We are the 5th richest economy in the world and we are allowing this to happen on our doorstep? We have a moral obligation to help these people who want to make this country better, these people are fleeing war and persecution and are among the poorest and most desperate in the world. We have more than enough resources to give these people a sanctuary and safety and give them a chance to start a fresh.

REFUGEES WELCOME

Shame you don't show the other side isn't it. They are rapists, scroungers unemployable and want our welfare system. They all need rounding up and deported as they're economic migrants.

99.99% are single men. Why aren't they staying home protecting their wife and children if they have any.

So many uneducated and heartless views here. There is no denying, not every refugee is a good egg but neither is every British citizen. They are fleeing from a war that we played a big part in. They are not coming here for a jolly or to take advantage of our country. They have no other option. The vast majority are stopping off in other EU countries. It's a myth that they all want to come here. Believe it or not, they'd much prefer other countries like Germany and Denmark etc.

Migration has played a key role in making the UK what it is today. If we all take a look at our family history then the vast majority will have a lineage that goes back to foreign blood.

It goes without saying, this situation needs to be managed effectively but I am more than happy for refugees to come into this country if they are willing to contribute to our society. That said, I'd happily export a number of wasters who are "British born and bred" that offer absolutely nothing to our society. Can we offer trades?

But surely the there has to be protection for UK citizen's? I would like to help the most vulnerable refugees (for example the orphaned children) but I don't agree that any migrant who fancies living in the UK by claiming to be a refugee should get the chance.

You correctly point out that our history is littered with waves of migrants including the Vikings who raped and pillaged their way across Britain. I would prefer if we avoided the 21st Century version as shown by those allowed into Germany and properly vetted these people before allowing admittance.

There is also terrorist threats to consider and the last thing we want is to let in a migrant who then takes part in mass killings like 7/7 or Paris.

Asylum is also supposed to be a temporary measure when safety is guaranteed until the home country is safe. It always baffles me why these people cannot return when their country becomes stable. I would also like a condition that any migrant/refugee who commits a serious crime or act of terrorism is deported no matter what and hard luck on them if their lives are at danger if returned to their homeland.

I believe in the EU project although there are things I would change. I do believe the EU is racist and elitist, I am unsure which way to vote. As for your pathetic and sexist comment about Leanne Wood, whatever. I believe in a free and socialist Wales where refugees are welcome and can live without fear and a country where the gap between the rich and poor is narrower.

What political party do you vote for? Does it begin with a B or a U?

Thank you for reminding me why I will NEVER vote for Plaid.

You are same people who moan abou the NHS etc being overstretched andunder funded and then want us to accept people who have contributed nothing to this country.

If fleeing persecution they should have been content enough to have stopped in the safest nearest country to their own in the hope that they can return there at a later stage.

Another generalisation. I actually volunteer down the local soup kitchen and food bank, a place where homeless people of all nationalities can come and have a good meal for free. I was there on Christmas day actually, do you do anything for the homeless? I don't believe anyone should be living on the streets of Britain, we are rich enough to look after all.

CORRECT Wez.

Ive just had to pay 211 euros, just to have papers translated to get my kids in School in Mallorca, plus 70euros each for NI numbers, plus show I pay Council Tax over there and pay for private medical for them.

On Newport road every day,7 days a week 2 coaches, luxury brand-new coaches arrive and they are housed within in 48 hrs, free medical, free dentist et etc and Marks/Spencers/Asda/WAitrose etc deliver food every day to them.
Today police were out there as trouble once again.

You and my taxes pay for all that and yet they moan, we never asked them to come here, thats part of the reason why I am leaving.

I don't for one minute think that they all speak English and all have family here. In fact, I know that this is not the case. Maybe you should spend less time on your keyboard, and more time on helping them all. They are already in a modern country with excellent hospitals etc. I wonder what the true reason for them wanting to come here is. I know the answer, some have been truthful enough to say why they are desperate to get to the UK.

Would you go to parts of Cardiff and say "hey you brown man, you don't belong here, bugger off". I doubt it. It's racist to not want someone in "your" country because of their colour or creed.

Wtf are you on about now it's got nothing to do with colour you pleb as there is different types of people in Calais the fact is britain is full enough is enough you need to get your head out of your ass and realise our infrastructure can't cope anymore
