This began with Tan and no one else.

Spot on!!

To be fair, I am still hurting by what Tan did to our club and I will never ever forgive him or the Red Brigade.
They both destroyed the heart of the club I loved.
But I love the name Cardiff City and it's still part of me and I won't let them destroy that :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

I must say past two years haven't been enjoyable in the ground. Not just the results but the stadium was as entertaining as the middle east. Don't think tan or the "red brigade" are completely to blame. We definitely need a new stadium manager I feel.

But as you said Cardiff city is the team I love and always will be. And shall support them till the day I die.

Good seeing yourself and Carl briefly today by the way :ayatollah:

Also the last couple of years have been my worst years in feeling for our club in my 43 years of following them.

Worst home crowd ever? It's the worst in 2 games, we had 6134 against AFC Wimbledon ;)

We had 1,700 against Halifax Town at the old Nin :bluebird:

Simon that was the real old bad days at Ninian Park.

At this new modern stadium it's our lowest ever crowds and yet we have had nothing but success.

Rebrand hurt us beyond,Tans circus did not help,Premier League being a disaster did not help,Red Brigade did not help, Club distanced itself from our fans and Glory hunters to many we had.

So Anni's you think we would Never have a lowest crowd at stadium at all? Since its been open we have had more than 13k ST holders so would never have less than 13k no matter what.! This season we have less than 13k ST so always danger of it happening this season particularly at beginning, all stadiums have lowest attendance at some point ? Blaming tan or the Pope just masks how many glory hunters we have as fans,

They'll be back if we're amongst it near Christmas time. We've always been like this. I think last seasons performances put a lot off as we weren't challenging or playing attractive football. Sounds fickle, but ever since we been at the stadium we've had success. Didn't help all this red nonsense and negativity but I think they'll be back soon if we keep picking up results.

I go and the football is dire, for me the standard of the championship has collapsed to say where it was 5/6 years ago. That combined with the red bollocks some people have simply said enough. Why shell out on mediocrity ?I know the hardcore will say go at all costs but I am afraid the world has changed and people who were concrete fans for decades have left full stop. They will not return neither will their children.A shame I know but I am trying to be honest.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sat Sep 12, 2015 10:17 pm

We're back to the type of crowds we were having ten years ago in Ninian Park. The 're-brand' has come and gone. Plenty on here say that they have got out of the habit, and are doing other things. All of which is fair enough. Some have left, but new fans have taken their place. It was always like this. Nothing new under the sun. This season's average, so far, reflects where we are just now. All the negativity doesn't help, though.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sat Sep 12, 2015 10:26 pm

Personally I didn't renew for two reasons, one I've had other big things to spend on ie got married, bought a house. Two a price increase didn't seem warranted.

I also knew attendances would be well down and the offers would come flooding, I've been offered tickets for pretty much all games and if I wasn't away could have had wolves game for a fiver and I don't think season tickets are great value anymore.

record lows wonder why that is? could it be That in previous years our ST holders were far more than 13k so impossible to go below 13k now we have only around 10K we are bound to have a lowest ever crowd at some point because history shows you we only generally get 2or 3k walk up fans even when doing extremely well it was just that!! its only 3rd home game so expect low crowds i would be worried if we were in top 6 later in season and have less than 15k, basically this season is 1st in about 8yrs where we have not come off a good previous season and we are seeing true supporters not good time charlies!!

The Club need to ask themselves one question. "How do we entice back the missing 10-12,000 fans who for whatever reason no longer attend home matches?" For me the answer lies in making the match day experience more enjoyable and making our fans feel as welcomed as the visiting fans. Everything possible should be looked at to improve the lifeless,, passionless atmosphere and if that means moving likeminded fans to an area where standing and singing and supporting the team is encouraged then so be it. Our stadium has great facilities but until the Club do everything they can to improve the atmosphere the missing thousands won't return. It's sad but there is no buzz there currently and a lot of fans have had enough and many prefer to travel away to support the team where the atmosphere among the travelling faithful is passionate and loud. No matter what division we find ourselves in this must be addressed before the start of next season. :bluescarf:

I said this to Ken Choo, he said they will return as soon as we are winning, Carl and I said it wont happen that quick and the problem is much deeper than that.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Sun Sep 13, 2015 9:25 am

Who are these "others"? I dont think they exist.

We have always had poor attendances in reality. Our move to the stadium saw a sharp increase and we have only seen relative success while there so it never really got out of the new stadium honeymoon period.

2-3 seasons ago it started to come out of it naturally but the numbers were kept high by artificial attendance announcements with £10 season ticket holders not turning up. Annis stated that against Birmingham and many others a few years back we only actually had 15,000-16,000.

Luckily for attendance enthusiats and the ones that pretend we are a "big club" - we got promoted and the false attendance didnt have chance to show through as everybody wanted a piece of the Prem, regardless of the rebrand.

Now, as I said at the first home game of the season, this is our first year where it actually shows where we are in terms of size of club and our real actual following. And that is 13,500 - 15,500 id have thought.

So any schemes and incentives like giving tickets away or selling them for £1 - will just again generate a fake attendance which people will then hold as the actual following and forever be unsatisfied when it falls back to the real figures.

Re: ' Worst home crowd ever '

Rubbish. There is very little difference between pre Premier League ACTUAL attendance and the post Premier League attendance we are seeing now. Before we went up, people were buying up cheap season tickets and largely leaving them empty (especially in the family stand) in the hope they would see Prem football, now that they have - they arent interested anymore.

So all we are seeing now is the 17,000 we had when we moved into the stadium minus the 2-3 thousand that clubs like us experience when a new ground is moved into. Any fans that are supposedly "staying away due to the hurt caused by Tan" are just the ones that jumped on the red Prem band wagin anyway. I dont understand why people keep peddling this myth.

There may be a relative handful that are no longer going for that reason but barelyenough to register. The VAST majority are just glory hunters that are seeking their glory elsewhere or have had their fill.

Do we want the Plastics back ? If the answer is No then these will be our attendances for the rest of the season, or if they come back they will be called Plastics,s for ever in the day, so why would they want to come back ? the bottom line is most club s will have a element of Glory hunters, but if we want bigger crowds then we need these fans back, I am not referring to the genuine fans who have walked away due to shamble way this club has been run :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

This season we have less than 13k ST so always danger of it happening this season particularly at beginning, all stadiums have lowest attendance at some point ? Blaming tan or the Pope just masks how many glory hunters we have as fans,

Of course every stadium is going to get a lowest attendance. Even United get a lowest attendance but you're missing the point. 13k is worrying and specially as we've had a good start.

What point? Fact we had only 13k why is it worrying only 10k ST holdes and until people are convinced we can be challenging at top league it's going to be low, as I pointed out its early in season and still to convince people Slade is real deal , so what is crowd suppose to be 18k like in early days of stadium? People are so unrealistic its unbelievable on here!

But Allan, Not so long ago 27,000 every game, now we get some of the lowest crowds in the Championship and you say thats not worrying? ?

you mean the 12k plastic fans on top of hard core 12k we use to bave before good times ? trouble is everyone is referring to previous years but thats so misleading due to cup success and being promotion candidates for past 6yrs or more , this season is what should be based on as no promotion hope and plastics gone! you honestly believe we will have 13k at end season if in top 6 come feb? so no not worried we are where we are just like in previous seasons results will dictate crowds?
ps wolves crowd was as bad except wolves brought over 600 more fans than hudsfield, so % wise improvement with home supporters attending! :thumbright:

Spot on Allan. The bar is now set in peoples mind, however that bar was falsely high. As a result, normality is seen as worryingly bad. We are where we are, just enjoy.
