No of course no guarantee but I just wonder if the logic makes sense. If it meant we got a better manager in, got rid of the deadwood and developed a better team, wouldn't it be worth a couple of defeats? All ifs and buts I accept.

Can't see that it matters if we lose the next few or win them. We are going to be playing Championship football for the rest of the season, and next season as well whatever happens during the next week or so. Sometimes you have to look a bit further than the next couple of games and look at the bigger picture. If a couple of defeats guaranteed long term success, I'd be all for it. Personally, I don't think Slade will be going anywhere for a while whatever happens in our next two games, and with the cost cutting going on here he probably would'nt be replaced with anyone much better. Unfortunately, getting rid of him would'nt guarantee that things would be better, we could end up with Young standing in until the end of the season.

No as it happens I agree with you Steve, I dont think Slade will be going anywhere soon. Tan has lost all interest in us so short of plummeting down the league Slade is safe. However I believe yhe logic of the argument is correct and, paradoxically shows more club loyalty thsn simple blind faith. God forbid Young should take over but thank goodness I think that would be an extreme longshot. I wouldnt put it past Tan to make him Director of Football though :laughing5:

i disagree look at the team we got compared to Brighton and they're flying.we should be at least 4th with the squad we got no problem.brighton are a great example of what a manager can bring to the team  :ayatollah:

Agree most of that lot on Sunday were our seconds apart from Manga, Noone and Fabio and our first team is a lot better. But be realistic if any of our regulars are injured or suspended we sure as hell aint got any strength in depth.
the way we played against Bristol and Shrewsbury has been abysmal to say the least its just no chemistry between the players and that's the managers job to get them going and play for the badge but he can't do it.he can't even pick the best team and tbh I only rate slade for his business sense I'm not talking about his signings but he's done a job at stabilising the club which I respect him for but for me he's a secretary at best or maybe league 2 manager

Reasonable question (I think) Paul, but would you travel in excess of 100 miles with fuel costs plus Severn Bridge charges and traffic problems to support the team every home game?

as long as i could afford it of course i would. my uncle goes to all home games travelling from sussex, but he doesnt stand at the gates waiting for a round of applause from everyone. not sure why this idiot even mentioned it.

all that travelling to hope we lose a game :laughing5: :laughing5:

That's fair enough, fella

I just don't understand the vehemence with which you attack a guy for saying he is not sure he wants to continue putting himself out after 50+ years of obvious loyal support when the club no longer appear to care about the fans; something I agree is lacking from them after 45+ years of supporting them myself ;)

that wasnt my point though, its not weather he goes or not anymore, its the hoping we lose that i was picking him up on

Sadly, I think there is an increasingly large group of fans who are prepared for City to lose IF it means Slade goes. I don't sign up with that personally and want City to win every match with a passion. However, I think Slade is no longer the man to lead our club and can (sort of) understand the frustration of some fans that the club itself cannot see what is occurring on the terraces

As much as I can see why people are staying away, I must admit that I hate all of this "I have followed Cardiff for the past 30 years" as if it makes then better supporters than us. It's about time being got off their high horses.

Just because somebody has supported a club for 30+ years, it doesn't make them any more of a fan than people who have only supported them 10 or so years.

At the end of the day, a Cardiff fan is a Cardiff fan to me - Whether new or old...

I think you miss the point, which is that (shall we say) longer attending supporters have seen this club go through a lot and are pretty well placed to make judgements on where the club and/or its owners and management are taking the club!

Doesn't make them 'better' supporters (and I've seen none that claim that) but it does occasionally make them better informed to assess what is truly happening at our club after nearly losing the club on more than one occasion and then seeing 10+ years of upward mobility...until now! ;)

There is no point in Slade going now, and there certainly isn't any point in getting rid of him in 2 games time if we lose them. There are no credible alternatives available at the moment, so we will be sticking with him at least until the end of the season.

After supporting Cardiff City for the last 50 years, and a long term season ticket holder travelling from Somerset to attend games, if Slade is still in charge at the start of next season I probably will support Taunton Town next season and will see more attractive football!

Probably?????

Yes - it is difficult to walk away from something you have been passionate for for such a long time - but this season the football has been dreadful. I think Slade will be gone though - so I will have no decision to make

why threaten? Either you will or you won't

if you don't like the football, stop now!
Don't make the long journey from Somerset for the Rotherham game or any other after that if you don't like it.
Then come back when the football gets more entertaining for you. It's your choice.

but using words like "probably" just seems like you are pouting and attention seeking.

As you say - its my choice - and as I have paid for my season ticket, I wont 'stop now'.

Surely the cost of travelling to the games from Somerset outweighs the fact that you've already bought your season ticket! If you've decided enough is enough then your just throwing good money after bad?

I've got to be honest i'm with Paul on this I just can't get my head around people wanting us to lose when there is still more than a glimmer of hope of us making the play offs.

I also don't understand all these people who have supported the club for x number of years who find that now is the point where the football is so bad they are going to walk away - so they were loyal throughout the eighties and nineties when we were in the dungeons but now we have a couple of seasons of mid table mediocraty in the championship it's all too much for them?

Each to their own and if someone has lost the passion fair enough (and of course the rebrand has had its effect) but it just makes no sense to me personally - there have been far darker times than these at CCFC in the not too distant past.

Personally, I think the end game is near but Tan is a little reluctant to 'pull the trigger' after (from his point of view) Russell Slade has done the job required

Simple choice for Tan now; listen to his 'on-site' Directors and appease the increasingly disillusioned fanbase or carry on regardless

I always used to believe in the law of averages, but your predictions so far are making me realise there's no such thing. If there was, surely one of your predictions would have been right by now. I suppose if you keep saying Saadi will be on the bench for the next 20 games, you should be right eventually.
