts too. Chill out man. It’s a Messageboard. Even if I’m right does it really matter?

I’ve got another snippet too just for you.

We will soon find out for sure.

If Toure signs for a Premier League club then I’ll admit I was wrong.

Of course it is all down to personal interpretation but the rule states that 'a change to the squad list at other times' (once the transfer window has closed) can only happen with the permission of the PL Board.

My take is that you need the Board's permission to change the squad list even if it is exchanging players already at the club. Castleblue explained earlier that this really only applies to specialist positions such as a Goalkeeper and not a winger.

TBH Mac you and Igov are both right it's just you are both looking at this from different angles which are essentially the same.

Nothing that we already didn't know really apart from it's confirmed, Warnock using this to deflect the performance last night.. easily fooled some supporters to forget about last night.

Wrong Dando, it wasn't out anywhere in the media, it was put on here virtually a full day before the Media found out :bluebird:

I'm sure I read somewhere before last night that what has now been reported is now actually the case, he posted on social media and it didn't look good so it's no point pretending it was only gonna be 2 games he was missing.

It is sad for the lad because he really has outdone himself here and worked hard whenever he has played but I just feel like Warnock feeding this out last night after that performance sort of deflects the game last night away because supporters will ask questions about what was on show last night.
