Can you explain how he was so brilliant ?

He did absolutely nothing wrong today, can't remember him giving the ball away once, he defended extremely well every time wolves came, he dealt with the pressure very well and he produced a nice floated ball to assist Kenwyn's goal.

I am sure if you ask anyone else they would say he played outstanding today.

Two games were away for fucks sake get a grip and neither were easy games

Some of our fans are real wankers

If I said to you we'd average 1 point away all season you'd rip me left bollock off so cut him some slack

Slack? :sladeout: :sladeout: the only slack about Slade is the slack football

I could watch ballet all day and still not get anywhere near to understanding it. The same seems to apply to many posters on this forum when it comes to football. Predetermined biased rubbish.

For the first time since he took charge, the majority of posts in a thread now seem to be finally supporting Slade. From someone who has stuck up for Slade from the beginning, this is great to see! A very good post by Carl and I hope everyone at least gives Slade a chance and gets behind him after our positive start.

Of the players that Slade has bought in only Peltier started yesterday

Re: ' TIME TO CUT SLADE SOME SLACK '

If I'd been offered a 5 game unbeaten start with fixture list we had then I'd have taken it. My biggest concern with Slade is our defending from set pieces. Look at qpr goals and yesterday we fell asleep twice from short corners. The management and coaching staff must address defending set pieces as I feel we are vulnerable especially when Morrison plays. The other concern for me is the footballing philosophy at club. Reading that the u18s are playing 3-5-2 formation whilst first team play 4-4-2 is worrying. From youngest 11 aside team through to first team we should adapt the same principles and formation.

It's funny how everyone's talking about 'getting excited'the title of the post is 'cut slade some slack' ie give him a chance, don't be too critical.
That's fair enough, the performances have been ok and we're difficult to beat, it's a good start, that's all. I'm 55% that he'll lead us to a good season and deserves a chance, certainly not 'excited' but happy we're going in the right direction

Spot on,its more important to be right and condesending for some than to re-examine their position. But as someone else said, they are just wankers.

So says the person who said Gestede would end up playing in the Premier League whilst clueless muppets like yourself said he was a donkey or Bambi or whatever other dumb name you could conjure up. Now the same idiotic reactionists who called him names and knocked him down are the ones who think the sun shines out of Slade's backside. I honestly don't care if you believe that but let the rest of us hold the opinion we have as we are entitled to hold it just as much as you are entitled to hold yours.

Not like he plays many of his signings anyway and it's been said he doesn't take training.

Neither did Dave Jones take training sessions Luke.

But the manager picks the team and lives by the sword (results), if results are bad then the manager loses his job.

Are you suggesting that because Slade, according to you, doesn't take training sessions then he is not responsible for the results, win, lose or draw ?

No but he doesn't play those he signs and doesn't take the training.
He will get credit when we win and take stick when we lose that's football. My opinion is that our fans in general go totally over the top either way.

He played one of his own signings yesterday and people want to give him more money to sign players. His biggest achievement is cutting the wage bill.
Slade said top 6 so good luck to him, far to early to judge this season either way yet.

This. If we lose the next game the same fans saying to cut him some slack will be slating him like there's no tomorrow. 6 from 12 looks decent. 6 from 15 doesn't. 9 from 15 looks pretty good. Still, as you said, its just far too early to say.

carlccfc wrote:"Time to cut Russell Slade some slack"

Is Russell Slade a good enough manager to get Cardiff City promoted this season ?

I don't know what the answer is to that but what I will say is, after the first five games of the season, he deserves to be cut some slack and given the opportunity and support from the stands in trying to do so.

Excellent post Carl. As you know I don't think Slade is the manager for us but I did say that I'd give him 12 league games before I decide either way of my opinion.
I will say however, that so far, Slade is well on his way to winning me over, we shall see over the next 8 league games. Yesterday's win absolutely upped the percentage of Slade winning me over and long may it continue.
Great post Carl

I have too say I was bit shocked with how well we played yesterday, Jones and Fabio made a big diference, but the whole team played well, no one panicked and just booted the ball away, every time it was ball to feet, time will tell but feeling a bit happier after a very solid performance , I have nothing against Slade, just don't think he is any good at this lever, but i will be happy to be proved wrong. :bluescarf:

Still not impress with slade got lucky yesterday first half wolves controlled the game we sat too deep and game only cam to light when Jones got injured and Sammy come on . question is if Jones didn't get injured would slade change it I doubt it.

some of our fans will slag off a player they don't personally rate no matter how well that player plays. Fabio was immense on Saturday and it was proved by the man of the match he got from just about every media you can think of but yet you don't agree  That says it all really. Give him a break

you can only play what is in front of you, loads of teams at this level rely on a bit of luck now and again but you can't take away that good performance from the team. Luck was a minor factor :ayatollah:
