I don't know what part of the result you don't understand?? The result was final - Brexit was the decision of the majority - thats how democracy works.Tell me then how something that was only advisory(The referendum)is binding in law.I understand the result for what it is but could you tell me honestly if the result had gone the other way you would have accepted it without comment.

As for the remainers being entitled to representation - NO. The deal was In or OUT - not halfway in or halfway out - it was OUT!So at the next election your saying nomatter who wins theres no point having another election ever again.

Remain lost and the Leave won! It doesn't matter even if it was 50.1% voted leave - its irrelevant! In the context of that vote I agree but It doesn't mean people can't disagree and lawfully try to change/influence to the contrary.

I stand by the view that politicians who are calling for a rerun - Fascists!!! They are dangerous people who are anti-democratic!This is your silliest statement-they are infact exercising their democratic right.

Don't worry, I understand there are also people out there who believe the same and once again in my opinion these people are also fascists! Accept the will of the majority or piss off!!!
Only works like that in your world.

The referendum was advisory (although no-one bothered to tell us that at the time) but that is NO excuse to ignore the will of the majority.

At General Elections you vote for a Parliament which lasts 5 years and by law another one has to be held when that one is dissolved at the end of that period. A referendum does-not have a legal timescale but it is accepted they usually have a life span of a generation (at least 25 years).

The losing side have a right to put their point across but they don't have the right to deny the will of the majority.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the referendum was purely advisory. It has no force in law.

does this mean the 1997 welsh assembly referendum was also only advisory we ended up with an assembley only 25% of those eligable to vote wanted, can we all call those 25% thickos and have another election?

Be great if we could for all the good they've done. And I had a great idea,we could tell the welsh public that all the money we'd save by ditching the WAG could be spent on the welsh NHS..............oh wait a minute

im not really anti assembley or pro brexit. just pro democracy

Democracy has many guises.

well in this guise the government clearly voted for a referendum. and the pple have spoken.a record number toboot..only it was the wrong pple that won.dull thickos lol

I think the biggest thicko was David Cameron for foisting all this upon us just to placate a few rebels in his own party without sticking his toe in the water and guageing the mood of the country. It cost him and his sidekick his job! Not that they'll worry too much about that; I see he's had a shoo-in to a plum and easy sinecure and I read last week his Eton mate is now charging £80k an hour for speeches!

If they announced the referendum was advisory before the vote i guess "leave" would have been a lot stronger. It was taken as the real thing because anything else would have been considered a symbolic protest vote.

How the French vote today and in the spring will be massive as well how wounded Merkel is in the summer.

Its worth remembering that the Germans pay for this with us second. No one wins with us leaving, its about minimising the loss for all. A recession in the UK will lead to a pan European recession, the Germans won't be happy with that. They may keep their dissatisfied population happy when they are continually moving forward, but VW have announced big (huge) redundancies a few more could set them over the edge. Merkel will be sensible

Blair, Major, Jean Claude Junker & Donald Tusk are meaningless in this debate.
