No one is saying if you had money to burn?

When we were in the Premier League our fans paid £50 a game  to some away grounds and we sold out at 99% of every ground we visited. We now barely take 400 fans to some away grounds, less than a year ago we were taking 3,000 fans

The real key for me is that the club had us in its hands for years where fans had to renew or they'd miss something.....whether it be a cup final or premier league game. Now most fans have seen both so dont give a shit.
I'm afraid a lot of people like myself would rather pick and choose games even though they have season tickets. I've seen lots of shit since 86 but even my love for the club has faded.
I missed a few games during the rebrand and have simply found more enjoyable things to do.

I do agree our club has not shown any respect to its loyal fans in the last 4 years,it was more concerned in looking after the glory hunters.

This for me and many other similar stories answers a lot why so many are not renewing

People are not renewing for at least 10 different reasons as well as this one.

Each and every person has something that is particular to them and why they are not renewing.

As some keyboard warriors have highlighted about "real fans will stay with the club"!

Get real and get your head out of the sand, there will be a loss on plastics and those who have supported the club for 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 yrs and more.

To think of it any other way just indicates ones intelligence :bluescarf:

The stewards are spoiling things for a lot of fans. Matchday should be about fun and having a good afternoon out with your mates. The stewards are making you feel the complete opposite, probably the only time they have had a bit of power in their life and its got to their heads. Getting more like a school than a football stadium, although probably more freedom in school.

I don't go anymore I am totally bored of it.

There is no value for money, the experience in terms of atmosphere is dire and the football on display is some of the worst I can remember witnessing.

I don't need to make excuses - all valid reasons.

We had 500 fans locked out of ( griffing park ) brentford years ago as there was no room for them as it wasnt made all ticket so they opened up half the home terrace end for them yet this weekend we cant even sell out carls coaches which i cant believe theres still spaces left, shows how shit our fan base is these days

I was one of those fans locked out, and didnt actualy get in. Supporting carsiff was fun then - not because we were good (we were worse) but because the experience was fun. We had unity and a great atmosphere. That has all gone.

Annis, is it possible that many of the season ticket holders who are not coming to games are people who were paying by instalments, have reneged on their last payment (which if they definitely did not want to attend any more games would mean saving some money despite incurring a fine) and therefore had their tickets suspended? I think the club should announce if this is the case, and definitely these fans should not be included in official attendance figures. Perhaps the club should also do something in terms of offering these fans some kind of offer to allow them to attend the last few games. I could be wrong about this, but I wonder if it's a possibility.

I doubt it

Spot on. Personally, I'd love to go back down but can't afford it. The re-brand allowed me to re-evaluate my life with my first child on the way and I decided to stop going down. Since then, I've kept busy on Saturdays with the family due to the missus working on Sundays and we have a second baby on the way so getting a season ticket is a distant reality right now.

I'm really pleased the club has been turned back to blue with the badge but the damage caused by the ignorance of the re-brand is going to take longer to repair than a couple of acts. The club is on the right track but needs to be more patient and be more innovative to bring back those fans that are able to afford to come back but still hold reservations about a return.

its all about the quality of football and value for money in terms of pure entertainment for some. thats why some fans like the one you refer to aren't renewing and will be back if performances improve.

CCFC are no different to most other clubs. performances go down and the fair weather fans stop coming. life goes on and even dropping prices by £170 makes no difference. at least it means i get served in mcdonalds quicker after games if nothing else! :ayatollah:

The actual real attendance Saturday of Cardiff Fans was 11,350  :o (So Ive been told) plus 950 Charlton fans,to me that is absolutely shocking.

Personally I thought there was a couple more thousand than that, but even that would not be good.

We have our Identity back so there is NO excuses at all :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Yes we are now a Championship club, but we are virtually safe from relegation.

Yes the football has not been good at all, BUT surely We Support Cardiff City through the Good and Bad times?

We all miss some matches through family commitments etc,but this has been happening virtually all season?

Also Ive been told season ticket sales for next season are awful.

I for one will be renewing my families and mine later this month as usual,I hope thousands of others will to :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

The fallout post malky, pretty shocking season last year after all the years of trying to get there. The jacks doing it effortlessly, fans being ignored, taken the piss out by the owners, no atmosphere in the ground, over zealous stewarding not to mention £35 a ticket if you haven't got an ST, what a total rip off.
Then there's the shocking football and a team full of overpaid twats who couldn't give a shit. Looking at this, I'm amazed we have any fans left at all, many just walked over the rebrand and they can't be arsed to come back as they have better things to do.

This pretty much sums it all up. Though I am in the minority , despite supporting the Club for over 50 years, in not being that bothered about the colour of the shirts, I go along with the rest of what you say 100%.

Man of Harlech wrote:So will people now realise that the colour change never had a real impact on attendances. To the majority of fans it was secondary to the survival of the club and football. I have supported this cub through thick and thin for nearly 50 years. I would have continued to do so whatever the colour of the shirt, but it is a real struggle to continue to be enthusiastic through the football being produced by this clown of a manager, even though he has some decent players at his disposal. It really is shocking. He is killing the enthusiasm of thousands.

I could have written this myself. Obviously you beat me to it.
