Annis, I don't think we were awful at all. I'm not even sure how you can describe our performance like that? We weren't clinical enough, and a few years ago would have put 4 past this poor Charlton team, but compared to recent months I thought we were very very good.

Lots of exciting young talent on show. But to be fair, I don't quite understand how one good game from Ralls has made everyone forget just how poor he has been at times this season. I don't get why people seem to think he should suddenly be first choice on the team sheet.

Well everyone who was walking past me on the way out,were not happy at all with the football they had just seen.

I thought Charlton were no better.

Ralls deserves a run in my opinion.

Yes Ive seen worse football than this,but these are suppose to be Championship players on £ Thousands a week and to me they played poor and were boring to watch.

From our side of things, I thought it was a lot better than some of the football we've seen since Slade took over. The recent home games against Reading and Rotherham were two of the worst games of football I've seen, and we were nowhere near those levels

Guerra, Le Fondre...those guys would be scoring for fun today, in my opinion. We've created yet another new style of play for ourselves yet let go of the kind of strikers who'd benefit from it.

I just don't think we were "awful" today. I get where you're coming from though, and agree Slade is absolutely dire and the only manager who I've sung at to be fired. I'd be very surprised if he was at the club in August - I suspect a quiet departure from him this summer.

Yes I agree for periods of the game,we had improved and looked solid at the back,but I had to remind myself how poor Charlton were. This is a very poor division this season and we have to beat sides like Charlton at home. Our home record is abysmal. There was no real quality other than Manga.

The reason I said awful was because Charlton were poor and we in periods struggled against them. We should of got a draw at least,

ANNIS FOR 80MINS WE HAD NO problems total control! Witts off for 5 mins altered game and poor defending for 1st goal and idiotic tackle for other cost game things have improved like no hoof ball more possession needs lots work but cannot expect anything with cost cutting done, also slade is only an interim manager to oversee cuts ect, as no other decent manager would have excepted job on terms slade did? New manager next season

Allan, Charlton were no real threat as they were very poor, but as the game went on,exactly like the Rotherham game we let them back in to the game and this time we got punished for it.
The football was dire and no real quality over all.
Just 3 wins from 17 League games and 1 win at home from 10 League games, that for me is worse than shocking.

We were very bad today. I think that we were better in the first half but extremely poor in the second.

When we scored In the second I really wanted us to build on the goal. But as usual we switched off and let them get on top of us. I thought it inevitable that Chatlton were going to pull one back. We also invited the penalty by playing too deep for too long.

Why on earth was Kennedy dropped and why was McAleny taken off? Also not good that Ralls was dropped for Whittingham. Although with Slade that was also probably inevitable.

I thought Whittingham had a half decent game yesterday but when I seen him in the starting line up I was disappointed. I'm not a fan and his partnership with gunnarsson I've commented on before but there obviously something that I don't see that the last few managers do. I just think we need a total rethink on our midfield as it's been our achilles heel for a while. That said don't think yesterday it was the reason we lost but don't think other teams are put in a trance with is left foot wand shirt when the teams are announced

Personally I felt we never played that good,not our worst by far,but def not good football.
The football under Slade is not good and thats why the ground is half empty.

Personally I never thought we were in total control of this game. Everyone knows that as long as there is only one goal in it, anything can happen. I was waiting for the inevitable to happen, that is us defending deeper and deeper as time goes on, and the equally inevitable costly errors to creep into our game. Could see it coming a mile off having already seen it umpteen times already this season. We continue to make the same mistakes week after week.

My opinion on yesterday's game.
was shocked that Whitts and noone recalled as nobody done anything wrong to be dropped.
To be fair thought noone had 1 of his better games lots of energy
Whitts I thought played some lovely balls and did break up some play.
The loss of gunnar was huge as Ralls and Whitts not big hitters like gunnar . So a little bit of justice for Slade's decision for starting 11.
BUT.
Why when we went 1-0 up why didn't we kill them off?
McAleny and noone were running them ragged and we were looking in control for a change.
So why take McAleny off ?
Yes I like Kennedy and he deserved to start but nobody was looking jaded and you don't make changes when you are in control of the game it upsets the rythym of the players. Why not give it a further 10 mins to settle down and see who tires as I would of rather taken kenwyn off on 80mins and pushed McAleny forward off macheda then put Kennedy on wide.

We actually played some football today and looked like a team for possibly the first time in 3 months. Even with a lightweight centre midfield of Ralls and Whitts we had a good degree of control and created a number of chances in open play that has been rare all season.

Yes I do agree there has been a vast improvement, but still not entertaining or shall we say crowd pulling. The test will come in the next two matches.
