Cardiff shouldn't worry about lack of atmosphere at games. If we beat Man City again, the place rocks. CCS wasn't built for Championship football.

I don't see moving to the CCS as 'progress' if we are still in the same league as before as it's just bigger, with a shittier atmosphere. The stadium is too big to play at the level we are at.

Relegation was a disaster and much harder hitting than it would be to other clubs our size that have a traditional football ground such as Burnley

Forget about the red seats. If the ground is full you can't see them!

The fanzone and beer promotions sound good. Also interesting to see that Cardiff players are amongst the most active in schools and community. Good on them but where is the payback if there aren't bargains for youngsters to be able to come with mates like us old timers used to do? Make it cool and cheap for them and within a couple of years, you'll have them for life.

Success on the pitch is key and a charm coffensevery by the board/club together will create a feel-good factor.

To all the miseries who hate music links, tough! It doesn't have to be agadoo or Barbie Girl. It could be something relevant. Everybody loves Yma O Hyd. Just a short extract of the chorus. It needs to be something the fans want to join in with. Next time you watch Sky Sports, pay Clive attention to music and effects. They are everywhere!! Doesn't harm their ratings though.

Well done on the club for at least listening to fans. Let's see how that translates into actions. :old:

Music, cheap beer, change the seat colour. It's all bollox, put a proper manager in charge that fans Beleive will make a difference and deliver our future, not a failed tennis coach. I take my hat off to those trying to make a difference but shaving 50p off a pint in a "special fan zone" is cringeworthy. Get rid of the arsehole stewards, give our ground back so we can make it passionate and a fortress. Tan is the issue. Unity starts with the mgr. slade is a weak yes man and tan will not employ a mgr that challenges his vision of what is required to deliver. Allardyce, warnock, ? No we'll have yes man slade. While tan is in charge our club will remain the same. Before you " I bet he doesn't go to games shit starts" yes I do and I'm sick of this shit. We need a mgr, not a puppet

The only way it will be improved is by moving either our singing section or moving the away end next to our vocal support. Things CAN be moved around, Derby and Middlesbrough have drastically changed their stadium set-up over the last season or so (singing section/away end/family area) and their atmospheres have improved massively because of it.

Other than that, success is our only hope.

bringing in a few schools around south wales. every home game, is surely a must. 100 tickets we arent going to sell anyway, the amount spent by 80 kids/20 adults will only be a few hundred, but if you get the kids to want to come again we can make a few season ticket holders for life.

18 home league games left (after charlton) thats 36 schools over the course of the season... if you work on the basis of an 80/20 kids/adult split, then thats 1440 children who might not otherwise have seen a game, and many more potential customers. considering we arent even half filling the stadium at the moment its insane that we dont do this.

Instead of goal music, they should do what some European teams do when someone scores. The announcer says the goal scorers first name and the crowd shout th surname.

And because it's been suggested in a meeting with a bunch of old farts means you are correct ?

f**k goal music - nothing more annoying, though drums and a band come very close.

The meeting to get more atmosphere in the ground yet no younger supporters appear to be getting the chance to forward ideas.

No I mentioned it on here a while ago actually what harm can goal music do really?

Apologies. My wording shouldn't have been 'suggested' but maybe 'agreed', though i'm fairly sure you wouldn't be the person who originated the idea.
Either way, goal music is unneccessary. If supporters cannot get excited in the brief moment after a goal has been scored without the need to be pre-empted by some music through the tannoy system then you have to question what they are attending games for at all.

I think it adds that little bit of edge and image it may not be to everyone's taste but I like it . :thumbright:

If you were at the Blackpool game when it was tried a few seasons ago you may remember that virtually all the stadium went silent after the goal music was played and it instantly killed the atmosphere. NO GOAL MUSIC thank you

All the Gimmicks and new ideas in the world will not put Bums on seats :digging2:

Finding out why each and every supporter both old and new who does not go anymore would tell the CLUB what it's done wrong!

Bring on the DRUM :digging2:

It beggars belief that no one has done this from the Club already?

It will be far to late soon to attract anyone (great football or not) :digging2:

Over 4 years have gone by and we've been treated like shit,as they say we are customers not fans, but customers usually get treated better.
Yes we got our Blue back, but at that point they thought we were sinking this low anyway and they thought it would stop the rot,but it was far to late and the record low crowds prove it and they are going to get less,if nothing major is done.

They had meetings last March/April and May etc about looking after the fans, nothing came of it.
Season tickets should of been pushed out to the under16s for virtually peanuts,we had nothing to lose by that.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

Tue Sep 22, 2015 11:48 am

Personally renewing this year was all about finance for me. I travel 120 mile round trip for a home game and it is very hard to justify this if the game is live on TV. Having a season ticket gives you maybe 4-5 "free" games based on the current pricing structure. If has been suggested above the season tickets were £200 for the season, the game could be live on TV and I'm being served beer by a buxom wench I'd still make the effort to attend as the expense on travel would be negated. This season, my mate and I are sharing a season ticket as he struggles some Saturdays but works in Cardiff so mid week is fine while I find mid week a hassle as travelling at peak rush hour adds another hour to the journey. It's working for us. I paid £180 for ten games he gets the rest, but if seasons were £200 we'd both have one and chances are we'd both attend most games, more beer and food money for the club. Do the club gain from this though or does any profit go to Compass. If so this probably makes the idea of a supporters bar a mute point. PS I don't need telling that tickets are non transferrable! :|

Cardiff Supporters Aiming to Re-establish Atmosphere

Cardiff Supporters Aiming to Re-establish Atmosphere

A supporters meeting was held at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday evening to discuss the current atmosphere on matchday. A turbulent and somewhat unsuccessful couple of seasons has seen supporters disappear and the atmosphere subsequently fizzling out, Vince Alm hosted the meeting which aimed to re-establish the once famous atmosphere.

The Bluebirds supporters have looked to the likes of Crystal Palace for inspiration as they look to re-capture the Ninian Park spirit. Crystal Palace with the help of successful times on the field, have managed to make Selhurst Park a fortress with banners, drums, the odd megaphone and a number of topless supporters.

With inspiration from ‘European Ultras’, Selhurst Park has become a cauldron of noise whether the Eagles win, lose or draw. Another aspect of Selhurst Park (among other grounds) which Cardiff supporters are looking at is the infamous ‘goal music’. Palace use the iconic song “Glad All Over by Carl Perkins” while other clubs use songs like “Chelsea Dagger” and “Hi Ho Silver Lining”.

Many supporters oppose the idea of goal music, describing it as “cheesy” and “tacky” but there is a feeling that Cardiff City have to try something. There is no doubt that at some clubs, when done right, goal music does work and the need to get it right was reiterated at the meeting. Be sure to vote on whether you would like goal music or not at the bottom of the article.

Another thought put forward was the idea of a brass band or a set of drums, drums were voted as the favoured idea. Cardiff brought in a drum to a number of home games a couple of years back in order to inspire singing in the stands but it was only for a small run of games.

Drums can be a good idea to improve the atmosphere and again, it does work when its done right but when its done wrong it can prove annoying at times. Reading use a drum at the Madejski Stadium but when the singing stops, the drum does not and this often proves frustrating for some supporters.

Elsewhere, at the King Power Stadium (Leicester) drumming is done right, with a designated supporter, other fans get behind the drum and the atmosphere is created throughout the stadium.

Another idea was to introduce a megaphone to the stands, the idea is inspired by European supporters from the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. A megaphone is given to one supporter who essentially leads the chants and makes sure the singing very rarely stops. The megaphone could be a good idea but supporters have to get behind the designated ‘chanter’.

One of the biggest ideas and perhaps the most feasible is to introduce large banners and flags, a number of flag designs were given to supporters at the meeting but the supporters club are open to ideas so if you can offer a design the be sure to contact Vince Alm.

The idea is to dress the Canton Stand in banners in a similar way to what many European and South American sides do. The Supporters Club have generously offered £1,000 to purchase banners and flags while club director Steve Borley has kindly offered to match that donation.

There were a number of other ideas discussed such as a ‘fanzone’ or designated pub for supporters to attend before and after the game, a supporters committee to regularly meet up and discuss new songs and ideas to improve the atmosphere, loyalty discounts and free tickets for schools (an idea which often helped fill up Ninian Park).

Here we go again. Try watching the game instead of looking at the seats.

You must be the only person that doesn't care about that monstrosity. There's always one who doesn't give a f**k about the constant reminder of being shafted by Tan.

How can you make a singing section? Is it compulsory? Can you sing here but not there? You can have a standing tolerant area but not a singing area.

As for a testimonial. If some want to go and watch a meaningless kick around then that's up to them I certainly wont go there for to watch it. Testimonials are a thing of the past.

A better idea would be to dedicate a normal league fixture to the player. With proceeds going to him. But personally I don't believe players need a testimonial.

Flags and banners will be nice, but what t needs is a change of mindset from fans.
If we all cut the whinging and excuses and just got behind whoever sings whenever they sing there won't be a problem.

It just takes some effort.

This won't be popular but for fans who want to stand, you will be helping the club so much moving to the Canton.
Improving the atmosphere and cutting the constant aggregation.

A fan was telling us about his move last night to the Canton and said he is loving it.

All it needs really is for us as fans to SUPPORT. And to stop trying to change things which aren't going to change and to live for the now rather than hark back to the past.

On Saturday I'll be joining in with anyone who I can hear sing near me.
Why not do the same ?

Don't understand the clamour for goal music.

The atmosphere is fine if we've scored, it's when we're not that there's a problem.

Re: UPDATED ' CCFC TONIGHTS MEETING IN FULL '

I'm 100% behind trying to improve the atmosphere but let's not follow the european ultras route, it's extremely cringeworthy. The british atmosphere is unique, it's something foreign players always use to mention when joining british clubs, I know the intimidation factor has gone but let's bring OUR own atmosphere back. Also no goal music please !

More players songs,
Bring back some of our old songs,
Big flag displaying our identity,
More passion !!

Totally agree, its odd.

Also replacing Men of Harlech, the one thing that actually gets the fans involved with something else.
