£2mill upfront / plus £4mill if City are promoted :thumbright: :bluebird:

And bogle

Absolute shambles of a deal, we’ve had our pants pulled down

Until you know the exact deal don't panic :thumbright:

Not panicking, can only judge on what we know.

If we do end up getting promoted, we are already -4m on a player who probably wouldn’t play

If we do get promoted it would be from madines goals,so 4m would be peanuts then

Being 4m into your budget on a player you’ll need to replace definately isn’t peanuts

Well the answer to your concerns is not to buy him and hope we get promoted with ken's goals?

What’s with all the negativity about this signing ?

The way I see it for £2million we have signed a 6’3” target man, which is what the team needs badly, which has to be about the right sort of money for a championship striker surely.

It only goes up to £4million if we get promoted.

If we get promoted it will be due to Madines goals or Zohore’s as the arrival of another capable striker either gives him the motivation he needs or supplies him with the knock downs to run onto if playing together.

Either way £4 million pound if we get promoted will look like peanuts in comparison to the revenue return.

So an initial outlay of £2mill is good business, what would people have said if we had payed that for Grabban and he didn’t get us promoted.

In NW we have to trust ;)

Warnock said he was his number 1 target all season...but he said :laughing6: the same about Tomlin and then the same about Bryson!!

Well if he scores the goals to take us up, his value would surely increase so how come we'd be 4 million down?

And bogle

Aren't they all different type of players. Perhaps Neil has hit all his number 1 targets in numerous positions. ;)

One thing is for sure Madine was named as a target well before Grabban was even mentioned.

Hands up I was completely disallusioned and thought wed wasted the month but glad we’ve got another striker - for me now it’s either keeping our creativity or if Tomlins going replacing it

Cardiff City have completed their search for a new striker by bringing in Gary Madine from Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old joins the Bluebirds on a three-and-a-half-year deal and is rumoured to have cost up to £6m to prise away from relegation-threatened Bolton.

Madine was one of three options on the table for Cardiff, along with Bournemouth's Lewis Grabban and Ipswich Town ace David McGoldrick, the former of whom is now likely to make a temporary switch to Aston Villa.

City boss Neil Warnock has seemingly spent big to bolster his squad for their bid to reach the Premier League, though, with Wanderers recently declaring that they would not sell their star man unless a large bid was received.

After making his third signing of the winter window, Warnock told his side's official website: "He's been my number one choice all season and I'm delighted to capture him.

"He's been worth the wait, although I must admit that it wasn't until the last 24 hours that I thought it might be possible. I must thank Vincent [Tan], Mehmet [Dalman] and Ken [Choo] for their hard work in getting this over the line. I'm sure the fans will join me in welcoming Gary to the club."

Marko Grujic and Yanic Wildschut have also joined Cardiff this month, arriving from Liverpool and Norwich City respectively on loan.

@roathboy
Warnock has got his man in Madine, but I have major reservations, with his price and character. He has a three-and-a-half year deal too, which seems rather optimistic when he gets nicked every few years

f*cking hell, if we get promotion this guy will have cost us £6m, and probably a pretty decent chunk of wage, the same guy who struggled to cut it in league one with Bolton. fans on here make me laugh though, when tomlin signed, "NW will get the best out of him, he'll get him in shape"...these players have a bad reputation for a reason.

god I hope I'm wrong but this is just dreadful, seems to be a rash buy
