Spot on. Many on here refer about the last time that we splashed the cash and wasted money in the Premiership whereas in fact this was not the case. We did recover a lot of the money.

The clubs financial stability is important and its vital that we don’t overspend but it seems many fans are petrified of spending a penny too much. The club is receiving huge sums as a result of being promoted. If you look at the bigger picture and invest wisely to stay in the top flight then debts are eradicated completely. (I am not a gambler but that’s the way I see it, investment will pay dividends). The club would go from strength to strength. Why can the top teams spend 200m a season? Because they started off like us but stayed there and have been rewarded with huge sums of money EVERY season. I hope that the club are not just happy to settle for the parachute payments if relegated but are going to give it a go. Everything done so far appears to be on a budget. I would rather get 3 quality (Gary Medel) type players who will not lose their value than sign 6 average players. It’s a fine balancing act. These opportunities do not come around often. By the way Reid & Murphy May well do a great job in the Premiership.

like you, I'm not against the signings made. I can see sense in the duality of them being able to cut it in both leagues (hopefully) but where is the class needed to definitely be a hit at prem level?

I keep hearing the phrase 'big time Charlie's' I see nothing wrong in signing players who ruthlessly believe themselves to be elite players! :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

You sound like a Gloryboy and need to get the facts right. We spent over 30 million that's more than the likes of Burnley and the likes of Everton last their Preseason friendly I guess they are doomed as well.

I think the problem with Big Time Charlie’s is those that aren’t the right quality, think they are and want paying like they are.

Jody Morris springs to mind who we almost signed. Tom Inces another. Both close calls we almost wasted money on.

Believe it or not your facts are incorrect. The press are reporting that we have spent 29m so far (Murphy 12, Cunningham & Smithies 3.5 and Reid 10).In fact Neil Warnock stated at a Q&A session that I was at that those figures and the press should not be believed. NW stated that City had spent 24m and that there was another 10m in the budget.

As already said the figures are incorrect but also why compare our spending to burley? They could spend £0 and as long as they retain their squad they have a team capable of finishing 7th in the prem, we on the other hand certainly do not at the moment imo.

Deluded people on this thread

What money? It might be 100m roughly for being promoted but since62 has already said even with promotion the club only had around a 50m excesss

Add in increased costs for wages already on players here new signings and there wages and that’s your budget gone already

Think before you speak people

The owner has written off tens of millions that alone tells you there is no money ....

Well, I'll disagree when one factor in appearance fee's Ect.. but even 24 million is far more than the likes of Burnley spent so far. That's not included the players we've resigned the wage bill and Tan writing off 70 million of debt. Funny how so many on this board called for the Club to be run within its means, wanted us to play in Blue (no matter is it meant us down in the lower leagues and no spending) only for now to want the Club to spend millions and millions of money we haven't got

We got a nice squad and sorting out the finances, so even if we did go down, we are in a far better position to go back up. I like to see a Striker brought in, but quite happy with the spending and players brought in so far. Hopefully we had money to spend in the January window too
